Dunno what all that means, but I cent get into the game. (Launcher takes an hour to get to engage, when I get in I get Account server connection could not be started or get to character selection with names of characters but no pictures. Once I was able to load a toon, but they were totally lagged out (couldnt play at all)
EDIT - btw the forums are crazy laggy too, it took 10 mins to post that reply. My internet connection elsewhere is fine (30MBps no lag whatsoever on other games, website US and Eurpoe based).
Uk based and yet again the weekend lag fest has began.Slow to load, slow to log in,slow to get any alts loaded.
Once in the game you cant do anything,it seems even worse now they have the CC Event on,I gave up last night, seems like I may have to give up and wait till Monday to try again...
Everything was working perfectly well on Thursday after the patch and all day yesterday, then today after a 20MB launcher update I start getting disconnects and repeated server not responding.
That's the only thing to change on my end. This isn't the only online game I play either and I'm getting great stable connections to the others.
Thoughts, suggestions, wild conjecture anyone?
Star Trek Offline is currently online. We apologise for the convenience and are working to remedy the situation.
From diagnostic postings made today, it looks like both the above.net and tinet.net Trans-Atlantic cable links are suffering the severe packet drop caused by network congestion, so that explains why so many European players are having connection issues.
As to its cause, it could be simply excessive traffic (too many Europeans trying to watch Neflix), hardware issues, etc, but this is something that is clearly outside of Cryptic/PWE control... I'm having no issues with STO this morning from the Silicon Valley, so the issues appears to be Internet route related...
It would be interesting if you did a 'Trace Route' to other MMRPG that don't have this issue, and see if they avoid going through the above.net or tinet.net Trans-Atlantic link...

This is a STO issue, as only STO is affected.
