Please try restarting your machine and/or router. If that doesn't work, try manually downloading the most up-to-date launcher here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=505501

    Cheers,

I guess out of the millions of players we are the only two affected as I havent seen any other posts about this, which probably means we are SOL

Well if Neverwinter finishes in another hour or two at the speed its going, maybe I will just go there because STO is obviously broken.

Heres hoping by now you managed to get in, I just did a reboot of the PC which is the first thing they say to try and STO opened like a charm, we'll see what tomorrow brings but henceforth update days will now fill me with dread.

Yeah still screwed for me atm. A day and a bit now.

It's ironic, this happened the last time I got back into STO after a break. I get back into the game, start reading up again, re-familiarizing myself with everything, start getting right back into it, get the enthusiasm, then ... poof! It's gone!

And in addition to that, I get kicked out when I switch maps randomly...

LOL, it would make me laugh if it didn't already make me cry.

I went through the palaver of copying my STO folder to my laptop, going to an internet cafe with a good connection, updating the game, bringing it back home, copying the folder back over.

The launcher comes up now, but gets stuck on "version xxxx 23 .."

Yet I can still launch TSW or GW2 just fine on the same connection (in fact, just updated GW2 this morning).

    *bangs head against desk*

Aaaaaand, as mysteriously as it stopped working, it's now working fine again. I did try Hotspot Shield, which may have done the trick, though I'm not sure (it might be that my mobile broadband provider was blocking some particular route, but with HS the message got through somehow? But I was trying so many things like all the Options things, I was in a kind of a trance, so I'm not really sure what got it working again).

Anyway, back in the game, and a happy bunny again! :)

Yes Hotspot Shield probably fixed it, I haven't been able to logon without in over a year now. After an update last may or June I logged in and started having server issues then it got to the point where the launcher didn't even come up. I tried HS and the launcher popped right up and been fine since as long as I use HS. It would be nice to just log in normally again but they fouled something up and I wasn't alone. Guess it wasn't a priority as more and more people came down with it.
