We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, October 24th, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.
Thanks for your patience and understanding,

Ah... you guys goofed.
Odyssey and Bortasqu are now vastly imbalanced when compared. I fully expected to at least find the Bortasqu in the Dreadnought category - as of right now, there are NO Klingon Faction tanking ships at all, and we're forced to purpose our Flight-Deck Cruisers as Tanks instead of taking full advantage of those hangars.
How do you look at that list and NOT see it flawed?
One faction gets all the toys, on nearly all their popular ships, the other has to make sacrifices and chose?
Here's an idea - pull Weapon System Efficiency off of Cruisers. At least then I could understand what the heck you were thinking was balanced, and see an attempt at across the board support, as opposed to clear favoritism for the more profitable segment of your game, thus further guaranteeing the other segment will not see growth, and you can continue to delude yourselves into thinking the smaller size is a popularity issue, not a massive development failing.

I find it hilarious that one day Cryptic personnel go out of their way to explain why the anti-drain aura explicitly doesn't negate 25% of weapon drain, and the next trumpet that said aura does exactly that.
I guess STO's tooltips are so confusing even the Devs don't know what they're supposed to mean
I find it hilarious that the refer to the new REVAMPED reputation system lol. WTF have they revamped, NOTHING just added the TRIBBLE token to it. Unless something new has been added since last week.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
Personally I have concerns about the Bort's not getting the 4th command. One of my KDF engineers is tank spec'd, so my concern is that another cruiser running that particular command is eiher going to be a problem, or pretty much make my tank useless. On the other hand, it's possible my tank will still end up doing her job when the fed cruiser goes poof. lol
In one side is great to have this implemented so soon so ppl can benefit (finally) from Engineers Characters in-game. Unill today the only real use for them was in ground combat, whr their gadgets bright a lot, and as "I-cant-die" characters in space. They have normally 0 benefit for the group in Space untill u can farm ur special threat consoles, and most dont do this at all, actually avoiding threat as much as possible, cause u cant tank an Elite STF in ur fresh 50 vessel neither deal a good DPS, so u were basically a charge that the group must carry. Now u see ur usefullness improved by millions, u finally can be of use in the DPS-based system of the game (optionals timed and so) if u choose the right command for the right moment.
In the other side the faction that gets 0 benefit from them, Romulans, will see even less Engi characters now. It's simply pointless to create a Romulan Engi right now, cause u will get all the drawbacks of the Engi-Cruiser combo and 0 of the benefits that finally were implemented. Battle Cloak doesn't compensate for it at all, cause it's a defensive messure that throw aggro to others or a buff u set in urself, not much more during combats. At least 2 commands should have been placed in Romulan Tank-Warbirds like the Scimitar-Engi (no clue which of them is), the D'D or the Ha'pax. BTW, this last two must be the vessels i see less often in STFs, and probably i will not see them again with this.
So basically a BIG BRAVO for the implementation so fast, much needed for the Engi-class and Cruisers in general, and also a BIG QUESTION: Where is the place of a Romulan Engineer in space combat now? Will the Romulan tank vessels see any sort of command to improve the group and not only the Singularity powers/Battle cloak? (i think this last question have actually the answer to the why not to Romulans, but at least a threat and a movement command should be at disposal for them)
quit crying about romulans not getting anything they already got the toys they are tied to the warpcores.
this is for kdf and fed not romulan.
romulans still got the best gear.
Examples, please, cause i may have missed that awesome gear, the only real diff thing being a Singularity Core, and at same level the advantages/disanvantages of a Warp Core to a Singularity core are...... none ( ppl opening mouth in incredule astonishment  )
:P
WARNING, wall of text explaining points of view incoming. If u are alergic to read or other people points of iew, u should simply pass :P
Gonna edit to be more fair with the Romulan Faction and number somethings:
*By far the most little selection of spaceships and possibilities: If u are a Tactical and want a tactical ship, ur choose is between the Ha'f, the Mirror Ha'f or a Zen/Fleet ship, that leave ur possible selection of BOffs/Consoles layout, with the minimum u require from a vessel ( like a top-tac BOff or a top-Engi BOff or 4 Sci consoles, etc... ) like in a 2-3 choice at most if ur lucky, currently Engis have less choices in this faction, and Scis have even less than Engis. This could be corrected if they allow u to get ur faction ship, like u can untill level 40, but is not, so ur choice right now is the one above.
*Singularity Powers that are ALL auto-buffs u cant throw to others. If u are a selfish person or play a 0 support role, thats fine. In a group atmosphere thats not . Even if u are a DPS, cause u group may need some push/help and u can only provide it with BOff. Obviously speaking here of support classes that can go DPS, ergo Sci and Engi.
*Battle Cloaks, thats chain with the BOff skills, but again is a pure auto-buff or a desperate escape, both are pretty bad for a group challenge.
*And thats pretty much all, the other things being better in Federation/KDF vessels, at least with a way wider choice selection in them.
I think my point is clear. Im not asking to improve more the Romulans giving them a skill they currently have, like the 25% less drain, in a Singularity Power. Im trying to ask for them to be viable tanks.
All that i said throw me away from the Engi-class in the Romulans. In the end choosed Sci cause i liked the overall layout of Roms Sci vessels (1 lockbox, 1 normal and 1 mirror, decreased to 1 fleet-level only), but.....the faction need more than a simple roulette of autobuffs for some ppl, me included, that prefer group-play.
Examples, please, cause i may have missed that awesome gear, the only real diff thing being a Singularity Core, and at same level the advantages/disanvantages of a Warp Core to a Singularity core are...... none ( ppl opening mouth in incredule astonishment  )
:P
romulans get a aoe plasma burst, black hole, a heal. etc...
kdf and feds get aoe buffs (which will also benifit romulans if they are in range)

