Also, as mentioned in the blog, the Apex can equip the console from the escort. It's got some pretty cool VFX when it does: because it's so large, when it's doing the "flip/ u-turn" (I think there are 3 different VFX for the "flip" that plays at random, btw), it fires off thrusters/ retro-rocket visuals from the sides since it would need that due to its size.
Quick question: Are the Nausicaan Destroyers included in the escort/raptor/raider category for the purposes of the console?
I understand that the veteran Heavy Destroyers occupy a position that has more hp but less maneuverability than Escorts. But the Nausicaan ships are pretty much identical in stats to Escorts, and are only described as Destroyers because they're not Federation and aren't Raptors. Will this mean that they can't flip around, just because of their name?

Thanks for finally changing the mirror universe ships awarded out during this new lock box. I hope this is a step in the right direction, of making new mirror ships available for each faction, for each new lockbox theme that comes out.
So, far, this sounds like the next best lockbox, since the Tal-Shiar box, really looking forward to it.

The "old" design would probably makes me create a new char for that alone; the new ones don't really makes me want them. BUT!: The old one was never really a hirogen ship. Its the random alien battleship for every species that did not had its own. From that standpoint I do agree the a unique design is better; it makes more sense.
Short: Give the old one to fly & the new one to shoot at

Not wanting to turn this into a small fleet vs big fleet thing, but being in a small fleet one is unable to get such shinnies. Probably the reason a lot of small fleets have given up on the fleet grind altogether. My fleet isn't tiny, about 40-60 players but we are struggling and the so called help from the Dev's towards small fleets never really came about.
At least with the Mirror Negh'Var it's easily available as they will start to flood the exchange and are fairly common when opening boxes on a KDF character. The Fleet Kamarang isn't so much at least for the large quantity of fleets that aren't large.

people think about fleets the wrong way. small fleets are dumping grounds for gaining creds, you use the massive amount of maxed out fleets to get your gear. theres even been dev blogs about public access channels to set this up. i think all you need is a tier 3 yard to get a fleet kamarang. its worth it for the 10th console, 1.5 better turn rate, and beefier stats.
I wanted to pop in and let you know we discovered an error in the listed seating for the Hirogen Apex Heavy Battlecruiser. It was way off. The blog should be updated soon (if it hasn't already been updated). It is actually: Lieutenant Commander Tactical, Commander Engineering, Lieutenant Science, Ensign Universal, Lieutenant Universal.

The Apex looks lot better than the old one. Since its actually based off the ship over the older look. Since they just threw it in there. I'm glad they decided to update the Hirogen ships. And offering them to be used. I been wanting this for a long while.

I'm very excited about the new Hirogen ships and I'll be spending some hard-earned cash on keys next month to get both the Hirogen escort and the cruiser.
That said, I was hoping the escort would be a little different in terms of the BOff layout since everything we've seen on Voyager about the Hirogens suggests they are very good at science ... at least when it comes to sensor abilities.
For example, in VOY the Hirogen could track ships that Voyager's sensor's couldn't and even their ground weapons had advanced tracking sensors (something I was glad to see you're adding to the Hirogen ground gear.
I would have loved to see a Lt. Commander Science BOff station on the escort just like the cruiser ... it would make sense for the Hirogen.
In any case, I've VERY excited about these new ships. Great work!

The Fed and KDF Mirror Ship stats remind me of the Ambassador/Kamarag Retrofits, expically on their BOFF seating. Sure they also drop an Eng Console Slot for an additional Sci Console slot and Hull HP and looks are different as well.

The Apex's console can only be used on Hirogen ships. The Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort's console was considered WAY too cool not to share with Escorts, Raptors and Raiders. So, it is the exception to the rule.

This is just a guess, since I haven't seen the actual scale of the new Apex vessel, but I'm guessing that it's too small to be a Venatic. Venatics were almost as wide as Voyager was long.

That was my thought as well. With the high hull value and shield mod, 5 ENG consoles, and the ability to use the HET module, it does have some unique potential. Slap 5 of the fleet neutronium/turn rate consoles on it - with an ENG captain spec'ed for durability it could be a real beast.
