Now prevents the user from cloaking while activated.
It should be that cloaking disables the ability, not using the ability disables cloaking. Are you going to disable cloaking from Quantum Manipulation? Photonic Displacement console? Making much work now and more bugs later.
...someone plz punch me hard. this dream seems to be deep ^^... ok peeps, guess i'm off to the next psychatric clinic till those changes hit holo, laters ...
At least the pug queues should allow 2 team players.. if I just want to play a casual game with my friend, I have to go and wait 2 hs for a pre made mach or play in separated teams. That is not good!
I agree that full pre made vs full pug need it a fix, but this system just killed the Hey Kirk, lets go to a PVP for the sake of the fun.
Or just only 3, or 4 not 5 thats too OP
Really whats the point of naming it the "Unteamed Only queue" then?
WHY do ships TILT in SPACE? This is an atmospheric thing and it is WRONG.
Why do they have engine thrusters? Why not manipulate gravity for all movement? Because:
1) Visual cues are important
2) They tilt in the show, so whatever science-fantasy made them do it there is also here
3) Most of them are capable of atmospheric flight and presumably use tilting and winged flight there
Its interesting that the borg ships dont do this stuff. Spheres floating around without impulse engines (ignore EPtE anim), without banking, fed/kdf/roms arent there yet.
Oh yeah, it was totally a mistake. Once a power is live, its internal name can't be changed - that name is referenced on all characters who own the power. However, sometimes when a power is first made, its name more accurately reflects "that which was first imagined" instead of "that which ended up implemented". I can't really speak to this one, as Battle Strategies predates my tenure on STO, but usually that sort of inconsistency results from a power's Display Name being substantially changed from the original power's internal name.
Ahhh I see. That actually makes sense now, thanks!

You can name it "The queue for unteamed or for a team of 2 friends that want to have casual PVP in Star Trek Online just for the sake of the fun" for all I care.. the name is not important.
2 friends playing together does not constitute a premade.. not even by close, and is not fair that if they want to play together they need to face a 5 team premade.
More balance is coming. As much balance as I can squeeze out of my time.
Thanks Hawk, I understand there may be time constraints at the moment. You and the dev team have really outdone yourselves. A kit revamp, reputation revamp, sensor analysis rework, new Earth Spacedock, new character base complexion options, and the normal seasonal stuff. It truly has me looking forward to Season 9's release. Thanks for all of the work you and the dev team have put into this season.

In short; references .
Let's take OOP for example:
Function A refers to function B and C, where C refers to Z.
The powers that be want to rename Z to Zee.
Because of this, not only function C, but also function A are unable to give proper output.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

Yeah that totally explains the internal name. Focus Fire (a weapon-fire debuff ability back then) was renamed/changed into battle strategies in season 4
Is this at all related to what we MIGHT be getting in the not-so-far future? Please say yes if it is!
Discovery class bits on an Intrepid Class hull?
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

