After taking a good look at the bridge officer / console layout on the escort, I'm certainly not planning to swap it for my bug ship anytime soon; the ability to fit at least two RCS consoles and an armour module is something that I consider essential for an escort if you're to maintain a decent turn rate. When I first saw the dual universal slots, I thought about an Aux2Batt build, but that wouldn't make effective use of that ensign engineering slot...

how is that even possible? its with out a doubt the best tac cruiser in the game by far. its like the galor, only it can use DHCs, and has 4 tac consoles. its second only to the scimitar as far as cruiser like things go.
they really are of their rocker with that escort. that ship will have incredible spike soak and regeneration, and if you got that nothing short of a nuk is any real threat to something with a 16 turn rate and access to APO. hull durability of the tvaro will be plenty. additional shield hitpoints have always been way more valuable for the amount of hull they tend to exchange for it. no escort should have greater then a 1.0 shield mod.
And I have to say... Playing Star Trek Online is getting more and more un-Star Trek-like with each addition.
I enjoy this Space-themed MMO we're playing, but could you please add some more Star Trek?
Thanks.
THIS. So much this. I admit, I fly the Chel Grett on 6 toons for 2 reasons. First it was free and second it is so versatile for my style of play (2 engs, 3 tacs and a sci). Release a K'Vort for the KDF with the Chel Grett's stats and I'm all over it.
Perhaps, the next lockbox could have some faction specific ships? Mirror Oddysey and Mirror Bortas, with Mirror Galaxy and Mirror K'Vort (assuming we get a K'Vort before the next lockbox). Just stick with versions of the Anniversary Flagships and I would think everyone would be reasonably happy.
PS. I didn't forget the Romulans, just couldn't think of Mirror ships for them that didn't include a basic Scimitar being needed first.

It's not a typo. Notice the hull, though. And then again notice the 4 sci console slots. This ship's all about shields.
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=
And then you give us:
The Elachi Lock Box will have a chance of containing a Weapon Pack that will reward players with these new variations on Disruptor energy weapons. All of these weapons have a chance, with every shot, to completely bypass the enemy?s shields and a portion of their damage resistance.
Wait, so this Escort has the shields of a Sci ship with the firepower of an Escort? With special pets to pump out Sci debuffs? That's totally balanced compared to, say, a standard Patrol Escort. Totally.
how is that even possible? its with out a doubt the best tac cruiser in the game by far.
Ditto. The Monbosh is a monster of a cruiser. 1.2 shield mod, set one universal to eng the other to sci, you get a ship with the firepower of the Fleet Excelsior or the Galor, 3 sci slots letting you load TSS/HE/PH altogether, 6 eng abilities (so you can go nuts with A2B or Damage Control doffs), plus the weapons and maneuverability of a Fleet Tor'kaht, plus shields heading in the direction of a science ship, plus the pets. As a cruiser driver I look at this ship, looking for That One Thing that any ship lacks to give it weaknesses and personality, and I don't see it. No ship should ever be perfect (it makes things dull), but the Monbosh is really leaning towards Too Good.
Really is getting to the point they need to buff fed cruisers in some fashion.
KDF battlecruisers have good turnrate, can equip dual heavy cannons AND cloak.
Romulan battlecruisers can equip dual heavy cannons, have slightly higher hull than KDF battlecruisers and can battlecloak.
Fed cruisers meanwhile only have a slightly higher hull than KDF battlecruisers (and I believe the Negh'var has the same hull as the fed equivalent). That's it. The fed cruiser niche is that they're the worst of the three factions.
The Elachi battleship makes a joke of the Fed flagship Odyssey, beating it's shield modifer while at the same time being a much better DPSer.
Put me in the camp that doesn't see much issue with either of this ships.
Neither of them are going to get me out of my Warbirds.
If I still cared about my Fed, that Escort wouldn't get me out of my JHAS or JHHEC either.
The Battleship is actually more interesting, the stats/layout are like the love-child of a Fleet Vorcha & a Galor.
This is coming from a PvPer.
i mostly agree, but i think the escort has interesting potential. a build that has a LTC and LT sci could be interesting, could be some kind of heal boat that every 30 seconds can fully alpha strike someone. not really a solo death dealer, but a team ship.
the cruiser is extreamly interesting. ive been waiting and waiting for a battle cruiser with the excelcior or regent station setup for quite a wile, this things a beast and turns awesome, your typical galor layout is always great too.

