So...Disconnected from Server During STF and I Get a Leaver Penalty...

Not exactly certain how I can avoid being "Disconnected from Server" - was nothing I did. But, no big deal, I log back in to try to either rejoin the STF I was in or begin a new one, but, 'lo and behold:' Leaver penalty for an hour!

OK, no worries, I have a life and was just taking a gaming break over lunch. Thing is, how is something out of MY control MY fault; i.e., why the penalty? Kind of like being told you lost the Big Game due to the fact rain kept you from playing...

Well, maybe I'll try again NEXT break...whenever I get one.:rolleyes:

    Because otherwise some one could simply shut down his computer to avoid the leaver penalty and them claim "But I was forced off" to argue around it.

    I've been forced off and took the penalty without complaint. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the old system. One minor inconvenience trumps the sleepers we had in the past.

    You wouldn't even have to shut down. You'd just have to disconnect the WLAN for a second.

    Although, usually, when I have disconnects during stfs (which happens more then I like) I usually get back into the stf if log in with the same character again.

    Right, cuz the game engine is still running on your PC. Which is why I talked about shutting the PC down. That's the ultimate disconnect. Everything stops. And I wouldn't like it if someone tried to take that tact as fake proof of something that wasn't their fault, they should get their rewards, no penalty, blah blah blah.

    Same answer to OP: Suck up the penalty. I never want to go back to the old ways before penalties.

    Sorry dude. It sucks, but it happens sometimes. At least you only got a 1 hour leaver penalty. I've heard about people with connection issues getting slapped with the 2 hour afk penalty.
    It's not my fault if you feel trolled by my Disco ball... Sorry'boutit.

    I actually had client crashes and got back into the stfs again.
    I also had PC restarts and got back into mission map (back when I used a pc^^) but not into stfs cause they'd probably be over at this point. Unless it's kithomer with idiots. Then it might work there too.

    Loging in with another character first... Well then u usually get out for good.
