What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

Exit button for Arc

In trying to close Arc, there's the three buttons, minimize, maximize, and exit. Only the exit button doesn't exit Arc, it minimizes it to the system tray. Any chance we can have that button do what the tooltip highlight says (exit) and have it actually log you off and close the program? It's a longer and less efficient process the way it is now. I either log off, confirm that, and then wait for it to load so I can exit from the login screen. Or ia have to go to the system tray, bring up the icon, right click and select exit.

Seems to be a common thing programs are doing now. Click the exit button, but it doesn't truly exit.

The new interface looks better than the old one.

Sounds like it works exactly the way Steam does. Imagine that...a Steam-wannabe/clone behaving like Steam.

All the more reason to use Steam to avoid ARC like the plague it is. :D

How are they supposed to mine your data and monitor your activities if you're allowed to close the client? ;)

There is a way to force shutdown it.

    End process tree, task manager.

Or you could write a batch file to force it via this http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/ntcmds.mspx?mfr=true command.

A lot of TSR programs like this refuse to die gracefully. If they refuse to go quietly, you drag em kicking and screaming.

Be sure to use ccleaner or similar to remove it from auto-start if you want to do that.

Actually, if you "Exit" Steam, it shuts down the process. You know, the way a program that *isn't* wanna-be spyware does.
"Participation in PVP-related activities is so low on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis that we could in fact just completely take it out of STO and it would not impact the overall number of people [who] log in to the game and play in any significant way." -Gozer, Cryptic PvP Dev

    Read closely:
Or ia have to go to the system tray, bring up the icon, right click and select exit.

This, as an alternative to clicking the "X" at the top right of the open Steam window, which minimizes it to the system tray. Get it now?
