Those were already confirmed on the 15th this week as being hybridized with tech reverse-engineered from the Dyson Sphere...aka The Solanae's technology.
Make's little sense unless the Undine and Solanae have origins somewhere in there...which they don't last I checked.
Could be interesting, have not had a good fight in sto for a long time
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Does the BranFlakes starship come with Console - Universal - I Win Button? Perhaps Console - Universal - Foundry God Mode Toolset on the BranFlakes Lobi starship?
So the Voth are fighting an enemy that uses green energy weapons for control of Omega particles.
Hmm... which other Delta Quadrant power uses green energy weapons and has a known canonical interest in Omega particles?
I seriously doubt the Voth are under siege from the Borg. The Borg are small and insignificant compared to the might of the Voth fleet. My first guess would be the Iconians or one of their lackeys.

Except they Borg aren't "insignificant".
Your argument is quite shallow. If Cryptic wants to make the Borg up to the Voth, they can do it. It fits Canon. The Borg adapt, after all.
The Borg are still our best bet.
And here am I, hoping the Borg-Undine War will be present on a more prominent level from now on.
And yeah, throw the Voth in there, too.
Super power battle, with us in the middle. And compared to those three, we are the only insignificant ones.
"Today on This Old Starship, we're going to show you how to spruce up your old bioroids with a brand-new plasma array. We're also going to remodel the exterior, and give the AI a good polishing!"
This totally cracked me up.

If the Voth are under attack from the Borg, would the Voth consider making a temporary alliance with the Undine to tip the balance of power in their favour? I'd imagine the Borg would become aware at some point of the Voth's attempts at obtaining Omega Particles on the Dyson Sphere, and both the Voth and the Undine certainly wouldn't want the Borg acquiring those anytime soon.

How about Branflakes the doff? Chance to placate on nerd rage.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Problem thinking the Voth need any help is that the cut-scenes state that the Voth and Borg are equals in combat ability. They probably know the Borg want Omega which is why some (aka...the Elders) got the 'bright' (aka> STUPIDLY INSANE BAD!) idea to weaponize Omega against The Borg.
I am reminded of a line from JP now.

It's hirogen lockbox now everybody shut up, it comes with tetryon burn weapons, new doffs ofc, hirogen battlecruiser and escort, also we are getting second deflector to sci ships, and new episodes

Well, that sounds nice and all, and I'll look forward to seeing what else you have cooked up, but a word of friendly advice.
Please don't forget about the lower level missions fed side where you have to face off against the Undine, and by that I mean, don't forget that the ships should be balanced for new players. I remember the F2P conversion and the un-killable Undine ship in the nebula, even with the Klink ships for support. Thank you.
I wouldn't worry overly - one of the things already known about 8.5 is that they're doing an overhaul of the Klingon War missions, and indeed the current changes include bumping down to lower categories (as in, facing a frigate instead of a dreadnaught). There was some worry that it might be too large a drop in challenge, actually - guess we found out that Cryptic had an idea behind that after all.

Some people have done some digging through the files being downloaded with tribble patches. If you want to verify patch up your tribble and have a look.
Unless ofcourse cryptic was just laying decoy files, always a possibility.

Not only would such a concept by awesome in its scope, but would hopefully allow Cryptic to tie up those dangling plot threads from the very beginning of STO, and even connect them with the current plotline.
It might also present a chance for the three playable factions to get finally get some unique content to themselves once such a conflict got off the ground. The Romulans could finish up the storyline with the Voth, and share their personal experience with messing around with things one shouldn't be. The Klingons could finally get closure with the Undine, and possibly bring the Federation-Klingon war to an end as well (something they've hinted as being a possible future development). And the Federation could be tasked with the greatest challenge of all: convincing the Borg to help against the Iconians.
And with the Federation, KDF, Romulan Republic, Voth, Undine, and Borg now all begrudgingly working together, you also have the possibility of making one or more of those new allies the next playable faction/sub-faction that they've also been hinting about.
But of course, the above is all completely fanciful speculation....

Updated Undine in STO - Undine Lockbox on the way! The Dev asked why they would update the Undine and for us to stay tuned, I think it's pretty obvious why, an Undine lockbox is just around the corner. It fits in nicely with the expansion into the Delta Quadrant, the place in the galaxy where the Undine were first discovered battling the Borg who classified them as species 8472.
This is a welcome move by Cryptic, to me the Undine have always felt significantly weaker than the Borg and even their dreadnoughts have been a pushover. Following the lockbox I would expect to see a new batch of Undine STFs within the Delta Quadrant.
I was just thinking to myself, "I feel a lockbox coming on."
I...
Am so ready.
It has already been confirmed by branflakes that it is NOT an Undine lockbox. He did however give a one word clue behind the Undine revamp .... The word was Redacted. The majority are therefore thinking Terradome.

I hope so. I was a mere newb when it was removed(if I remember correctly), so I haven't had a chance to play it yet.
Are the Undine on the ground also getting a revamp? They could definitely use some abilities based around their impressive immune system and biogenic field, also some new melee attacks would be good; something like the Voth raptor leaping grapple attack for example.
Just to elaborate on what I was suggesting: The Undines immune system would make them highly resistant to tactical, science and engineering debuffs, while their biogenic field would increase their ground defense, and while in close range to them, also prevent tactical captains from beaming down security teams, and also stopping engineering captains from using orbital strike as well as fabricating turrets, mines and drones. I'm sure Cryptic could come up with an appropriate distance you'd need to be from the Undine to stop this debuff to your captain, and allow you to summon fabrications or security teams once more.

Assimilated Ship Lockbox with Borg anti-Undine tech?
"They're baaaaaack~"
Poor Harry Kim... ._.
Vorlons? Ha! The Undine would kill entire Vorlon armadas faster than you could say Babylon 5.
