Ok I know this is a hard one, so I will say you top 5 picks. That's all time scifi history of ships that you seen.

What ship or ships would you pick as your top of the line MUST have in your personal collections?

What would be even better is they were working models, but that's asking a lot. :D

A star destroyer. Executor is probably too big, so a generic full sized model (not the smaller vic class) but the design is actually thoughtful: a triangle with guns all over it aimed parallel to the hull focused on the "point" of the ship, its a beast. Full of troops, small craft, ground assault vehicles and weapons, its a very good design apart from having the shield generators exposed (derp).

V'ger. It knows a lot of stuff, and has amazing tech and more. The actual "ship" is a mess but it contains all you need to know to build a custom ship and more. If you could "tame" it, it would be an amazing asset full of the secrets of the universe.

Orz nemesis. Because the orz are awesome and their ship may be just a big fighter but its still one of the best :)

    The iconic ships, just because..
    - one of the enterprises (sorry but they all look the same to me)
    - the millennium falcon

Sovereign-class, Scimitar-class, Death Star, Firefly-class, and........a Consu ship from the Old Man's War books.

    Edit: Wouldn't mind a TARDIS either. :D

working models is one thing, but if they are not exactly right on details then i wont want them, as an affront to established canon.

    1. Miranda Class w/ torpedo mission module

    2. Babylon 5 Narn Cruiser

    3. Normandy SR2

    4. TIE Interceptor

    5. Goa'uld Ha'tak
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.

The Normandy SR-2,...just look at her.

A close second place would have to be this one.
The Avenger from that game that gets a million dollars every week from people. You know what I'm talking about.
One day Cryptic will be free from their Perfect World overlord. Until that day comes, they will continue to pamper the whales of this game, and ignore everyone that isn't a whale.

    I'd stick with Trek ships.

    In alphabetical order..

    Excelsior class (Lakota Refit)
    Jem'Hadar Dreadnought
    Mogai class
    Vesta class
    Vor'cha class

I don't like much Sci-fi outside of Star Trek, and I really don't like Star Wars...

...that having been said, those yellow and chrome N-1 fighters from Episode One are pretty sweet. If I could have a hanger of N-1s, I wouldn't turn it down.

    The Liberator (Blake's 7)

    The Scorpio (same source.)

The Polity battleship Cable Hogue (the one they're not allowed to park near any planet with oceans, on account of what it does to the tides).

    The GCU Grey Area.

And a full-scale working model of the Skylark of Valeron would be nice. Not sure where I'd put it, though.

A fully functional and armed T5 Romulan D7, with the Raptor on the bottom and the interiors shown in "The Enterprise Incident," along with a full Romulan crew who have sworn undying loyalty to me (from whom I have learned to become entirely fluent in the Romulan language) and who will help me take over Planet Earth in 2014, when there's no way the primitive and puny Terrhasu have sufficient technology to prevent my conquest. Then I will institute a sophocracy and rule as the Philosopher Queen of what I will name "the Royal Rational Romulan Star Confederation," have the primitive natives build more ships for me, and spread my rule to other class-M planets which are also not sufficiently technologically advanced to resist my conquest.

I also will naturally have the uniform (and off-duty attire) of the Romulan Commander in the aforementioned TOS episode, and the young TOS Spock as my consort.

This is the kind of answer you will have from me when I am experiencing sleep deprivation (as is currently the case). However, I might also give such an answer even when well-rested.

First, my obligatory uber ship picks:

    #1 Death Star (SW1,3)

    #2 Narada (ST2009)

    #3 Borg Tactical Cube

    #4 STF-1 Macross

    #5 Battlestar Galactica

Since those are obviously no-go's for STO, here are my nostalgia picks:

    #1 Millenium Falcon

#2 Galaxy class - Enterprise D (Possible in STO!)

#3 Jupiter 2 (Lost in Space)

    #4 Colonial Viper (Battlestar Galactica)

#5 Gunstar, with Death Blossom (The Last Starfighter)

And yep, those are not gonna happen either, except for that Galaxy class.

I'd give you my classic sci-fi list but for the life of me I can't think of a single fictional ship from a classic sci-fi novel that stands out in my mind.

As for modern sci-fi novels, only one comes to mind:

Wasp II (Kris Longknife) - SmartMetal(TM) FTW! That one would be fun to fly!

And so, finally, my Trek-only list of STO ships:

    #1 TOS Constitution

#2 Defiant (T5 retrofit, with the cloak and the Quad Phasers from the Sao Paulo)

#3 Galaxy (T5 retrofit, with the Antimatter Spread and Saucer Separation)

    #4 Intrepid (Want a 3 ship reboot)

#5 Vesta (Got it, love it, keeping it)

    This; Shadow Vessel

"It was jet-black. A shade of black so deep, your eye just kind of slides off it. And it shimmered when you looked at it. A spider, big as death and twice as ugly. When it flies past, it's like you hear a scream in your mind."

Imperial I Class Star Destroyer. More imposing than the Imperial II or Tector Classes.
Sovereign Class Cruiser. Damn that is one nice ship
Starbug. more the association of the ship rather than the ship itself.
TARDIS. It's a time machine duh.
Death Star. Does it count as a ship? I don't care :D, I'm going to plug up that damn hole though.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

From any SF franchise? Hmm. Okay, in no particular order:

    - the TRIBBLE Deceiver, from Heinlein's "The Number of the Beast-". Burroughs-Carter Continua Device lets you go anywhere, anywhen, in any universe.

    - the battlestar Pegasus, from the more recent series. Presumably at least as tough as the Galactica (which took a nuke point-blank and only had a few fires), and with the facilities to manufacture more Vipers if she loses any.

    - the Monitor Corps cruiser Vespasian, from James White's Sector General stories. Rattlers sound like awesome weapons...

    - have to agree with a Glorious Heritage-class High Guard battlewagon. Smart missiles, slipfighters, and a hold full of weapons that can make a star go nova.

    - Speaking of battlewagons, a President-class battlewagon from Jerry Pournelle's Empire of Man tales. Something along the lines of the Lenin, but with fewer personnel from St. Ekaterina.

Pegasus was a good ship, but hapless to successive incompetent leaders.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.

I would, probably - as I am human. How about a strong telepathic person, like the prodigy Betazoid seen in "Tin Man" episode. There must be more of them around.

Or heck, I might of ask Magneto to lend me his anti-telepathic helmet (or abduct a Ferengi) to block out whatever drives you insane.

Perhaps even experiment with Trill symbiont to communicate with the vessel.

I might not have thought this out as much as I should. We are talking about designs, huh? I will take it.
