The shield thing I could agree with for consistency with space, but then I'm biased as I've never considered cloaking to be anything but lame gameplay on the ground. Space cloakers pay a high enough price for it, but on ground properly built tacs can still sit at 0m range and not be detected without strike force, tric scan or w/e. Having no shield when cloaked might force them to de-cloak and ya know play the game instead of just ganking and running away.
Honestly, I don't think players under stealth module should lose their shields. Players under stealth module already lose the ability to run and runspeed is reduced by 50% while the ability is active. Anyone that can see a cloaker has a very long period of time to kill the cloaker. Whereas with Space, the player actually gets a movement buff, which assists in their ability to escape further. A cloaked player detected on the ground is a sitting duck for all intents and purposes.
With all of the defensive power creep, it is easier than ever before to resist operative strikes anyway. Shattering Harmonics provides perfect detection, rendering cloak on ground risky at best. I think Sutherland just wants to take away shields so he can exploit Shattering + Physicist to one hit kill Operatives from 30 meters with no effort, which he'd be able to do if Operatives didn't have shields.
What? You didn't realize this was hello kitty online?
Though it is amusing how there are fewer and fewer Caitians on the map with every new patch fixing some exploit associated with the Caitian required/optional racial traits.

I remember when you showed up on ground; you've only been around for a month or two. Yet you'd have me believe that you are an early beta player just now posting on the forums after almost four years ? Yeah...nice try.
You are nowhere near the top of the threat list, most of the game you hide, popping up once and again to shoot off fire and forget attacks.

*yawn* surprised you guys don't get shut down for thread hijacking. This is what 4?5? threads that digressed into jabs at each other. What was this topic about? Making a canine playable race to chase cats around?

This probably was a topic to make a race to chase cats out, but I do not really think caitians are much of a problem. If what I had said is disturbing to anyone of you, please state why you hate caitians in Shanty Town so much and I'd consider changing my opinions. Until then, I think personally they're not a problem.
My opinion at least about this all, because I see some users got off-topic and chose to hurl words at each other.
A Catain with the new Hirogen ground trait. Off to dodge everything now.
A caitian with new hirogen ground trait is sure dangerous indeed. This way caitian will be able to dodge everything. Perhaps we should consult with Cryptic regardings to this issue? Because it would be annoying and everyone would go cats. And those who won't be able to go kitty kat mode...
... will get annihilated to say at least.

A keen survival instinct allows you to diminish the advantage that foes can get by outmaneuvering you, reducing the danger posed by being Flanked.
Each time you are Flanked, you receive a short duration Dodge bonus.
Pack Leader
Your hunting acumen allows you and your allied teammates to more regularly gain the advantage over foes. This translates to an increased likelihood of landing Expose effects, and the duration of those effects.
You and nearby teammates have an increased chance to Expose, and increased Expose duration.
Do you really need to frontly insult somebody in a STO Forums topic? Way to go, Ground PvP community, we just proved to others we're insane.
It wasn't intended to be an insult, I was speaking bluntly on his claim that I would leave the game if he "tried to kill me" in a match. That's exactly how I feel on the issue, I don't consider him to be much of a threat alone because in all honestly...he isn't.

To say the least indeed, I groaned at the sight of that trait. Cryptic just fixed dodge stacking and then they had to go and release this abomination. Though the Hirogen armor has the most potential to wreak havoc on mechanics, it would completely disrupt the stealth portion of the game. Eliminating Operative as a viable kit puts a hole in the point-counter-point that exists within Ground PvP. If you get rid of even one kit, it unbalances the rest of the metagame.
i saw them in the blog, along with the space ones...the ground ones look decent, and the space ones look like TRIBBLE...guess ground is going to finally have a 30m gene sequencer once this box goes bye-bye

A good portion of ground players already use cats, hence threads like this popping up from time to time.
Not a lot of detail on this trait, how much is the bonus, how long does it last etcetera. That and the armor giving a Large hp bonus has left me a bit confused. Prior to S4 I recall my chars having 644 shield and 964 health. The game was slower with everyone having such durability and Crossfire significantly increased the speed of the ground game in PVP. Spike became deadlier and pressure damage for classes that couldn't spike was a real threat. Lately, I've found my pressure damage builds less effective then they used to be. Auto-refilling shields, stacked up dodge and now food buff stacking that seems to have caught on. The game has gotten noticeably slower and that isn't necessarily a good thing. Meh, no one wants to die but someone has too eventually. :P
LOL! The red part made me laugh coming from you tira.
Seriously? Do you really need to act like this? Go solve it in PMs if you must, but in this case, your personal self-interest of defense is off-topic here right now. This was originally a little forum PvP between thay (Sutherland) and Tira, and that's over. Don't provoke it too much.
I apologize for the off-topic.