To be perfectly honest, for as little as I use the singularity abilities I'd much rather have a warp core installed in my rom ships lol.
Romulan singularity cores have a major drawback: they only provide the proper defense/firepower when they are fully charged.
Tyr shall give me strength! For the glory of Tempus! I am the hands of Shar! Flames of Kossuth, protect me! Oghma, grant me knowledge! Lolth commands, and I obey!
So my question is, is there a way to turn these command off? I ask this because, well, to put it bluntly, some of us are smart enough to know how to equip and fly our ships effectively. And if you know how to do that, you don't need these commands. They are just a slap in the face to those of us who know what we're doing. Just because a few clueless people posted some whine threads about how cruisers needed a buff does not mean we are all clueless. But then, unfortunately, compensating for people's stupidity seems to be the norm with most companies now
If there is no way to turn them off then you just made my cruisers useless to me, simply because I refuse to dumb myself down in order to use my ships. And it will be back to escorts for me.
Although I will say I am having a good laugh at all the people who are salivating over these commands like a tard over a shiny red ball.
I don't care what the header says, I am not now, nor have I ever been, nor will I ever be, an "ARC user".

Turning them off is not your issue, turning them on is. :P:D
They are 'off' by default and even when you have them on, they switch off when you change instance/map. In addition, you can switch them off yourself at any time if they're on.
Wait. Cruiser Commands...are a slap in the face? They just gave you buffs that make your already powerful cruiser even more powerful and it's a slap in the face?
LOL

That's quite possibly the funniest thing I've read in a while. Holy TRIBBLE.

Nice, interesting I have nothing downloading on my end when I log into the launcher, is it only server-side?
I guess STO's tooltips are so confusing even the Devs don't know what they're supposed to mean
May I direct your attention to the fact that Romulan Warbird Battle Cruisers are getting none of them?
duh they got sig cores
All Romulan ships have battlecloak instead. Klingons get neither battlecloak for their cruisers nor the full number of commands.
So? The dread gets 1 command and the KDF misses out on the least useful 1 BIG FREAKING DEAL!
Enjoy the extra time off .
I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

It's because Klingons got it right the first time and the other powers had to rush to catch up.
Now that they are caught up ... time to raise the bar again.
Bring on a NEW Klingon fleet!!!!!!
