STO won't start, launcher freezing

tried starting it with the old launcher and with arc and it just freezes with both, also tried directly starting the client and it didn't work either. It just says loading please wait, or logging in please wait with arc.

edit- ok uninstalled and am trying to reinstall, its patching and looks like it will be for awhile but it looks like I have gotten further then I did earlier.

    my issue is; the launcher is "frozen" at the patching point. though it's not patching at all. can't get past this point for some reason. worked fine for awhile after came back up fome server issue.
