On topic though. I don't think it's going to be the earth shattering death to PvP drama people go on about. Sure it's blatant powercreep and won't be too balanced but considering the number of doffs we have and will have, getting an extra slot isn't a bad thing. Besides the world will keep turning, people will keep playing, some will adapt, some will leave, such is the life of all mmo's.
That is my biggest issue with Cryptic the Creep mad Developers.
People leave natural like... they need to be replaced. If you love PvP you want them to replace some of them with new PvP blood.
Imagine if you will you have never ever played this game before... and you come in after season 8.... or worse 9 or 10.
If you haven't played 4 years after the launch your not likely a massive Trek fan. So as a video game fan only would you put in 6 months of grinding and begging new friends... to be able to PvP ? Lets face it a new player with fresh gear no fleet gear no rep and now to boot only 5 doffs (likely most of which will be blue at best... no 10mil ec+ purples that's for sure) there going to get slaughtered even harder then they do now. It should be enough that we have 4 years of experience on them. I don't want to have to be PvPing with greens on just so I don't feel like a d bag.

Guess the only thing you can do is take it easy on people you think are new and try to make it fun for them. Then try and suck them into TD and OPvP for learning and to help them not meet a 4 yr vet d*** who just finds it fun to slaughter pugs and laugh at them in Zone. Afterall you all get tarnished with the same brush however unfairly that is.
Also season 8 will have fleet Tac consoles. There is already screenshots of them on another thread. They will be generic consoles, one for beam one for Cannon one for Torp. They will have a little less base damage than energy specific consoles but an XII Ultra rare console is %25 base damage bonus vs the current %30 but with an %8 CRTH or CRTD bonus. So you wil have a little less base damage but your Crits chance and damage will be insane. Virus already ran the numbers and it looks like if your not going to be flying a rainbow build your going to be laughed at.
I'm just wondering if the %8 boost is stackable. So if you have all the Rep done and all the other Crit boosting consoles and a Romulan bridge crew and say 5 of these consoles are you going to get an nearly %50 CRTH/CRTD boost?
Yes PvP is dead in that case.... So for a new player coming in not only do they have to grind months of personal rep.
They also now have to kiss the backside of some preexisting players to gain access to a fleet.

i have been thinking this since rep system started. it only gets worse with every update\season.
any new player interested in pvp will have to grind for months just to be competitive, and i'm sure that will drive people from it, not to it
all the grinding is driving me away. just when i get my mains 'up to par', something new comes out and it's back to the grind. for me it's not so bad, as i have done all the other stuff. it's new blood i worry for.

What's a Marion? And a Kel'eel? What are RSP and DEM3?
Marion is a system engineer doff that causes directed energy modulation(a per hit engineering skill that adds a bit of extra damage) to provide 10 secs of super energy drain resistance thus allowing you to fire your energy weapons without much if any drain
Keel'el is a warp core doff that removes all debuffs for a few seconds on activation of emergency power to whatever.
Rsp is reverse shield polarity. 10 seconds of turning all energy damage into shield
Hey, this could make my Galaxy an even better tank. Not only will I have the ability to reuse epts3 every 30 sec, I can use eng and sci team ever 15 sec, AND increase the effectiveness of my hazard emitters. Seeing as I just got away from using aux2batt, I wonder what this will do for my sovereign and odyssey.
