Tutorials for Combat?

Hi all,

Reached level 5 with my Federation character and ground combat has basically been point and shoot to kill and space combat is fly in circles keeping my nose on the enemy ship to destroy it.

I have to assume things get a little more complex when I get to rank 40 and beyond. In-game resources are little help so far. They showed me something today, I think about setting power levels for different situations but it blinked by so fast I saw only the words offense and I think defensive and the tip box was gone. Can't bring it back up. There were 4 setting at the bottom left of my HUD to select. Can't figure out what each symbol means and haven't found a chart of in-game symbols yet.

Is there any website or You Tube videos that explain space and/or ground combat for this game and maybe even gearing for it?

    Hi, so in terms of the ships power levels (the "offence" and "defence" points you raised), there are pre-set indicators that rebalance your ship's power levels to: 1) Weapons (the far left option, which looks like a vertical beam); 2) Shields (a circle, which looks like your ship's shields in game); 3) Engines (which looks like a jet exhaust); and Balanced, which is the default and spreads power levels evenly between the subsystems.

    In general, the STO meta strongly favours high weapon power - you should select the weapon button. This is not the case if you are doing a specific science build, in which case Auxiliary power is optimal.

    The tutorials on this game are the worst I have ever seen.

    I recommend asking for help as much as possible and watching videos on YouTube

    Tutorials on PC seemed sufficient the last time I made a new character (AoY) and before.
    Maybe some pieces need more info, but the basics are there.
