Holiday Commodity / Event Rewards Feedback

Andorian Sleigh Bells and the Bajoran Prayer Beads, are their drop rates enough for this year's Winter Event?

This year, the Winter Wonderland Store has practically doubled in Inventory and new players and players with new Romulan characters are in a bit of a bind in having to choose this year. With 1 Uncommon Drop from the Snowman Fights, I don't think is going to cut it this year. Last year we had the snow botters providing the community with the extras we needed to complete our shopping lists or finishing our Fleet Projects (which some small fleets never completed, because it required some grinding).

So I personally would like the Team to increase the Drop rates. Maybe this would be a good long-term solution to players doing the Gingerbread Town event after they finish their accolades? Or perhaps a supplemental reward for the PvP Race?

What you think?

Those two ingredients have always been TRIBBLE poor drops, but you were able to gain them thru snow pile digging for which they have eliminated this year. Instead they put in a pie eating contest and invasion mission to get some extras from, but they both come with lengthy cd's leaving you with too much downtime for gaining ingredients to really purchase everything you could want for alts.

I rather don't want the return of the botting, but the amounts you need have gone up. So I can understand what you are getting at.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

I'm not really worried about getting the stuff I want, more about if my fleet mates will actually donate to the project, ESPECIALLY the uncommon items.

I mean, I can generate a pretty good amount of stuff by myself, but I am still only one person, and nothing promises ever giving the uncommon items.

Indeed, I had enough surplus of the commons that first thing I did was buy my Romulans the Boots I been itching for, for months.

But the uncommons, I had one or two left over. Just not understand how Cryptic wants us to have fun if we are struggling with bad drop rates. This supposed to be for fun, not another grind.

Wow I did the Gingerbread defending thing which was longer then damn space STF and my reward was 2 Candles and 1 Ornament ? You got to be kidding me Cryptic what a big waste of time...

Not do i think is it lame to have the same winter event all over again but i think its even lamer to let us grind more and more for as little reward as you possible can give out.

I think thats it for me with this stupid event last year was somewhat fun this year is a huge disappointment. Thanks for the Happy Hollicreeps.

Epohh tags too. Didnt we used to get them rarely while digging in the snow piles? Well now it seems like you can *only* get them from the pvp race... and then *only* if you place in the top 3. (We'll forgive that it wasnt working on the first day.) I realize you only need 6 per day (and the epohh breeding cooldown is 24 hours again, sigh... why not 20 hours or 22 hours...) but considering that only the top 2 spots will give you enough in any given race, that's a lot of waiting around for races to start AND hoping that you place...

Between that and the uncommon commodity shortage... honestly, if I hadnt had a bunch saved up from last year to get the skates for my new toons, I just wouldnt have bothered with it at all.

I was standing in the by the winter gazebo, looking at the fact that I had 20 tags from a couple of races, and was wondering what I was going to do, as I wanted to race, but didn't need loads of tags at the end of the WW. So I thought it could be a good idea to exchange 1-2 tags for a box with one of the holiday commodities, maybe even with a grand prize of 1 QPhoto.

I don't think this should be too much gain in commodities, and I think it would get people playing more races- therefore more people on for longer.

What do you think of this idea?

That 5 min Winter Invasion? Your entire party must have lacked even 1 snow gun.

I really don't have an issue collecting them, in fact, I've already bought everything I've wanted and have been making ridiculous amounts of EC selling them in the exchange, ridiculous as in 15 mill in 1 day. Of course the market for beads and bells is gonna crash within a couple days when people realize its not actually that hard to earn them, already got everything they want, and there becomes an excess of the product on the market. Which happens every seasonal event, but for now the getting is good.

It looks like it'll be a problem for anyone not willing to grind all day every day, but that is working as intended for cryptic

Good thing you have 35 days of the event to casually get whatever you want from the event store.

Yes, everyone has 35 days to do it.

So to get that amount, you have to do 240 snow battles, which depends if the beads and the bells evenly distributed in that number of battles. And to get that many you have to play about 7 battles per day. And that's not counting those in fleets having to depost their bells and beads, which they need 250 for these projects.

So yeah, it's all good! /sarcasm

Grind factor has been turned up a lot this holiday. No spirit of Christmas over at Cryptic I guess.

Even with 42 days, the drop rate for the uncommon stuff is way too low.

It's too low right now. Yesterday I was able to get all the other items needed for a snow gun (and then some) but still only have 4 beads and 1 bell. At the current drop rates, these should be purples and not greens lol.

Rescue the gingerbread men and defeat the Yeti for more rewards. Optionals are your friends.

the winter invasion is unbelievably quick and easy. but people do need to actually need to bring snowguns to it.

once people start to get it you will find the event goes quicker and quicker.

Make sure you get the optionals, they increase the reward at the end. Even if your team is filled with nothing but idiots who yell at you for lagging behind because you take the time to grab them (yes it has happened) GRAB THEM!

Even grabbing the optionals this should take you no more then 8 minutes tops, if it is taking longer you and your team are doing something terribly wrong. Longer then an STF? Don't make me laugh.

The uncommon drops really need to get hiked a bit. I have a hoard (30+) of all the other stuff and just one uncommon.

well... for the risa event we could use the tokens to get an egg. Granted, eggs were in general harder to get than tags, but....

    Dear devs:

Please guarantee at least one uncommon commodity from running the Winter Invasion PvE. I go and get all the gingerbread men (because most people just run past all of them), get the Yeti, and still, I've gotten a single uncommon item each day yesterday and today. Also, please change the whole recipe mechanics. I just went into an Winter Invasion, and 3 of the players just rushed to the Yeti cave right at the start.

also, you must interact with the gingerbread people to save them, if you don't, you're gonna get terrible rewards.
