I haven't had any issues at all playing STO today, so the STO servers are fine...
It sounds like you might have a ISP/Internet Backbone issue. What does you 'Net Test' and 'Trace Route' network diagnostic results look like? Both utilities are described in this thread... http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=225155

Tried it. Nothing.
Still disconnects.
Cryptic Launcher
Autoupdate pops up.
Sometimes Launcher and giveups after five failed attempts.

You appear to enjoy boosting your post count. Assisting people doesn't even really seem to matter to you. You pretty much regurgitate standard troubleshooting without actually considering the circumstances that people present to you.
Your above post tells a lot about you. Summarized as "it works for me, it must be a you issue". Love it.
You realize theres many different routes to the server, right? And if a given route is not functioning, it may or may not affect you depending on if you take the route or not, right?
TRIBBLE it, lemme just show you this. See if you can see what the problem is...
OH wait, i'm sorry...this must be a "me issue". Nothing to see here.

....
Yes, of course I do... Speaking of which, have you tried using the Europe Proxy setting in your launcher, which could switch you to a different route... You should also post your information in the Networking section of the PWE Tech Support site, so that PWE IT people know about it, and can kick Cogent a few more times to try to get this fixed... http://techsupport.perfectworld.com/
And if posters aren't just complaining about their connection without providing the information to help them, then the only choice is to 'regurgitate standard troubleshooting' to get the info to provide help...
If seen enough diagnostic posts to see cases where people were blaming the STO servers when their router needed to be reset, or issues where the ISP were actively blocking the connection. So don't so easily discount what the diagnostic information can show...
Also keep in mind that this is a 'Peer to Peer' support forum. PWE keeps a closer eye on their Tech Support Forum postings...
Until that Cogent backbone gets fixed, it seems your only alternative is the last ditch one, using a VPN Client service. This is something I have no experience in myself, (as I haven't had the need to do so...) so Google is your friend here...

I got that problem from time to time.
You do know that Diagnostic utilities don't fix the problem. They provide the information to point out what the problem is....

Yeah, it won't even connect.
