The Advanced Dyson Science Destroyers are now available in the C-Store! To celebrate their release, we hope you enjoy this new spotlight video that features them here.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All nine Advanced Dyson Science Destroyers are available in the C-Store for individual sale (2,500 ZEN) or as a 3-pack factional bundle (5,000 ZEN; over 33% savings!). As each faction has their own 3-pack bundle of Advanced Dyson Science Destroyers, for even more savings, you can choose to purchase all 9 ships in a 9-pack bundle (10,000 ZEN; over 55% savings!). Purchasing any one of the 9 ships individually, or any one of the 3-pack bundles, will make the account ineligible to purchase the 9-pack bundle. Also, purchasing one of the factional ships individually will make the account ineligible to purchase that factions 3-pack bundle. Once the 9-pack bundle is purchased, the individual faction appropriate ships become available to claim on each character on your account via the C-Store.
Sorry nope, not gonna buy these. Not worth it. Certainly not at "ludicrous price".
Besides which, i'm pretty majorly upset that I can't use the "new" materials on my Fleet ships, without having to discharge them first, and have to REBUY Fleet Ship Modules AND grind Fleet Credits. Sorry, nope, nah-uh, not gonna happen.
FIX YOUR BROKEN SYSTEMS FIRST, then we'll talk about possibly handing over any more money.

this is what reaction to ship release over saturation looks like, a tottal turn off on the whole thing, not helped by the fact that all the ships being released at once are basically stat clones of each other. multiple 1 packs at once is even pushing your luck cryptic.
I've tried to be supportive of C-Store releases in the past but this is just...gobsmackingly absurd. Let's set aside the most common issues for a moment - the 10,000 Zen price for all nine, the bundle eligibility, the fact that there are three identical ships per faction when one per faction would have sufficed;
They're Science Destroyers. Destroyers. What they are, ultimately, is the boost that Science players have wanted for so long...but it comes on what is effectively a sub-par Escort. Or a sub-par Science ship, if you want.
In short, you couldn't bring yourself to take a gamble and do some proper science ships, so you made stuff that pandered to the DPS crowd as well. You tried to have your cake and eat it, and what you ended up with is a very sloppy, ugly cake that most people don't want because it's neither as good as existing Escort cake nor Science cake.
To round it off, the materials are poor and the modifications are so minimal it's not even worth bothering with. The icing on this particular cake is that these came out on the same day as the Type 5/Type 3 materials...but can't use them. Just...wow.
IF I was to buy one, i'd buy the Fed. But I won't, because i've got the Vesta 3-pack and the Kumari 3-pack - both of which are superior to the Dyson ships at their respective roles.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
I watched the video. Is there actually any differences between the classes? Cos I aint seeing any.

Got them and love them all... a big steal at that price and after a dilithium weekend that paid for them. Thx! Just unlock the alternate materials like the veteran please.

Still haven't wised up and will throw in the secondary deflector and warp core with purchase? I will wait then.
To punish the people that weren't too lazy to spend 10 minutes per day on the toons they wanted them on? Or cut the profits that they will make when people need to spend Lobi to finish them off before the cut-off date? The planet you live on must be nice (or the air must be too thin). If you missed out and really want them, you can run the quest next year to get them.
Personally, I may grab these once there's a ship sale. At 15% off the big bundle almost starts to sound appealing. Almost.
In this other game you can buy a ship with complete and functional interior and exterior, a hangar to park it in when you log off The game sund track, alpha and beta access and more, for 40 dollars US.. Here you want us to pay fifty dollars US for an external model and a one room interior that looks unfinished and slapped together ( whether it was or not ) and nothing else..
If this is because of flagging sales then i recommend listening to your customers. They may not be as happy as you thought. I'm not going to get on my soap box here, but i believe this is an indicator that there is something terribly wrong that we as customers should be wary of.

That would be STO being owned by PWE Beijing.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
I wonder what the issue is.. it's almost as if PWE always loves to shoot themselves in the foot.
10k z is way too far out my own price range, i may buy 1 or 2 over months when i can get some dilithium together or some money outside the game, but a 10 pack of the same ship with a different name? no thank you!
imho season 8 has been a disaster since it was first planned and now with this, im hoping thats the end of season 8 for good.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Not too lazy, but the Q game was too simple minded and annoying for me to bother with, I find the idea of being expected to do it multiple times insulting. I have the lobi to get it but I can do without this ship I will get a different lobi ship instead. I have many premium end game ships, many of them sci ships like the Vesta 3 pack, temporal sci, many fleet sci ships I will lose no sleep over not getting this one but am still willing to pay zen for a ship or bundle if it isn't missing those 2 parts. So if this ship is selling good enough, fine with me don't throw in, but if they need more sales I am just stating what it will take to get one out of me.
5000 ZEN for 1 ship and 2 extra consoles is not 33% savings.
Lets face it most people if they buy this ship are only going to fly one version but you want us to buy all variants for 5000 ZEN if we want the console set?
That's like 50 dollars / 40 euro, seriously who is doing market research at Cryptic? have you any idea what 50 dollars would buy in other F2P MMOs?
There no value in this, are you out of your Ferengi minds?!
This whole thing has just been one big mess that's cost Cryptic what little faith i've had in them.
First they take the free anniversary ship and place it firmly behind a per character paywall/grind all while still telling us that it's free.
Then they have the audacity to make it so you can't get the entire Dyson set without doing all of the grinding AND paying, but each faction has it's own $50 store bundle. Meaning that to get the full set of our Free ship we need to:
Grind 15 days per character, or outright buy it.
Grind the mission a few times for the first set (which isn't as bad)
then spend $150 on top of that to get the full set for a minimum of Three characters (1 per faction)
This officially makes Cryptic worse for Star Trek than JJ Abrams. He was admittedly not a Trek Fan, who just wanted to make a movie for everyone to enjoy. Cryptic is supposedly a bunch of Trek Fans, ruining the IP for the sake of money, which is directly against everything the IP stands for.
Season 8 was specifically adding more grind, and 8.5 allows then to control more of when that grind happens. They might as well call Season 9 and any season after that "Star Trek: The Search For More Money" because that's all they've care about any more. They don't care about the IP, they don't care about the fans, they don't even care about the quality of their own games.
I played the anniversary mission once, then tossed the Dyson rewards. This isn't Star Trek anymore, it's "Generic Space Grind".
That was fast, I wasn't expected them to be out this fast. I will keep the buying option open for one in the future. As I don't have a proper Captain to make use of it. Once I get a Sci up and going. Then I will consider it.

Excellent post I agree. I won't do grind+pay, and I won't grind an event that was supposed to be fun and non grindy like previous anniversary events.
Its getting to the point where anything called an "event" isn't even something to look forward too, just another dreaded grind.
As for bundles being per faction well its always been that way like getting the Bortasqu bundle doesn't give the Odyssey bundle, but the discount could be a little more to encourage getting all 3 factions instead of just 1 bundle.

I don't think so no..
Should have been a one ship per faction bundle. 3 identicle ship bundle per faction is almost criminal.
I'm sure we'll get an introductory dev blog when they do.
Meanwhile....
How's that raider flanking coming, guys?
And what's the scoop on those escort targeting computers?
But how else would they manage to get all the fanboi's to take out a second mortage for virtual goods?

It had better come with an I win button at that price.

If you buy 1 ship and decide to buy the bundle later, you are already at a loss and spending more than you should have .
By the way, is this the same for the other in game bundles ? Or is this ineligibility a new Dyson "feature" ?
Personally, I've considered buying 1 piece, but I guess I'll skip.
