Because it means that if you did not do this for EVERY SINGLE TOON you want to use these ships on then those ships are never going to be as good or useful as those that you got the secondary deflector for. This means that in a way if you want to use this pack to get a science ship in the future you will have an eternally ALMOST complete ship that cannot be fully completed because the last part of the ship is still locked behind this event.
It gets worse.
If you want the deflector or core on future ships for a toon, you need to keep the anniversary ship in your drydock so that you can Reclaim the items. You must keep the anniversary ship in drydock, forever and ever, even if (especially if) you buy the c-store ships.

Can't you do that multiple times so you have them on each ship then get rid of the anniversary one? I've not looked into it myself as the c-store ships just don't appeal to me, Fed side they are fugly as sin to me so I won't be touching them.
If you can't do that then I am going to agree with you about it being worse.
So, for $100 USD, we get an account-wide unlock for:
* three ship models (one per faction)
* three slightly different paint jobs
* three different console layouts
* three consoles
* one new bridge (with no other interior parts)
And we don't get:
* Multiple ship configurations
* Faction specific materials
* The warp core to complete the Step Between Stars set
* The Secondary deflector to complete the Solanae Advanced Technologies set
Because those last two parts are only available if you grind out 1000 Qmendations. Per character. By February 27th. So if you create a new character February 28th, that character will never have a "complete" Advanced Solanae Science Destroyer.
I feel like someone at Cryptic has a low opinion of me. It's not a nice feeling.
Oh-- My apologies. The Anniversary ship will be available for 600 lobi.
Which means you're getting two ship items for a discount of only -200 lobi.
That's right-- all other ship consoles are 200 lobi, but to to buy these two, you pay 200 lobi more.
Granted, that's better than 800 lobi, but since you're probably only buying the anniversary ship to complete the two 4 piece sets, you're really only buying the consoles for your account-wide unlocked ship(s).
I think it would look a better ship if it had a darker look to it (fed versions of the dyson)
The saucer looks decent in tactical mode without the wierd cannons. I say the cannons should have looked like the defiant. Also, the hideous deflector needs to look normal.
The ship looks like a bad version of a pitch fork, the fed ship.

What do you mean the fed ship is as ugly as sin, all 3 faction ships are ugly as sin and don't really fit the factions that much. Yes they have the vague shape of a Fed cruiser, Klingon Raptor and Romulan warbird but that is it. Also realistic speaking if the 3 factions had started to incorporate tech into their fleet found on the sphere the exterior wouldn't be that much different to what they are already building and reverse engineering does take time, so it doesn't even really fit in with the IP.

They have a low opinion on all of us, we're only here to pay their wages and keep them in a job, it's their marketing strategy aka power creep, bring in something new that unbalances the game get as much money as they can in the first month or two then nerf it down to be balanced or don't bother at all.
Do you really think they made the Romulan faction because they wanted to give their players the chance to play the last of the 3 major species? They saw it as an opportunity to make a boat load of money very quickly. Those not interested in Roomulans, the fact they are so powerful was a play to try and encourage some of those people to play it, especially for PvP. It's about the cash flow and nothing more.
I've learnt to wait a couple of months before buying any new ship to see if it gets hit with the nerf stick. I'd like to know what I am buying will (hopefully not certainties in life) be the same in a few months time.
Support the Game by Supporting the KDF, equality and uniqueness for all factions!

I think the Romulan ship looks the closest to Faction but the non-specific skin and the generic hybrid bridge or interior, looks horrible. It doesn't look hybrid.
The Klingon just doesn't seam mechanical enougth to me. I expect some pipes to be half way sticking out the side and bulk heads. It shouldn't have that much too smooth like a Cadillac surface. It's not Klingon to do so with any amount of dignity. aka. Except if the Captain is Worf (He had the Defiant.)
Now, the Federation version. Garbage looking in every which way possible. If someone does disagree with me, watch any of the Star Trek episodes and movies. The Excelsoir, Defiant, Promethus, or Soverign was expiremental ships and they did not look like a half as$ coffee drinking developer slash designer side project.
I love the design and they are fun to play. No idea why so many complaints.
I am glad you like the ship. As for the complaints, there seems to be a broad view that the design is bad and not true to Star Trek even for a hybrid ship. The differences between the 3 variants are so minor. It obvious the designer or developer made one ship and did a copy and paste on the others. Which is lazy work.
Previous variants of ships before the Obedisk had very noticeable difference especially on the Federation side. Lastly, who decided to not make faction specific skins and keep the same bridge across 3 different factions. Is flatly illogical?
It's like buying a Cadillac in Japan, Hong Kong, or China. The same design does not work well across the countries. So, think about the bridge and the three different factions differences in bridge design.
I LOVED the story, randomness in the mission (replayable not repeatable - you gotta take this to STFs now, OMG please!) and the VO!
But, Cryptic, you went too far. Too many changes in the way that the anniversary was ran - specifically the grind aspect. The anniversary had been a "thank you" to the players in the past for playing and supporting STO; it was the one time to play a really great mission and get a decent ship without the pressure of the grind.
I don't consider a repetitious grinds like the chasing Q to be "free (tm)". It's (again) repetitious, uncreative and mind-numbingly dull. Not fun to the point of almost being insulting.
Also this time, besides the "free" ship, rest of the ships are presented in a big C-Store pyramid for ships that are soooo much alike that it's hard to truly see the value.
At least a little bit of power creep might have been ok this time around, or even having a canon ship might have sweetened the deal a little.
No Sale for me. Thanks.

So to get this straight if I have 1 Fed toon and 1 Rom and 1 Kling on I have to buy the 3 3-bundke packages to be able to unlock each ship for each of my characters?

The 9 pack is the cheapest way if you must have all 9 ships. I would take some time to think whether its worth that much money first. I am getting none of them.
I just got back from Destination Frankfurt, sold a ton of dil and picked up the kdf 3 pack.
I wanted to thank everyone that worked on the featured episode and ships.
I really enjoy the advanced version. Love the destabilized beam and 3 special shields.
They give you plenty to do in battle. She performs very well in stf's.
Happy captain here.

Grinded on one character per faction to get the anniversary ship to satisfy my borderline OCD, only even opened the box on my Romulan Tac, and found that I prefer the Risian Corvette.
Not real impressed with the boff seating for the grind hell anniversary ship, and even less impressed with the pricetag for what is essentially a 3 pack (or 9 if you're a REAL sucker) console set. Made even worse by the c-scam set not including the warp core and secondary deflector. Like with everything else since the Atroxity, not spending any money on this. Not even converting dil into zen for this. I'd rather throw it into fleet projects, and for me that's saying a lot.
I'll continue to not spend any money unless bugs are fixed. None of the characters on my entire account are able to accept the dyson daily space mission, after completing it a few times it just disappeared as an option when talking to Kaol and from the available missions tab. Customer support was as usual totally unhelpful and sent me canned reply after canned reply that had nothing to do with the problem.

Very and Decent but better Spike. You can see my review of it on Youtube. Just look in the build's section on these forums.
Players don't like the fact that they are forced to use Proton Cannons in Tactical Mode.
So based on the V.A.T.A. System and the Romulan Drones, I hereby present to all of you the:
Adaptive Multi-Spectral Heavy Cannons
Based on the Energy Type of the other ship weapons, the A.M.S. changes it's Energy Type.
Actually, I got my Proton DHC to do more than 1500 Proton Damage (I don't know how).
Chillax. No Ego. No Drama.
