    Thanks Cryptic!

That was fun. Though I didn't get me the ship, I did get some neat stuffz and on top of that I now have enough Lobi to get a new ship!

Oh! And once again my doff crews are on assignment LOL.

Kill should still count since. You're effectively dead when you activate that console.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

If that was intentional it's pretty damn funny. You turned 1 sentence into 2 and answered the question in a similar manner it was asked, poor grammar and all. :D

You're just full of surprises. Keep up the good work Brandon. :)

(This makes me wish the forums had a like button even more.)

If you like carriers do everything you can to get this ship now!!! Even if you have zero desire to use it.

From past trends you will have to own this ship to be able to buy it as a frigate pet for your voth city ship...

Is it just me or is this ship better in every way then the Bastion Voth FDC? Does the Bastion have any advange compared to the Bulwark FDC? I mean other then having a cooler name?

At least my Fleet Corsair has an extra point of turn rate over this beast.

Just about as "Dreadnought" as the Galaxy Dread. I prefer the Scimitar and Jemmie Dread a lot.

And that bit made me decide I wasn't interested as well ... :) ... but then I have enough ships.

Completely useless with only one hangar bay, I don't see the advantage over what the Bastion already brings.

The bastion only has one hangar bay too doesn't it?

Yes, it also only has one hangar bay..... however the console on the Bulwark is a joke. In PvP, easy to adapt to.. in PvE will be easy targets. Voth Battle Cloak is silly, where is the ship gonna go?

Maybe if it had 2 hangar bays I'd be interested.

Need picture of comparison. If I remember that Dreadnought from my 1 match in Sphere Space (I am not particulary enthousiastic of S9), its pretty huge. Like really huge. Can somebody take a picture next to a Vo'Quv (1500 meters)? I want to see how much bigger that Dreadnought is combined with the same turn rate as the Sovereign (750 meters). Ow, another screenshot request!

But off topic. What do we get?

    1) The most tanky ship of 'em all. No argument possible, it has a self revive.
    2) A console that gives a third bonus that is 'meh'.
    3) Something that won't blast the stars out of the skies
    4) A ship that will only be useful, unlike other cruisers, in PvP, and that will dominate in the tanking role. Well then. Even if I ever get the sudden weird thought of entering a PvP..... guess I can try to be sciency until we get the *REDACTED* Doff pack Sci Vessel.

    I just have one question
    1) Can the ship explode? I mean: if it explodes, then there isnt much for the console to heal, right? So to my actual point: can the console only be used during the 4 seconds of deathrolling when we are all flickering right before the warp core breach?

Voth Bastion Flight Deck Cruiser (1 Hanger Bay)

    Crew:1,500
    Hull Strength: 44,000
    Turn Rate:6
    Impulse Modifier:0.15
    Inertia rating:20
Voth Bulwark Dreadnought Cruiser (1 Hanger Bay)

    Crew: 2000
    Hull Strength: 45,000
    Turn Rate:7
    Impulse Modifier:0.15
    Inertia rating:35

Devs, did you just make the 1 month old Voth Bastion FDC obsolete?

Bulwark has better stats in every way...

Bulwark is BIGGER (But uglier, maybe this balances it? ;))
Bulwark has MORE HULL (45k vs 44k)
Bulwark has MORE CREW (2000 vs 1500)
Bulwark has BETTER TURN (7 vs 6)
Bulwark has BETTER INERTIA (35 vs 20)

This doesn't add up to me. How can a Bulwark with more hull/crew/size move faster and turn better than the smaller, lighter, less-hulled Bastion FDC?

Same way the Romulan tactical ships are as big as cruisers but can still turn like escorts.

Dont take the game more seriously than the devs, you just end up trolling yourself

    1) Hire software engineers

    2) Software engineers are expected to fully understand a system before making changes to it.

    3) And when you understand a system you can make a list of most of the different scenarios you will need test.

    4) You are expected to test these before submitting it to QA

It feels like only #1 is happening in STO. Perhaps it IS time to pay motivated engineers with lockbox ships for some part time consulting services to get things back on track. :D

I'll do the testing if it got me that ship free of charge. Honestly I've been testing all sort of stuff for games for a while now bur I get the feeling they wouldn't really have me test for them just for that ship.