surprisingly enough, ive been able to make fed beam boats work better then they should lattely. AtB builds with DEM, APB and FAW are very brutal at the moment. but only if you have less then 2 players in fireing range. FAW spreads the damage to thin. but otherwise, the raw dps is something no ship can be around for very long.
Hmm I could be wrong but I seem to recall all that gas floating around the Elachi bridge as being poisonous to non Elachi.:P Oh well breathing is for the weak who needs air anyways!:P
Can we have some air purifiers installed all around the bridge ... mobile units will be fine.
Now then ... What are some foggy locations to use and inspiration for names????
Regarding the shields ... I guess the temporal destroyer no longer has the cool shields when compared to this one.
The mirror Luna has the perfect boff setup for my sci but il never use it over the fleet versions superior stats. Something needs to be done to make them fleet grade ships, I wouldn't mind if the drop was scarcer or we had to buy another fleet ship once we got the mirror version.
On a a similar note, more ships need mirror variants.
While the Monbosh may not look interesting for many, it's quite probably the best cruiser you could imagine (better shields and boffs than Fleet Vor'cha). The thing is I can't imagine what could be 'tweaked' on it without making it under par. So I guess it's fine for a Lockbox/Lobi type vessel.
The S'golth however seems better than the Time Destroyers to me (that are already Lockbox/Lobi level). It has a potentially similar Boff layout, lower hull but much better shields with comparable manoeuvrability and same console slots. I think the shield mod should go down. Probably to 1.2. Then it's an alternative to the Temporal Destroyers.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Or raise the shield mod of the temporal destroyer slightly ... or meet in the middle.

I was under the impression that the Temp destroyers were very capable ships. Therefore I find it better to nerf the thing that outdoes them (S'golth escort in this case) than giving them a shield buff.
Not that I have high hopes, though.

The game has to get tougher and expand and in the future this might be a baseline/ok ship, compared to what comes only Cryptic knows.
The important part is to notice what they did right by this lockbox (other than it being a lockbox)
With the escort in particular:
-Great bridge officer layout
-Great art work for ships, bridge, and weapon effects (for cannons) maybe beams in future releases.
-A universal console faction-less so no one gets their consoles stolen
Not a fan of the battleship, it needs a hanger, but the escort is a boon for KDF players who are in desperate need of ships in general.
Everyone wants to see a carrier as well and perhaps this is your chance to look into it.
Above all else this is a good sign because many of these suggestions have been made by the player base and they listened which is an excellent sign as they need to do more of that.

^^This. I was all set to switch my ENG to a Fleet Assault this Saturday when my fleet finishes its T5 shipyard, but the Monbosh looks like it might be even better. Of course, I am not sure if I can get over the design. A vertical profile? Ugh, no thanks. It looks like a squatting frog trying to give someone a hug while moonwalking.
The escort on the other hand looks like a serrated knife ready to cut through your ship, sleek, deadly, and glowy. The potential layouts have me curious enough to start using my tac characters a little more, they have always been traditional DSP first monsters.
I was really going to skip this lockbox all together, but these ships intrigue me.
Now I will have to buy a Fleet LRSVR, Fleet Assault Cruiser, S'golth Escort and maybe Monbosh all in the same week. Better start buying and selling keys right now.
I 100% love this lockbox and the ships that come in it. I will be buying keys all day long until I win the ship, and then more keys until I have enough LOBI for the lobi store ship and gear.
Thank you PWE for this wonderful lockbox.
If your company want to make some $$, keep the ship stats as they are. The escorts 1.3 shield mod is wonderful, considering its hull is very low.