We will be bringing down the Tribble server for maintenance to apply a new update: ST.40.20140316a.8
General:
The Bio-Molecular Warhead rewarded by the Romulan mission "Infiltration" has been removed.
In its place, this mission now rewards a Disruptive Photon Torpedo which is a standard Photon Torpedo enhanced to have a chance to apply a Disruptor-like debuff that lowers the target's damage resistance.
This new weapon is still green-tinted.
Will KDF ever get a Green Photon Torpedo like this? I mean... it's canon all over Trek.
We don't want what the Feds have. We want the equivalent. We want fairer treatment. Concern, desire, greed to some extent, and passionate belief that the enough people would buy KDF items to make it worth Cryptic's while.
I like that the exterior map of ESD has been updated to better match the view from the inside. Any chance the new dry docks could be upsized a tad? I fly the Galaxy-X and the thing doesn't fit, saucer sticks out the sides and the secondary hull hangs below the dock.
The new ESD is beautiful, I look forward to seeing updates yet to come.
Thank you for the T6 Galaxy Class. - I support Tovan Khev. - Please bring back the exploration missions.
Hey! What's the deal with having cross-faction PvP team ques but not allowing cross-faction teaming to actually use them? Is this an oversight? A bug? A feature yet to be implemented?
If you feel Keel'el's effect is well designed, please, for your own safety, be very careful around shallow pools of water.
I've been following the evolution of the ESD revamp for quite some time, and I must say that it is absolutely beautiful - the overall layout really does reflect on the size of the ESD external itself, and I love the updated art style.
The bits I particularly liked were:
- The decks and decks of corridors above the central space where various starships are berthed. All those tiny silhouettes of people moving back and forth along the corridor really give ESD a sense of scale.
- The new and improved requisitions area. At last, each vendor now has their own appropriately-themed storefront, instead of being crammed next to towers of crates. Special mention goes out to the changing rooms in the tailor.
- Speaking of crates, I really dig the updated Starfleet designs. The old ones look too much like something out of some cheap generic sci-fi knockoff.
- The shuttlebay is way too cool. I was able to walk around it in the last patch, and I liked how the art team spared no expense to make something merely visible from a window or balcony look good even at long distances. Shuttles flying in and out are a nice touch.
- I really appreciate how the shipyard is now part of the main ESD map, as opposed to being a separate zone. The background LCARS displays showing various classes is pretty cool as well.
Some suggestions for minor improvements:
- The Cardassian tailor at ESD should really have better greeting dialogue. Right now, it's a tastelessly dispassionate and dour "Hello. You can change or alter your costume here." Something more Elim Garak-like would suit him better.
- The tailor area doesn't seem to have shelves or racks of uniforms. At the very least, there should be a faux door near the changing rooms leading to an "imaginary" storeroom where the tailor could theoretically get his goods from - something like the recessed doorway at the back of inside Club 47.
- The Damage Control and First Aid Locker decals are quite nice, but that's all that they appear to be, just decals. I'm guessing the art devs want a clean look to the station walls, but perhaps put a minor bevel or frame around said decals, so that they actually look like lockers built into the walls?
- The upper concourse area is neat, but could do with a bit more activity than just a few lounge areas.
- Speaking of lounge areas, it would be great if each of them had at least one replicator terminal nearby.
And finally, one question:
- What became of the Stateroom where Menn Hilo would congratulate players on rank promotions? Will there be some sort of replacement?
Laws of thermodynamics as applied to life: 0 - You must play the game. 1 - You can't win. 2 - You can't break even. 3 - You can't quit.

Since it's probably replicated there would be no point to having that kind of storage, at most he would have some sort of replicator station.

I initially suggested a door because I later proposed food service replicators for the lounge areas, and I didn't want players to wonder why one could get food from a tailor.
But yeah, at the very least, one of the wall terminals in the tailor could be replaced with a replicator receptacle.
Menn Hilo is sitting on a bench near the shipyard, The Stateroom like the Club is going to have to wait.
Yeah, I saw him on the bench the other day.
I know that the Club is a WIP, but at least space for that had been set aside. Bit of a shame there's currently no indication as to where the new Stateroom would be (or whether there'd be one at all)

there is no download site for tribble
1) start STO like you would normally

3) do not engage but notice that there three tabs next to the word SHARD Holodeck, Tribble, Redshirt, when tribble is used for season testing redshirt will become available other times the only one you should see is Tribble and Holodeck
4) click on the tribble tab and it should start patching the same would go with redshirt if you cjoose to patch it one it is patch hit engage.
that's all you need there is no download site for either just launch the launcher to the game and patch.
Edit you also have to sign up for tribble testing not sure the link for that but you also if you so choose can transfer a character to tribble which can be done here --> http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1043641 or you can create a new character as well your choice.
if there is anything I forgot I am sure someone will put it up.

It's already in the game. That's the Bellerophon class. The T4 Long Range Science Vessel C-Store ship.

This is very important if you are going to allow mixed factions to battle on the same team.
