New KDF ships. Fact or Fiction?

I had heard a rumor that someone somewhere from cryptic said we'd be getting two new KDF ships soon. One around now and one right after the first of the year.

One was supposed to be a 5fore bop, the other was our own "avenger".

I'm assuming that this winter reward ship (although actually 5tac, not 5fore) is the rumored bop (cross faction. figures) but is our avenger coming or have I fallen prey to the rumor mill and got my hopes up for no reason?

    The Breen Raider is not our new BoP,its pure gift from the Winter event, and the Mogh class battle cruiser was accidently sneak peeked yesterday in the shipyard.
    Keep your hopes up and do not forget to let the Devs know we are thankful for the Flanking buff for raiders.

    Someone didn't grab a screen shot by any chance?

    I've tried searching for it, but when I get a link to the forum, I don't have permission to view the post...

    SSHHHHH, its super top secret guys, the info was cracked down on faster than you could blink. But I will say it is sexy. This with the BoP upgrades make me feel so loved.

    All posts about it have been deleted very fast. You could see it on tribble and holodeck for a short period of time but buying one did nothing.

    So if you pronounce the ship's name or post a screenshot there is a very high chance it will get deleted :D
    Better you just look at avenger's specs and wait for the model.

    Googled it too. Well. That's way awesome. Very happy with that, I will be. Definitely getting that. I mean, I was going to, anyway, just to help make the point that KDF players buy stuff too, but I really look forward to using that thing! Great stats and I actually like the looks, too.

    Glad I got as many KDF characters as I do, so I won't have to choose between focussing the new and improved BoP's or this beast :D

    Even with it being just a copy+paste of the avenger ( albeit a tad different ) its what the KDF needs.
    More ships , even if they ARE blatant copies , bring much needed love and variation :)

    Here's hoping the sales on it convince cryptic to do it with other ships too.

    The funny thing is that the KDF already has a ton of battlecruisers, but when the Fed decides to make one, the KDF immediately goes and steals the design and makes that one too.

    Build ALL the battlecruisers!

    yeah , which is ironic when you read the blurb about it in the shipyard ( cant really say what it says or thread may vanish in a poof of smoke again )

    Im just happy there's a new ship , that actually looks useful

    Too bad it's visually a barely modified Peghqu.

    well , the one seen was a fleet version , whos to say a c-store version wont have slighlty different hull parts

    Really? Then you might as well say that for the feds, all the ships with rounded saucers and warp nacelles sticking out to the rear and sides are all barely modified versions of eachother.

    Well it was a true statement.
    This whole KDF focus has gotten me thinking though..I wonder what Fed and/or science nechanic they are going to introduce to the game to buff Science play when the new Fedntutorial goes live? With the mention of Sciencr ships possibly having use for two deflectors the possibilities could be interesting.
    Finally the factions may feel less similiar with the KDF force oriented and the feds/science being science tricky.
    What ever the future holds, Im enjoying the changes so far that I have seen.
    Its even renewed that oldnvigorntonplay STO more often than I have been lately.

    Yeah. We felt the same way when we saw carriers roll out on the Fed. The Avenger was created in response of the KDF battle Cruisers so it makes sense that the KDF would counter with some espionage and a quickly built vessel in response.
    and it looks the part visually. Which is fine by me!

    I have to say I'm rather excited about the ship that must not be named ... of course, I'm also a fan of the FED Avenger-class so ....

    True, there is certainly precedent for that in the Avenger. I was hoping for something a little more distinctive than a redressed Vet ship though.

    All that's changed between the known screenshot and the Peghqu are some of the hull trimmings. The proportions and layout are otherwise EXACTLY the same. That's a far cry from the differing dimensional relationships between primary hull, secondary hull, warp nacelles and saucers that Fed ships have.

    Or to put it another way: the relationship between the Peghqu and the Vor'cha, or the Peghqu and the Bortas is the kind of "similar but clearly different" that most Fed designs share. The relationship between the Peghqu and this new ship is not remotely the same.

    Well , in terms of design , its always easier to adapt an already workable spaceframe into a different class than build a new ship entirely , thats probably the intention here, that or they want to try and establish some kind of continuity between the various ships

    ( that or laziness )

    I kind of like it. I checked it out on Tribble last night, to me it looks like a Negh'var, a Pegh'qu and a Bortasqu had a threeway.
