    wha???

Did you use it against another player with insulators, or against mobs? I'm not gold, so I don't have access to tribble to test it myself.

There was this back on 9/9...
    All fixed.

Tyken's Rift III is now pretty devastating when properly skilled and Aux'd up. Possibly too much so, but since it requires a fairly substantial investment to power it up so high... I left it where it is, for now.

Testing feedback will be most appreciated, when this change lands on Tribble. Please keep an eye out for the patch notes.

...some folks asked for clarification for the term "devastating" but none was given. That was the last dev reply in the thread.

I had about 104 or so Insulators.. Originally more then enough to resist the drain vs Tyken's 3.. OR currently how it is on Live...Flow capacitors I have 208 on the ship I was testing with.

On tribble how ever.. Yeah no.. definitely don't want to be in a Tyken's 3.. Tyken's 2 was also pretty good in the drain department.

What ever it stays for the drain, it'll drain about that much per tick..and each tick happens about twice per second ish..

Add in a Tyken's aftershock doff and yeah...

I was testing with a player after seeing Borg Probe and Sphere shields just drop in a Tyken's 3 in seconds. And knowing they ahve no resists... heh

Tykens could suck 100 power out of every system and still blow. The fact that it is 100% countered by hazards makes the amount of drain it is doing completely not the point.

I guess you can try to time someones hazards and hit them with a tykens... but any premade will just toss a spare hazards there way.

Cute that they have fixed the aux power ratio thing... still as long as its countered by hazards... its still junk.

For some reason, even though it would only be TR2 and not TR3 - that still left me picturing 5x Sci Fleet Corsairs.

Fleet Corsair w/ Nausicaan Sci Captain

Traits - Pirate*, Conservation of Energy, Photonic Capacitor, Inspirational Leader, Wing Commander, Accurate, Astrophysicist, Elusive, Techie

    Reputation
New Rom - Precision, Emergency Secondary Shielding, Quantum Singularity Manipulation
Nukara - Fortified Hull, Auxiliary Power Configuration - Offense, Refracting Tetryon Cascade
Omega - Omega Weapon Training, Superior Shield Repair

    TT1, CSV1
    EPtS1, RSP1, EWP1, AtS3
    EPtS1

    ST1, HE2, TR2
    PH1, ES1

    (5x Nausicaans (Pirate*))

    DOFFs - MAS(EWP), GSO(TR), WCE(Cleanse), FDO(Escort), FDO(Recharge)

Deflector - Elite Fleet Fermion Mk XII [Flow][Ins][ENG][SciCdr]
    Engine - KHG Mk XII
Shields - Elite Fleet Resilient Mk XII [Cap]x2[ResA/B][Adapt]
Core - Elite Fleet Reinforced Mk XII [SEP][W->S][SCap][AMP][SST]

    Weapons
Fore - 4x Phased Polaron Turrets Mk XII [Acc]x2
Aft - 4x Phased Polaron Turrets Mk XII [Acc]x2

    Consoles
    Tac - Leech, Aceton Assimilator
    Eng - 2x E-Neut Mk XII [+HullRep], Rule 62, Barrier Field
Sci - 2x Rom Flow Caps Mk XII [-Th][HuH], 2x Rom Flow Caps Mk XII [-Th][ShH]

Devices - RMC, SFM, Aux Batt, Eng Batt

    Hangar - Elite Orion Interceptors

Other - Nimbus Pirate Distress Call, Holo Emitter - Adult Gekli

*Cryptic's mentioned fixing the Captain Pirate trait - would need to fix the BOFF one as well.

Should have 262.9 Flow Caps. 292.9 with an Inspirational Leader proc. 362.9 with Quantum Singularity Manipulation. 392.9 with both Inspirational Leader and Quantum Singularity Manipulation.

Folks won't complain about dying in 5s...but I think they'll complain.

Also curious what Geko meant by the buffs to the Cruisers/Flight-Deck Cruisers (as well as Sci)...
Hazards will cure just about everything...

Heh, hence the 5x Sci. ;)

Do have to wonder about that "free" Carrier...and...what other Voth ships are going to be coming for players with S8.

I don't know.. but I wonder if you can change the lyrics of the song sung at the end of this ahead of time for Season 8:

I'm surprised since at 100 power insulators the drain should not be too severe unless they buffed it really nicely or they don't protect as well as with other power drains. By the way thanks for posting this, the reports on the GW and Tyken's from Tribble have been few.

No problem. I also made a thread in the Tribble area also for it..

And I suspect it might actually not be getting resisted or something because that Drain was intense.

IF and it's a big if, the power insulator effect works like with the polaron proc, the drain should only be about 45% of the shown drain. I won't be able to do more power insulator tests until mid October so until then I can only go by the one thing I've tested thoroughly.

Also remember, the drain is like plasmonic leech, but without the 8 times cap.

Well, there are moments like this...

    [Zone] noname@shame: lmfao
[Zone] noname@shame: Is any of this actually supposed to hurt me??
    [System] [LegacyFloaterMsg] Decrypt Borg Transmissions!
[Zone] noname@shame: Damn you to hell, warp out.

Ship Killer - Starfleet: Defeat Starfleet Ships +1

Yep, right after he asked that...he got caught in a collection of presents...at the Ker'rat reset...and died.

Willard doesn't kill anybody (c'mon, you saw the build - he's a support Sci)...

edit: You know, I was thinking about it - and - I couldn't even begin to count how many times I've apologized in Ker'rat because I ended up picking a soft target for testing/timing things - most folks know that my stuff's just going to bounce harmlessly off of them. This though, lol - yeah, it made me chuckle. Saw the time left - saw where he was heading - knew it was going to happen...

Seriously, Tyler Durden has reignited my love for the game.

I mean in a general level. I'm having more fun playing with people than I have had in a long time. Before I only liked playing with my buddies.

Tyler Durden, depending on who is running matches, some times hosts the matches on a TS Server. Minimax usually does this.

Minimax also uses it as a way to track via Hilbert and Hilbert also made a thing that is used to sort people.

Last night the matches with my Romulan Sci Was fun..

The matches with my Romulan Tac, romulan Engi, and Teapower... not so much.

Now THAT is good PvP right there.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Building an up to date pvp family of toons is my greatest plight too. It sucks but I don't want the game to get any simpler.

Maybe season 8 will ease the pain of grinding tons of characters.

The last thing I saw/heard, not necessarily the last thing said/written, was that the new Rep was basically going to be a daily...but when folks can basically do a Tau Dewa, ISE, CCE as a daily as is...I'm not sure what a difference it's going to make....meh. :(

But yeah, I basically went from no way on 9 toons to no way on 3 toons to wondering if I can keep the 1 toon going...bah.

We are the grind, resistance is futile.

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

One Thing I will admit I have started to do, is if I run into a match that is a complete pug stomp.. instead of going
    GG = Good Game

    I'll use..

    GPS = Good Pug Stomp

I figure why use GG if it was just a pug stomp?

I used to say, "Good luck, all..." at the end of a match - avoiding the whole mess that involves GG. After seeing Bran slap people upside the head with a reply and always ending it with Cheers, I've gone with just saying, "Cheers." at the end of a match.

I mean, have you seen some of Bran's posts? They're a trip. Good news, bad news, modslap backhand...it's always Cheers. ;)