It would be nice if the odds on winning the ship were heavily increased in the players favour.
The current system though is a complete rip off.

its one of those ships thats deceptively large like the kdf carriers and ha'apax, unlike the scimitar and d'deridex. though huge ships, they are both hollow or lanky, this is an extreamly thick ship, who's core body holds a huge amount of volume

i would love for them to release a stat with each ship detailing just how much space the model displaces inside the modeling program. that would be a true measurement of size, and should be the single factor that determines inertia score and turn rate of each ship

That would make too much sense and thus will probably never happen.

After all, making money in a F2P game kinda relies on arbitrariness.

Who in their right mind thinks a high quality game with proper game mechanics and stats (that make sense) would sell nowadays? Oh silly you.

Some nice doffs, and another tank ship... that console also seems like a second miracle worker if you have an engineer, plus the set that gives you battle cloak... wouldn't that make you really really incredibly hard to be beaten?

sorry if i offended you alan171717 :) well it will be the same thing as the winter event ship yeh some will grind it 1-2 even 3 months some several weeks but in the end everyone will be happy and thats the most improtant thing

The Wnter Event is so broken, that despite trying to play almost every day since the event started LAG has made it effectively unplayable. The most Races completed by any of my chars is only 4. Yes lag has fouled me up that badly. Rubberbanding is also a cuplrit but a far lesser one. It is most unlikely any of my chars will be getting any new ships this year. I will not be holding my breath for a one-in-a-million maybe that has impressive stats and an OMG/WTF-They Didn't!!!-appearance.

Given the rate at which the Galor's prices are climbing on the Exchg, my hopes of ever getting just one have died. Over 250 lock boxes i have opened and got tons of TRIBBLE for it. Nothing special. Just TRIBBLE.

For a limited time only, there is a chance to receive the brand-new Voth Bulwark Dreadnought Cruiser or Lobi Crystals upon opening a Romulan Survivor Duty Officer Pack! Read more for full details.

    = = = = = =

EXCLUSIVE: As an added bonus, owners of a Voth Palisade Science Ship or Voth Bastion Flight Deck Cruiser can equip the Ward Repair Ship Universal Console (details in the link above) that is found on the Voth Bulwark Dreadnought Cruiser on one of those ships. Equip all 3 special Voth consoles on one of the three aforementioned ships for a special set bonus power: Voth Battle Cloak

JUST UPDATED: Additionally, as of today, the Duty Officer Roster Slots cap has been increased from 400 to 500 slots. You can purchase additional slots in increments of 25 or 100 through the in-game C-Store.

Well, this is all well and good, but I just spent 5k zen on the survivor packs and didn't get a bulwark. Best I got was 1 30% phaser relay. So, bran, what exactly is the calculated chance to win one of these? Or should I just wait until the prices in the exchange drop below criminal levels and get it there? Because it seems that I'd be better off simply buying a few million ec's from an outside source rather than wasting more zen.

So 5k Zen is around 18 Packs so you want a 1 in 18 chance?

Try 1 in 1000 PWE don't want to give you a Ship they are only interested in your Money any type of Gambling in MMOs that cost Real money should be banned IMHO and it is just an Opinion before the Fanboys come in with you can buy from exchange for EC they still cost someone Money to be listed there.

This is why Older ships wont ever get fixed there is no Money in it for PWE I'm afraid if you dont want to loose dont Gamble sad but True :)

An optimistic estimate* for the chance of the lockbox-jackpot is 0.5% (half a percent). The article says they 'normalized' the odds of the jackpot from the doff-pack compared to lockboxes. With the doff-pack costing 275 Zen and lockbox keys 125 Zen, this means a multiplier of up to 2.2. Because Cryptic calculates with the value of all possible rewards (they said somewhere the average 'value' of lockbox rewards would be 175 Zen) and the doff-pack rewards more lobi than lockbox average (10 vs. <6) the real multiplier might be lower.

Assuming 1.1% ( = 2.2 x 0.5%) chance for the ship, you will reach an approx. 50% chance of obtaining the Voth ship after opening 62 doff-packs ( = 17050 Zen) and a 99% chance after 416 doff-packs ( = 114400 Zen). Remember, those are the optimistic numbers. There's also always the possibility you'll never get the ship from opening the packs.

If you want a guaranteed reward, and as long as the ship is offered on the exchange, you're better off converting Zen to EC (e.g. by selling master keys) and then buying the ship from the exchange.

    * tests on recent lockboxes showed lower rates: [Elachi lockbox 0.18%] [Voth lockbox 0.33%]
