At a quick glance, looks good.
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

    I hope STO get's better ...

(These hourly XP projects may be run a handful of times per day. Once that limit has been met, this project will be replaced by an hourly project that instead yields bonus Dilithium instead of reputation XP, in addition to the standard reward pack. There is no limit on how many times this bonus Dilithium project can be run.)

Why only a handful I'm sorry but with the Dyson one i did the hourly one countless times which got me to Tier V sooner than usual and preferred this if you only doing it a handful of time and then giving dilithium instead of the rep experience then your going to continue see people complain because unless you going to remove the dlithium cap people can get to that really easy and will probably grind this even less. Oh and how many times would be a handful a number would be nice.

Aside from the changes to hourly projects (though I didn't do them every hour every day so...meh), I think I like these changes. Maybe now I'll actually be able to stand finishing my reputations on my alts... :P

No more XP grinding, no more ridiculous items to use and *GASP* Romulan and Reman space gear being BETTER?!

so wat happens to the Mk X or XI Borg set that we already have...will they be upgraded to Mk XII

Does that mean it will take forever to get enough marks for the set items, because STFS are currently giving 90 to 130 Marks.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I have to say, after reading what is in this blog, I'm truly excited to see what comes of this system now that the reputations were brought more in line with what the Dyson Rep had going. This, in my opinion, is a major step in the right direction, in terms of the use of the Reputation system.

I wish to thank Gorngonzolla for his work on this, as well as the other devs of the game.

Here's the answer to your question:
A: No. Most older item sets have separate set bonus item requirements. So, if you own a Mk X or Mk XI item set that has an improved Mk XII version, it will likely not receive improved set bonuses.

Personally, I'm happy with the planned changes to the Reputation system.

And even more happy that Cryptic/PWE did analytics, plus listened to user feedback, to understand how the system could be improved.

Great job on the blog post, Phil. Well-written, esp. the inclusion of the Q&A section. I hope you'll participate in the forum feedback on this topic, too.

So basically all the other reps are adopting the Dyson Sphere rep system? Sweet. Maybe I'll finally finish Omega.

at first, was very disapointed to see the commendations getting removed, they made rep grinding almost painless. but the bonus marks once a day really is the beter way to go about it, AND a whole lot easier to retrofit to the older reps

"It’s important to note that the cost of these projects is constant, meaning they do not increase tier over tier. So, the Mark input cost will be 30 at all tiers instead of 10 at tier I and 40 at tier IV for example."

    AWESOME

the Reward Packs are nice, im glad those are staying and spreading to other rep. stores auto unlocking is great too

Romulan/Reman space sets and the Nukara space set getting buffed? great news, theres no reason for any rep sets to be worse then the stf sets

For people like me with a lot of characters the 800 rep XP project loss will inhibit leveling speed. That really sucks, but the other changes sound great, especially the Nukara buff.

Will the set buffs just be additions to the current stats? Or will anything get replaced?

I am glad Stephen and the team listened. Cryptic, you just did a very good thing, now don't do something that loses all the trust gained XD.

I really like the direction this is taking. The commendations never really bothered me one way or the other so losing them won't bother me. Looking over the blog it seems like you've also added a bit more XP from the hourly project (If memory serves it was 150 before), and we only get the XP a handful of times. Those small XP projects really only bother me the first time through I only run the daily once I get the sponsorship, but I am curious how many a 'handful' is. Seems like a great change.

The 2k project gets a boost to 2.5k. You only need to run 2 hourly projects to get the same XP as if you were doing the original style.

I only have a few questions, although I doubt they will be answered hehe.

Q: Will there be any change to the current rewards granted by reputation missions like the current Borg STFs or Dyson STFs due to these changes?

Q: Will any content that rewards reputation marks also reward the bonus such as the Defari Invasion zone missions, Nukara zone missions, Dyson battlezone missions, and/or Gamma Orionis Daily?

Q: Any thoughts of a fleet mark daily bonus?

Q: Will their be a visible cooldown of these 'bonus' mark boxes or will it remain like the Daily Commendation where the player must track it?

Between the existing sponsorship projects and the planned rep changes, suddenly alting becomes a lot more appealing again. Thank you Devs. Thank you so much.

I honestly have no complaints about the changes. :)

I'm so glad I didn't unlock the Omega costume set with all my alts that completed the Omega rep and got the set itself. So I will be able to unlock the costume sets with 5 marks instead of 250. Really nice change, thank you.

Liking the rest of changes as well. Simplicity is good!

these are the changes I have been waiting for... the only rep I have completed on any toon is the Dyson Rep (one toon has all the other ones completed to tier4 when I totally lost interest in the grind). The only toons with end-game ship/ground gear are those either from Dyson or the old STF acquisition (drop and raffle).

When this new method is incorporated into the rest of the reps, then I will actually get my one toon through the final tier V's and actually get some gear (since the price and miscellaneous stuff will be removed from gear buying).

The only question... why did take so long to do this change.
