Crash to Desktop (7/18/13) **Fixed with emergency patch 7/19**

Alright, who went and broke the game again? I'm in the tailor, changing my bridge officer outfits and have crashed 3 times in the past 30 minutes. This didn't happen at all before the patch this morning. I've verified all files twice now. So who broke what?

    Started getting some of these since the latest new patch went tot he live servers.

    This happens right as the game tries to start that Horagahn hunt in Risa.

    Now the reason I am making this post isn't just about that crashes....but about the pop up box I get after the client crashes.

    The box pops up and has a place to fill in what I was doing.....I try to type something and box closes after a few seconds.

    Anywise not sure what is causing this crash...though its something with the latest patch.

    I noticed other players also experiencing this issue....along with crashes to other locations like New Romulus.

    Anywise it looks like this issue is getting more prolific and that means the game client is becoming more and more unstable.

    Power without Perception is Spiritually useless and therefore of no true value.

    I'm in the same boat here buddy. Put 138 hours into the game the last 2 weeks according to steam. Played no problem. After patch today...........constant crashing every 10-20 minutes or so.

    I've crashed twice now since the patch this afternoon. One of my fleetmate's has also crashed twice and someone I was doing a mission on Defera with also crashed.

    The patch has obviously caused some instability somewhere, hopefully we don't have to wait too long for this to be fixed.
    Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
    True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!

    ST:O has crashed twice since the patch today. Once was during Mine Trap and once after Starbase 24. The dialog comes up, asking for information, then disappears. The second time I verified the files and just now have started the game again.

    I suspect there will be an emergency maintenance very, very soon.

    i have the same issue since last patch crash every 15 20 mins even the cryptic error reporter just closes after a few seconds of requesting error at the bottom middle turning to unknown then closing have also verified all files nothing seems wrong was working fine yesterday and has been since lor but todays patch seems to be causing crashes for me a few others have had the same issue i talked to in chat and also just started today for them

    update for my locations once on risa at exchange claiming rewards for duty officer assignments, second above risa continuing to claim rewards after first crash and verified files possibly risa so went into orbit, third time on different character ds9 strangely just as duty officer assignment completed but crashed just as it did, fourth time also just as two duty officer assignments completed and on ds9 was able to collect rewards and have not crashed since have also did colony invasion and few other things since much more resource heavy combat effects so on so my guess is something to do with duty officer completion notifications.

    unable to post crash number since it crashed as well shortly after popping up next duty officer assignment completes in 2 hours 50 mins once it does will update as to if i crashed or not upon its completion and will update if i crash in between with locations.

    update no crash after last duty officer assignments completed and no crash since at all before

    i have this issue and it might be my imagination but every time i relog i have sold an item on exchange lol =p

    Thank you for the reports, and I'm sorry to hear this is happening to you. We are investigating the crash reports as they come in. Please continue to post here if you encounter a crash, and include the location where you crashed and your crash report # if you can.

    I'd love to be able to submit a crash report for when my game randomly crashes 10-20 minutes into my play session, but sadly the crash reporter also crashes about 2 seconds after it appears.

    Crashes from the start of the summer event until the last patch - 0

    Crashes since the last patch - 2 (so far) in the space of an hour (plus the time it's taken to do two file verifications)

    Both times I was on Risa doing nothing but standing around chatting then bam! Instant desktop, then crash reporter pops up and trolls me for two seconds before disappearing. Before I even had a chance to move my mouse to the text box in order to type anything, it's gone.

    Just an update as to what I was doing in game at the time. My first crash was just me and a friend chatting in sector space next to P'jem. Second was when i was in Earth space dock tailor making a costume. Third was just standing next to my friend at the tailor.........again just chatting.

    All three times the crash report closed before i could do anything with it. I should also note that when my friend and I play, we use Skype and never touch the text chat unless spoken to or using an emote.

    crashed twice since i last posted . i was just in ds9 at bank area doing nothing lol
    at first i thought it might be related to ARC client but switching to steam launch has not helped
    the report client is trying to make a tag id but fails and says unknown and closes

    Just had a crash, first one of the day. Was in Ker'rat flying around cloaked in my Scimitar when it happened.

    Twice in 45 mins for me; way, way above my average experienced fault rate, be it game or ISP caused. Both were 'hard' crashes that took down the app instantly with no warning (eg no prior evidence of lag, freeze, audio sync issue or temporary server disconnect warnings) and killed the bug report dialog window within a couple of seconds too.

    Both occasions happened whilst on ESD; when the character was doing nothing - literally standing around - as I was waiting for a doff mission and a tribble cooldown to complete (neither had reached finishing stage at the time of crash). Full PC restart was made after the initial/first crash just incase there was any garbage left in memory.

    Specs: Windows Vista 32; 6 GB RAM; ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro

    Ok, checked it in the fleet, there are few other who had crashes after this patch, all on different places, one was at tailor, other was at Nukara.
    To me it crashed once, when I was getting all Hard missions on Defera, right after I spoke with Kramek (City mission giver).
    EDIT:
    And report window that comes after crash was there for about second then it crashed too.

    Happens to me on Risa too.
    Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

    2 random crashes yesterday. one today, 2 random DCs. WTF is going on?
    Perfectly stable before, so why TRIBBLE it up. Trying to sort dil out and it DCs, or Im in a PvP and it DCs, or Im just noobin about on risa and it DCs.

    Crashed again on Risa, chatting to fleet. The Bug report program crashed too. :confused:
    Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

    Yup, here too, already the 5th one today as far as i cared to count :D .

    1st i was afk'ing near Carraya
    2nd one i was brb'ing after an ISE near carraya again (clicking on chat screen)
    3rd was on risa, oh and afk'ing near the event coordinator
    4th was at defera, not afking this time i think, might be i was only brb'ing
    5th was just seconds ago... funny enough i suprisingly don't remember where :confused: .

    i dont know what going but your game keeps crashing over and over almost 3 times in last 30 min and before you ask i fix my firewall to what you said and check for virus's and repaired game 5 times now i was in middle of stf 2 times in sto when this happened also when it crashes it wont even let me use your bug report option at all

    ditto im crashing like crazy too at first i thought it was graphics card drivers but since so many are also crashing since patch... guess not.

    Sitting in sector space, chatting in fleet chat... not moving

    Crashed for me as well, Fleet Defense. Everyone crashed and logged in some minutes later.
    The game is unplayable now. -.-

    My wife is almost getting happy i cant play this game (and now have more time to spend on her)... You know we don't want that, do we?! :confused:

    cell ship bridge, kdf academy twice, house member reported in Qo'nos system

    the number of house members online is the lowest I've ever seen for this time of day

    I have a problem also. After i log-in and the launcher checks game version, it tells me that the game is patching but nothing happens and i can't cancel the operation. Also before that the game crashed around five times in less than 10 minutes.

    I've crashed at least 3, possibly 4 times since the patch. All have been at Station K-7. It looks like from the other posters, crashes are not isolated to one area / event. Once I was standing around, another time in the exchange, a third time queuing for an event. I don't remember the 4th.

    I verified all files once on re-start.

    Also, I'm STILL getting rubber-banding and "Server Not Responding" errors in-game. The location doesn't matter: Federation fleet alert, Exchange, K-7 shipyard, etc...

    VERY frustrating. :(
