They gave it a turn rate boost with this reboot. And contrary to what one poster thinks up above (while asking for a turn rate boost of 2, which is insane), the +1 to turn is a significant boost for the ship. There's a bit of a tradeoff, you have to equip the consoles for the bonus, but it's there.
Very simple. I may buy the fleet X if it has a LTC tac boff and 4 tac consoles. If it also has a vastly more accurate lance I'll definitely buy it.
Anything less than LTC tac boff and 4 tac consoles and I'm not a buyer. I'll buy avenger, TRIBBLE cruiser refit or excelsior instead. I don't own any of those either yet.
So possible purchase of fleet X if it has LTC tac and 4 tac consoles, and definitely purchase if the lance accuracy is also fixed.
I already have the Galaxy-X but I have not used it in a long while. Main reason is that it is not suited to my toon's build. Now that we have presets and can change builds on a whim, I may bring it back out. I would like to see the LTC Eng and the LT Tac spots switched. Definitely a cooldown reduction on the lance as well.

So, for a mere, what, 3500 zen you can gee up the Gal=X (2500 zen) to somewhere close to what it should have been.
Provided you dont mind losing two console slots to do it.
I don't mind a bit of monetarisation, but to tell people they'll give them some of what they want for the Gal-X, on spending an additional 3500 zen, well thats just nasty.
All id like is a Lt Cmdr Universal on both ships, then I would use them again..

One or two asking for commander, but the majority are looking for Lt Cmdr.

For gimmick consoles, AMS and Saucer Sep aren't bad, particularly since Separation gets you an extra combat pet with more AMS while giving your Dreadnought some agility, and AMS is really annoying to deal with.

I'd buy it, and actually fly my feds again, if it had a Cmdr Tac, Lt Cmdr Uni, and preferably a battlecloak. As it stands its just another crappy fed cruiser, which there are already plenty of, with the Dreadnought label slapped on it to trick people into thinking its something its not. Loved the Galaxy X in the show, but STO has butchered it beyond belief.

For me, what would make me buy a Gal-x if I didn't already have it is the inclusion of the option for a Terran skin to the ship, and I.S.S. prefix

that it was built for its role, the retrofit galaxy should be nothing more then an exploration ship, mostly science based and tactical followed by engineering.
the dreadnaught is a bit more armed and a cloaking device, however i doubt its purpose has really changed from science based missions and making contact with other races. so slightly stronger tactical and slightly weaker engineering but science remains strong.
thats the way its shown in in canon, thats how it should be sold.
