I was just wondering, what are the best lock box ships out there to get on exchange for a prize between 50-80m EC?
I just can't make up my mind on what lock box ship to get and which one that would suit me the best? I like a ship that has a nice punch of firepower but at the same time can take quite some beating. I mainly play escorts but lately I've been playing the new Fed Battle cruiser Avenger A LOT, so something similar but better than that in firepower and tanking would be great. Oh and I'm a fed tactical officer if that matters.
So what do you think are the best lockbox ships so far and why?
And which lockbox ship would fit me best with a budget of 50-80m EC?

The only lockbox ships that are currently sub80m are the adapted destroyer (subject to change) and the elachi s'gloth. Neither ship amazes me. For your price range, you would be far better buying a lobistore ship. Recluse is fantastic especially with the elite pets spamming apb3. Other decent choices in that mix as well. For a quality lockbox ship I would recommend the Galor or the Temporal Science Ship, those would be double-triple your budget though.
In my personal opinion, the time ships are the best lockbox ships.
If you're looking for a battleship, probably the Galor although it's gonna be out of your budget a bit.

Galor, packed with Polaron weapons and topped off with the Jem'Hadar space set from the "2800" FE series would probably be something to look at, but to be honest, besides Mirror Universe ships, you're not going to find Lockbox ships for less than a hundred, hundred-twenty million EC or more.

I have to endorse the Galor also, fantastic ship, good bridge setup, shields and hull also great, comes with 4 Spiral Wave Disruptors which I love.
True its a lot more than your budget but atm theres very few ships from the boxes under 80mil.
The Galor is over a 100 million last time I checked
Galor hands down is best lock box ship. Perfect BOFF layout... mine its at just under 57K hull and 17k sheilds. Using fleet single cannons each one does 950dps, tac abilities activated 1950dps. Thing takes a beating and hardly ever to the shields even make it down.
Faster flight speed than my fleet tor'kaht (I know not lock box but using for comparison), 10 more inertia than the Torkaht (galor has 40), and same turn rate. Perfect ship.
I use to do 100K DPS, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Your Ramming Speed III deals 242658 (243540) Kinetic Damage (Critical) to you.
the tal shiar battleship makes a brilliant science vessel oddly enough, as you can stick a commander science on it, has a cloak and it has 4/4 weapon slots.
I have one, but I bought it from a website instead of spending 200 bucks on lock boxes just to get a 2% chance of getting one...

You might not want to go around admitting something like that in these particular forums.
I believe that kinda thing is very much frowned upon.

It's more than frowned upon, it's forbidden. And if someone from Cryptic see that, he will have a ban for it.
As for the best lockbox ships, I think they are the Jem'hadar attack ship (escort), the Galor (cruiser) and the Wells (sci, different name for KDF/Rom). The bugship/galor are extremely expensive however.
The "best" lock box ship usually depends on what ship type and BOFF layout you favor, along with how much you plan on spending on them long term. I favor escorts because their high DPS and superior mobility tends to get me 1st place in many competitive PVE maps.
Ships like the Mobius and the Elachi S'Golth can't reach their full potential until you outfit them with their matching lobi space gear.
The Mobius Destroyer is easily one of the best lock box / lobi ships to date. However, it does require the full Temporal Warfare set if you want to maximize its combat potential. The 2-set Chroniton Synchronicity stat is forgettable, but the 3-set Temporal Inversion is pretty darn close to an "I Win" button.
The Elachi S'Golth is the easiest to build up and outfit right now due to the ready availability of Elachi DHC's on Exchange, and you only need two of the three Elachi space set pieces to get the +7.6% disruptor damage and +15.2% shield systems bonus. Unfortunately each piece costs 200 lobi, but these are items that you can purchase later. If you do go this route, I suggest getting the Bioneural Infusion console first -- the +15.2 critical severity makes it a "must have" on my top universal consoles list.

I seek enlightenment on the repulsion of such websites. How do they work differently from selling the ship on the exchange? Why does it risk having the account banned?

Monbosh is very solid, and compared to a Galor has a fourth tac slot, better boff layout, can fit cannons and is ~50m cheaper. The pets from the console aren't too shabby either.
Well if you look at raw damage potential. Plasma energy can be boosted by Tac consoles, Embassy Consoles, Boffs, Particle Gen's
The Temporal destroyer. It has 4 Tac and 4 Sci consoles. So with 4 XII VR Tac consoles and 4 XII VR Embassy Particle Gen's with + %9 plasma damage each. And if you are a Romulan you can use 5 Boffs that boost plasma damage also. No ohter ship has the console layout that can have that much raw damage boost to a particular energy type.
I've only ever owned the Galor and Jem Hadar Escort; the latter of which I couldn't get on with at all. The Galor though, superb vessel.
I have since decided not to use 'out of faction' ships. Both the Galor and Jem Hadar Escort have been removed from my account, as has the Chel Grett. My only interest now is the Tal Shiar Adapted Cruiser, all depending on it's exchange sales. If it's around the 60/70mil mark I might wait for the next mass lock box drop event, price is bound to go down a bit then.

.
My main flies a Mobius as its primary ship and I only recommnd getting the console from the lobi set, the torp and DBB are garbage, the set bonuses are useless (chroniton bonus damage) or borderline useless (5 min CD on the 3 piece power, NOT WORTH IT in a practical sense outside some PvP matches where folks stack it).

There are no boffs that while in space, give a damage bonus to a specific energy type at all.
The Mobius without the full temporial set is awesome. As I posted above 4 SCI consoles and 4 Tac consoles. Think about it? what other ship has that? and can load cannons? With Romulan Plasma weps with thier Disruptor Proc or Advanced Fleet Plasma Weps and 6 to 9skill points in Particle Gen and 4 Particle Gen consoles your DOT is going to be insane plus %36 damage boost from XII Embassy consoles on top of the boost from 4 Tac consoles. If your a Romulan forget it you can add even more Plasma damage boost with thier Boffs that boost plasma damage as well. The only other energy type that can be boosted beyond what can be gained from Tac consoles is Polaron. It can be boosted I think %13 from the XII Jem'Haddar space set. The Destroyers Console layout gives it an advantage over every other ship when is comes to damage output. Granted it's only plasma but hey it's making a comeback.

rom boffs dont boost plasma damage in space. rom boffs will boost critd/h only if they have sro.
