Maybe people just aren't lured into continious grinds anymore and are somewhere else, doing things they think is fun, or at least rewards something they can use outside of the summer event?

I'm not exactly sure what makes this a "troll" thread, but I think that by raising a common concern about the state of the game, perhaps those of us with a lot of investment in the success of STO can bind together -- mind meld, if you will -- and brainstorm some helpful, constructive, feedback for the Devs.
Do we need to look past Iconian's last post to realize that something is very wrong with the player-end of the game?
Am I the only one worried? Is anyone there? Does anyone care?
Perhaps the lack of many people posting that they care isn't due to them not caring but because they're gone, leaving us in a barren wasteland of crushed dreams and forgotten promise.

To contribute: I hadn't thought of the possibility, Aleth, that the lack of responses in this thread might not be from lack of interest, but lack of PEOPLE. I read somewhere that roughly 10% of the player population reads the forums, and 1% actually posts regularly/semi-regularly. If this is true, then we can use that 1% as a kind of canary in the mine shaft, if you will.
If the 1% is no longer engaged with the game via forums, we might me able to make the guess that they are no longer playing the game regularly as well. This could be the proof we need to confirm the rapid depopulation of STO.
BTW, logged on Risa around 2 am last night and only saw about 28 populated instances. This is very unsettling.

and it's half though a major grind event... alot of people have gotten their ship and don't care about the rest. or bored of the grind on risa and are going back to there old one. got my first risa ship and was playing with making it a tropboat last night, got goldspammers... which hadn't happened before. and that is a good sign because they think they can/are make money.
p.s. yes I reported them like a good boy.

Goldspammers might be considered a good sign. They're not going to go to MMO's which are their way out, are they? Can't speak for others but I average one to three contacts per month. Of course they immediately get reported and placed on Ignore. But still, would they be bothering if the game was nearly done or they did not perceive a viable market was available to them?

If we are going to use Gold Spammers as a benchmark of good times, then I can personally say that we are in a "golden age". I reported 4 gold spammers myself last night for posting their filter avoiding ads in zone.

I have noticed less people are on, familiar names at least, but what is the doom about? Why are people leaving? Is this just another strange joke trend or something, like those bacon dweebs?
