Vesta, on par with the Sovereign. For having to design a ship based on words in a book, they did a great job. In my previous trek experience, I've never been a fan of the saucer/nacelle style, until I was taken to First Contact and fell in love with the Sovereign, and then the Vesta when I started playing STO.
Defending The Galaxy By Breaking One Starfleet Regulation After The Next.
Sov is a cool ship. Arguably the Excalibur would need more love but its already considered the best cruiser in the game. I just feel it needs a modern skin.
The Excelsior is my favorite. Oberth, Miranda, Nebula, Galaxy are above it. Kinda middling for me I guess-but it's still above the NX, Akira, Prometheus and almost all of the Cryptic designs for me.
It has the sleekest design that showcases Starfleet's avant garde technology. Having followed Mark Rademaker's design process for some time (on his blog), Vesta was actually one of the reasons why I started playing the game.
Vesta is very nice. The only problem with the newer ships is that they tend to get flattened. The have no profile and thus less character. The Constitution and Excelsior have fantastic perspectives. The Excelsior in particular is just pure class.
The Sovereign Class is the sexiest and most intimidating Starfleet ship, we need to give it more love.
Are you referring to the Sovereign-class seen in the movies, or the Sovereign-class in the game?

I fell in love with the Sovereign after watching First Contact. The music was the icing that iced the cake. The love for the ship still remains. It will always be my favorite.
The Defiant class is beautiful, it's like the hotrod of starfleet- small, fast and armed to the teeth.
The Akira takes second place, it's a really beautiful looking ship
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

I agree. When TNG started I didn't know what to make of it. As the years went by I appreciated the design more. It really is a bold idea with interesting balance. The sovereign takes a more obvious direction to look cool.
I never really liked the Sovereign-design. Didn't when it came out in '96, still don't like it today.
It still beats the other 4 Assault Cruiser designs, though.
As far as my favorite designs are concerned, they're those around the first movie eras, the late-23rd century ones, up until TNG. The Constellation, Ambassador, Miranda, Excelsior & Constitution-Refit.
I've always like the Ambassador class. Good combination of the old series and the new. Plus I like the bridge look from Yesterday's Enterprise.
The Chimera is a very close second. Ever since my first character got one I loved it.

Oberth.
Sovereign is a close second.

Actually one of my least favourites. Tries way too hard to look cool.
Vesta is my current favourite for capability.
Dem nacelles.

That would be rude.
But the OP is, sadly, in error.

Now if only the game allow us to equip Saucer Separation console on Vesta.....
I don't look at ships as sexual objects. But my Excelsior is a better o
Looking design.

The Vesta looks ridiculous. Ranks just below the Ho'sus and Olympic variant IMO.

I like the look and feel of the Sovereign... one of my favorite ships!
The Defiant is up there for MY fav ships as well as the Akira.
I respect that you have an opinion and want to express it. My rejoinder to it is:
So f***ing what?
Ahh. No. "We" don't need to do anything. Speak not for others.
The Akira takes second place, it's a really beautiful looking ship

I support the Star Trek Battles channel.

Not from me.
The Sovereign is a damn fine looking hull, and certainly one of the best. I'd take it over a fat Galaxy or Vesta kit bash any day.
I would say though, for me, the Vesper T2 cruiser design just edges ahead of being the best ship design.
i'm just curious, but whats so cool about the oberth? aside from getting the feel of an expendable sci-vessel right.
