Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, October 24th, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

    I find a mild irony in that the three ships represented are the Avenger (new), Ar'kif (new) and the Vor'Cha (lol)

    In my opinion the vor'cha is the best looking kdf ship in the game.

    No Commands for the Kar'fi ???...otherwise just max 3 Commands for KDF....
    Shame.....shameshameshame.

    Seems like the Klingons Spacefleet are the 100-Years-old-Lowtech-Junkyjard of the Galaxy, ...but its not the big Surprise for us again.

    they classified it as an escoet not a crusier so it woudnt get them at all

    Because the KDF don't have pure cruisers, they have battle cruisers.

    My KDF Klingon Eng flying a Vor'cha Retrofit and KDF Alien Tac with his Marauder Flight-Deck would like for me to pass along thanks for the rapid rollout of Cruiser Commands to ships beyond the Avenger Battlecruiser.

    Only aura the KDF ships are missing is the Threat Generation one. In exchange the battlecruisers get DHCs, cloaks, and enhanced turning, and still get the other three more-useful auras. There are things worth complaining over, but this isn't one of them.

    Very nice. Looks like my Fleet Assault Cruiser is going to be getting meaner. :cool:
    My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug. :D

    It's a Destroyer.
    No Commands for the Kar'fi ???...otherwise just max 3 Commands for KDF....

    Kar'fi is a carrier, not a Cruiser. And one of the best carriers in the game already, even moreso now that it's getting a Fleet version.

    Looks like fun, my Fleet Corsair will be harder to kill with the shield buff and my FACR will hit harder with even less power drain. And started working on my tacs Regent today because im bored with his fleet tactical escort before seeing the patch notes so will have even more firepower on that one as well without Marion.

    One thing I dont get is threat generation for flight deck cruisers. wouldnt swap Weapon System Efficiency with battle cruisers as they can use cannons and have far less problems with drain from weapons be better. It would be more balanced since a battle cruiser out DPS a flight deck even though the flight deck has pets and battle cruisers have more hull where they can make use of extra threat. Either way Shield Frequency Modulation is going to get heavy use on my Fleet Corsair.

    Thanks for bringing a huge update and BUFF to cruisers!


    Next please please buff science so they can do enough DPS to be usefull to the team when flying science ships. 6 weapon slots and whimpy damage from sci abilities and they seriously lag behind in the DPS race.

    Ah yes, the combined forces of all factions in battle against a new evul foe. I find it funny how Cryptic always talks of 'allied forces' when it comes to the players in the new season's content. When the heck did we ally? Seriously Cryptic, will we EVER see a conclusion to the so called 'war between the federation and the klingon empire'? Shouldn't you make a season first where the war gets called off and a new alliance installed? Somehow it seems we are now getting once again content way ahead of our actual ingame timeline, with a large chunk missing in between the old and the new stuff.

    Attract Fire and Weapon Systems Effiency for the Dreadnought i.e Galaxy-x. Thanks Cryptic but no thanks, 2 of the most undesired commands from the new cruiser commands for me, a ship that would seriously have benefitted more from the Turn rate and Shield frequency boost.

    Proven once again how much you guys hate the Galaxy line of starships. But its ok to use Galaxy's image to promote the game and to sell things. But not ok to give us a decent ship.

    a few examples.
    Galaxy Image is used on slides in the Omega rep system.
    Galaxy is the ship used on the forum pages
    Galaxy is used on the image to sell fleet ship modules

    However rumors are you're going to give us saucer separation for the Galaxy-x at some point, something most people nor want or asked for nor does the ship need.

    Second Wave. If you do it right and get S'taass to agree an aliance is made to defend the quadrant against the Borg, then the Jem Hadr come in and focus is shifted to them. If you didnt do it right and S'taass disagreed he would have after you save him because as an ambassador to the KDF he is bound by honor. But in the STO timeline that would be when an alliance is made ending the Fed/KDF war because there is no mention of the war after and the last thing is the KDF/fed fleets holding position awaiting an attack on or from the borg.

    This is further enforced during the mission Of Bajor from a Fed perspective when calming the arguments between Klingons and Bajorans. If you were still at war they wouldve killed you. As for the KDF inteligence gathering side mission if you are KDF... well thats expected that they would gather inteligence just incase the alliance doesnt last.

    I would say the season came and went but the war ended in a whimper rather than a bang, leaving KDF/fed border disputes for endgame but no actual war.

    Atleast to me thats where I see the end of the war and it does make and end of it in that perspective.

    Now the Iconians... That needs more! and to tie in what is done so far from all factions. Not just them manipulating the Tal Shiar but everything else in STO's story missions except maybe the Deferi/breen to present.

    "Weapon Systems Effiency", "most undesired"... Are you joking? Seriously? Do you even know what -25% weapon power drain will do for a Gal-X? Marion Francis Dulmer sells for 20+ million EC and he decreases drain as his buff for a whopping 8 seconds. -25% constant will make him nearly irrelevant. Use cannons and overcapped power and the power recovery time increase further helping cannons, each shot should have 125 weapon power behind it greatly increasing DPS rather than shot 1 at 125 and the last shot around 95.

    Also Gal-X is supposed to be a dreadnought, the tank for the feds that can give as much as it takes. It is supposed to be able to draw fire leaving the rest of the team free to kill the target. You should be using +th embassy consoles and have threat control specced. It gives a bonus to damage resistance ontop of getting the NPC's to attack you. +6 speced in skills and forget about extra threat generation from NPC's because they wont see you as more of a threat than that really it is all about the bonus damage resist. That bonus... all PvP extra resistance. Also threat generation.. "You must attack the target to generate the extra Threat.". Don't BFAW while doing SB24.

    NO Klingon-design ship receives Command - Attract Fire. :mad: Only TWO KDF ships (of Orion design) get it, neither of which has exceptionally high hull values (compared to some FED cruisers or other Klingon-design ships).

    What is the supposed niche for a Bortasqu' War Cruiser, Vo'Quv or Negh'Var in PvE endgame? Without Command - Attract Fire those heavy and slow ships with high hull values will never be able to take the role of a tank in end-game groups which want to optimize their setup (they produce less aggro AND would also get it reduced from any other cruiser having the command turned on).

    My suggestion:
    Replace Command - Weapon System Efficiency with Command - Attract Fire for the Bortasqu' War Cruiser, the (Fleet) Negh'Var and the (Fleet) Vo'Quv.

    i must say i dont like a lot of stuff thats going on but guys, really the most useless of all the commands is this aggro thing so i for one am happy that there is one less button to misclick on and be happy with the three nice ones for the kdf ships still there

    and WHY ON EARTH would you switch the weapon systems stuff for the attract fire stuff? you know there are always two sides to everything - the smart side and you know, the "other" side ;) that switch would definitly be not be on the smart side of things

    i must say i dont like a lot of stuff thats going on but guys, really the most useless of all the commands is this aggro thing so i for one am happy that there is one less button to misclick on and be happy with the three nice ones for the kdf ships still there
