They've got the mechanic for the Singularity Cores...if you're at 5 pips, you're sporting -400 Stealth...but that's the only thing I'm aware of in the game that reduces Stealth like that.

There are ways around that. ;)

I use a torp boat so I find TS good. When I change my build I may say no good. But for now TS is good.

Typical. A mechanic is found against your setups and you Q.Q. about it.

I'm in a Scimitar. Feel free to bring your torp spreads.

Unlike some parties, I haven't started any massive QQ threads on a mechanic I was unable to deal with.

I haven't called anyone an exploiter, or called any mechanic exploiting, on either of these issues.

Where are the calls for adapting now?

As I stated earlier, feel free to peruse the forums and find where I've posted any particular thing was an exploit.

What calls for adapting? I didn't start this thread.

I'm responding to the issue that Torp Spread's auto hit should be brought in line with other normal mechanics, since it seems that's the road we might be taking soon - outlier mechanics brought in line.

None of these builds would have happened if you guys didn't milk your lame vape premades to the maximum.

Sorry if you dislike the decloak alpha mechanic. It is what it is and not even the new BO changes will remove it from the game.

The decloak vape builds came about as one part efficiency and one part necessity, playing a visible escort at this point in the game means you get to have most of your APAs nuked off, be constantly controlled with viral, etc.

Since it's missed your attention, if Hawk goes through and this BO change is part of a larger re-balancing to bring extremes more towards the center of play - I'm all for it, I've said this repeatedly now in multiple threads.

If it's just caving in to tears while not addressing any other broken mechanics over the long term - then it doesn't make sense and isn't really part of a positive process going forward.

I hope that means its possible to add the penalty to consoles and boff abilities then. It makes no sense for a ship to be able to remain cloaked while emitting a tachyon field since tachyon particles in this game disrupt cloak and the ship emitting the field is at the center of it.

I'm fine with that, just give me better passive detection of Roms, and remove the Rom god stealth from boffs.

Without a proper spec, EPTA, sensor scan, you aren't seeing most Roms until it is too late.

I agree even though I also play a T'varo sometimes.

Better passive stealth detection might actually give the targets a chance to see these stealth snoopers sometimes too.

I have been experimenting with a decloak focus Warbird, using T'Varo, Dhelan and Scimitar. It proves to quite potent in decloaking even the Scimitar. Several HOBO in Kerrat were promptly revealed and killed. They were all quite surprised that I could see them. I told them to thank the OP for tipping off every Fed on how to build such mechanism.

Still, such build only makes sense in Kerrat but not so much for Arena or C&H. The ship which spec into such role will also sacrifice survivability and after much testing, I am not sure if this is worth the trouble or not - leaning towards the not worth it camp.

While the T'Varo can activate TDF under cloak, I find that the most useful use of the super decloak combo is when your target engages battlecloak, then you promptly decloak it. You will have a few seconds where the target thinks it's safely under cloak but actually shieldless. The T'Varo simply allows you to activate the decloak combo blindly under cloak, which sounds nice in theory but in practice, this is not very useful.

It works fine in Arena, but it has a significant opportunity cost compared to just slotting boffs.

I have used several alternate configurations for a while now just in case.

    And like I said earlier.

Fix the stupid stealth stacking, and it will weaken both vape builds and detector builds. Especially if the non-cloakers are heavily employing anti-cloak, and detection in their setups.

Making the detection builds **** without fixing the boffs, would be the most moronic thing Cryptic has ever done.

The detection builds without cloak are questionable as well. It's not hard to let a teammate know to stay out of range while the SS wears out.

In fact, that's what the vapers do now, stay 15-20km out of range, until ready.

Perhaps you need a vaper yourself Snog.

Because they're much less dangerous when they have their shields up, have the additional +10% damage from the Rombush, and know they're going to have to fight until they can cloak again...

...vs. just popping them while they've got no shields, are thinking about how to approach their target, etc, etc, etc.

Well, if that's what you find most useful...

Wait wait. Is this new? Are decloaking vape builds kewl now? Make me one!

And snoopers can see a high aux full stealthed specced ship from 19k! Not too shabby! And the really great thing about the spread builds isn't that they bypass ACC/DEF. It is that they get a HUGE BOOST from it.

Anyhoo's this is seriously old news I'm sorta surprised this thread went so long.

Cheers!! Happy vaping and being vaped!!:)

I hope you guys noticed the tribble build notes. They are nerfing subterfuge so the boffs do not stack (only the highest one will count)

Can we survive until S8 though?

And it's not really a nerf...since it was fixed back in March and broken some time after LoR.

    I just thought about this:

Some of the more unique torpedoes, without any innate kinetic resist on shields could have some better purposes:

Wide-Angle Quantum: Would be a great cruiser weapon, more than it is already. Sure it's a tad weaker than most normal torps, but speccing into kinetic damage will make it pretty respectable. Even a non-cruiser ship, like a sci-vessel would get some good use out of it.

Ferengi Missile Launcher/Omega torp: These would both become great pressure weapons. Not using them at the same time of course, but even just one at a time would be potent. The Ferengi Missiles are launched very quickly and fly pretty fast as well, plus a really short CD means you are gonna be putting out a lot of em. The Omega torp, even if it's ammo mechanic was working still is 5 torpedoes at the start of a fight launched pretty quickly if you keep someone in your arc, along with the plasma burns which can be nice.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
