Size does matter. 8000 MB?

Today I logged in and the new patch is 8000 MB. Is that correct?

    Mine was around 370 MBs.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Yep ... didn't check the actual size, but it only took about 10 mins, so on my so as %^&$ internet here in Australia, that's probably about right ...

    Sounds like the OP's launcher was trying to re-download the whole game again ...

    Really need to make a FAQ of the different things people notice when patching/downtimes/etc. :P


    What you see when it says 7000-8000 MB in the patch is the file sizes of everything it's changing. Unless you are REALLY behind (or installing for the first/third/billionth time), you will not even come close to downloading that amount.

    Yes and it is downloading it to a whole different folder. Even though that folder is not the one set up as the download folder. At least I only have 4000 MB left.

    Are you accidentally patching Tribble Server instead of Holodeck?

    I play every day so I am not behind. But it is downloading it as a new download to a whole new folder and I cant change it.

    No I have the correct server selected and I have on demand patching checked. I have checked everything. I havent changed any of my settings

    o_O Did you run it via ARC for the first time and instead of adding the game location just tried adding it from the PWE games library?

    Since you guys told me that 8000 MB was not normal. I logged in using my other computer and it is patching now.....362 MB. Its not my gaming computer but at least I can play until this computer finishes its huge down load. Dont they know I have stuff to do. My gaming career is not going to advance by itself haha

    The given patch sizes can't be true anyway^^

    Currently I'm stuck witth EXTREMLY slow internet, and with the internet here downloading 340-400 mb would take at least two hours, still those ca 400 mb patch are usually done within 10 minutes...

    Not that I'd complain....

    Well on my other computer the smaller patch is already complete. But a 8000 MB patch takes many hours. So I guess it will be many more hours till I can use my computer since it still has 4000 MB left
