Just saying. My main toon which is really the only one I play is at the limit plus the extras given by the vet rewards. With so many ships honestly I think they should raise it by maybe 10. Currently if I am not mistaken the limit is 30....I have 8 more because of the vet rewards. There are now so many ships out there and I like to use so many different types plus the lockbox ships, lobi ships, fleet ships, I own all or most of them....then of course your small craft and the new carrier.
So does anyone know if they are seriously going to possibly raise the limit? It would make sense. I know some people dont use that many but there are more and more on the game I am running into who want the limit raised. Just wanted to throw this out there.
I do think they might need to think of a new system.
Like the ability to rebox them and store them on a shelf. Because while C-store ships are always going to be there, free of charge, its not the same for Lobi, Lockbox, and some Free ships (like the Event reward ships).

This is exactly what i was going to say. Just a way to Reclaim the ship if you dismiss it, im starting to rack up fleet ships that i cant dismiss without essentially also losing about 500 - 2000 zen. (from Fleet Modules)
Inertia just means you can do Powerslides in you carrier!

I tend to keep my numbers of irreplaceable ships to a minimum, I only have 1 or 2 fleet ships on each character and if I do need to make space I drop levelling ships and then C-store ships and if that can't be done, then I have an issue and hop to grinding though I did just get more ship slots myself for the first time.
As long as we're paying for those slots, there's no logical reason to have a limit at all. Someone willing to pay for it should be allowed to keep one of every ship in the game.
Same goes for inventory/bank slots and doff roster slots, too. Sell us more!

Frankly, this is true. The same should go for Boff slots as well.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.

About 2 or 3 months back, I got an answer from a Dev about the Doff-Roster issue and he said that there were technical issues that were preventing them from increasing it. Might be the same for ships.

This, and maybe let your BOFFs use them when they raise the max BOFF rank to capt.
Well boffs arent as big of a concern but with the ships, they keep adding and adding and never raise the limit. Hell even raise the limit by like 6 or 8 or even 10 or something. THAT would be awesome. I have honestly stopped buying stuff from the c store and stopped buying lockboxes because since I cant get the ships as I am at the limit there is no point. I would seriously pay for more slots/ships if the limit was raised and they could make more money off of me and other as well.

They don't really need to raise the limit of active ships that we can have but It would be nice if they gave us a way to dry dock our vessels by letting us box them and put them in our banks or carry them in our inventory.
The boxes would be character bound so there would be no trading of ships but we should be able to crate any and every vessel we own stock, lockbox or Z-Store with its current equipment and devices intact.
With the above you can have has many ships has you want and you could put them in or pull them out of your active ship roster whenever you wanted.
The limit is for technical reasons -- we would love to allow more ship slots, and hope to be able to offer that in the future.

Is it possible to set it so once you buy a ship that is lock box or fleet that you can reclaim it free if you dismiss it? This would solve this problem rather quickly.

While I understand the reasons behind, there is still a concern. There are new free ships regularly. We must be close to 3-5/year. Those free ships can't be reclaim, no matter what, and they are lost FOREVER if deleted. I'm talking about the Risan corvette, the Breen ship...
Can you add them to the claim section of the Cstore once unlocked, so we can delete and retreive them at will ?
I do think they might need to think of a new system.

i belive there is a limit on the amount of ships you can have due to the system loading all your ships in when you load the character or something like that and would slow the game too much if you had more ships, i touted the idea of a dry dock for extra ship storage where you could place extra ships with all the kit mounted as is to take them away from your normal slots you could then switch them in and out as you needed.
they could give say 5 drydock spaces for free per character and then charge say 1000 zen for 5 extra drydock spaces.
this could vastly increase the overall ship storage to maybe double or more, but i guess they didnt like the idea or did not see my suggestion.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
As a side note, in a game that basically is a space exploration ( read combat) type, and is about a captain that is commanding a ship, is kinda of strange to limit the cap of ships you want. Granted this applies to me, and some other people that basically have one char that is buffed to the max, has all ships, a.s.o and not to the most of the players that create a lot of toons, and in theory can have a lot of ships. But also a known factor, this type of committed players, are the ones that provide constant income to Cryptic, so if they would offer to sell it in the Z-store, I think there will be a lot of buyers. But thats just my opinion.
They won't make any money selling ship slots in the store if we can box up old ships for storage.
They could if they made a special inventory tab just for ships where we could store our boxed ships and then sold us the tab with upgradable item slots.

Exactly my point. I have all the fleet ships through tier iv of the base, plus 2 lobi ships, plus 4 lockbox ships and all the c store ships. It adds up. Like you I basically play with one max toon and have two alts that i dont use that much. Im not saying make the limit 100 but raise it slightly....even by 6 slots would be cool with me.

I'm guessing the "technical limitations" mentioned would require recoding parts of the game and database engine based on similar posts in the past from developers.

I have no clue how you got that from my quote.
All I said is that it would be nice if they could let us box certain ships to free up ship slots when we have maxed our shipyard.
They won't make any money selling ship slots in the store if we can box up old ships for storage.
And they aren't going to make money if players maxed out their shipyard and can't purchase new ships. Or encourage players to play new events to get free ships if they don't want to do it, because they maxed out their shipyard.
That hits them significantly more financially than shipyard slots.

So true! However due to the strains it can put on the server I understand why there is a limit. They should just raise it.
