Freezing At Loading Screen Since This Morning

Hello, since earlier this morning, at the 'Cryptic' loading screen when starting up the game, the bar freezes when halfway through.

I found out that "Windows Command Center" needed permission to make changes to my computer.

It stays frozen until I alt-tab out and allow this.

It's annoying having to do it every time the game starts up. Once again, this started today.

Did Cryptic do some kind of hotfix or what? Is this a memory leak?

    The problem isn't Cryptic's - it's your PC as the 'Windows Control Center' you describe is actually a piece of Malware that you should remove:

    Okay, I'm running a scan now....problem is, this is called Windows 'Command' Center, not Windows 'Control' Center. I am getting none of the symptoms as described in the link.

    I also can't seem to find much on this particular issue.


    EDIT: After some digging I found that it's an Alienware program for controlling my lights in my case, "Command Center", verified by Windows, etc. For some reason it is suddenly trying to modify its settings when STO is launched. This is brand new behavior. Trying to get to the bottom of it.
