Will we ever get a ship with a Universal Commander slot?

Just as the title says. Just wondering, but it would be nice so that any type of build could work on that style of ship, course then Cryptic might have to make them all that way cuz everyone would probably buy it.

Also don't the KDF BoP ships have a universal commander slot?
Ahhh the Zombie Recluse. One of the only indestructible ships in STO. You can load up so many self heals that you can tank 4 or 5 ships focus fire and not even feel it. Granted you have to rely on pet spam for offence and prob wont kill anything.
Sounds a bit reclusive...

At no point in your opening post did you mention you want a Fed-only or Rom-only ship with Commander Uni.

Honestly every ship in this game should be configured like the BoP because I should be able to choose my senior staff, but that's a different rant, and an often seen rant.
So I've corrected myself on the title, and I'll clarify that I want all factions to see more ships with Universal Commander slots. I'm not sure if I missed or overlooked anything else, buit I am sure that the denizens of this forum will be quick to point it out

Dunno about that. I can tank and deal massive damage with that thing. I love it.
I know exactly what you mean. I keep hoping that people will create giant boats on the ocean that can launch vehicles into the sky, but I refuse to consider aircraft carriers exist because I don't personally own several billion dollars.

Maybe we will see them again, but I doubt it will be often.
That said, having a Universal Cmdr slot is very powerful, more than most think, there's a reason why the Plesh Brek wasn't giving a full uni seating, even the devs (for all their faults) are still understanding how potent that can be. Seriously, it lets you do ANYTHING you want with that spot. Having multiple slots or even the Cmdr be universal is pretty huge honestly.
It's a big thing to have a uni cmdr, it really is.
No less constructive than when you based what you're willing to believe exists on whether you'd buy it or not.

Then you have not been playing at time(s) when these ships were available in abundance in exchange for a reasonable price. Tuffli was running for 12 million, the least price I have seen for that ship ever. See the prices now.

The biggest draw, I think, would be putting something on a maneuverable ship that is only available on a less maneuverable ship.
The opposite way seems suboptimal (putting something on a less maneuverable shpi that a more maneuverable ship could do. A Cruiser with an Escort selection of powers would offer no real advantage over an Escort, even if it had more hull. I suppose the only value could be a better beam cruiser, but I suspect the Lt.Cmdr Tac battlecruisers and what not already suffice here.)
And, well, that has already been done on BOPs. And the only interesting ones I think where Science/Tactical power mixes, since you don't need the BOP maneuverability and low hull for engineering healers.
OP is asking for a universal commander ship which is, aside from the lottery ships, a thing exclusively reserved for KDF raiders. But instead of playing one of those it ust creates demands for "I want that on my fed toon on a cool ship". It's the same with carriers, cloaking devices and so on. Why is it so hard to accept that certain things are just not available to everyone in a game of two factions? Why the constant demand for absolute uniformity?

* Keys cost 125 Zen each.
* 200 keys is the equal to 180 or $250, which is the cost of a Lifetime Subscription.
* So your Tal Shiar Adapted Battle Cruiser just cost you a Lifetime Subscription.
* Now you look on the Exchange, where you find the Tal Shiar Adapted Battle Cruiser is 100 million.
* Depending on the day, 50-53 keys sold will get you that 100 million, with some left over for duty officers.
* Your Tal Shiar Adapted Battle Cruiser just cost you 48 or $66.25.
Moral of the story? Always go the keys to EC route.

So I'd imagine a ship with a universal Commander station would have to be defined in other ways and have a unique concept.
My guess would be something like:
Science Ship or Carrier. 6 Sci Console slots, 2 Tac, 2 Eng.
