The STO launcher won't show! (resolved using red text at top of forum)

Again, dear 'devs', please, 'enlighten' us, the mere and mortal players, with regards to the *why* your STO launcher won't show in a normal fashion on our desktops, from time to time. 
I mean, why do they remain in their 'trays' for, indefinite periods of time, without you, the Player (with a capital "P"!), to have the possibility of actually logging yourself into the game!... It's absurd!...
