the tal-shiar is a mutual enemy, and all three factions agree the Tal Shiar are completely insane and need to be squished under a very big foot. The Federation also has always gone out of it's way to help fledgling governments (the Bajorans for example).
Congratulations on missing the point entirely. Not only is the comparison to Bajor utterly wrong (Bajor wasn't invaded by Bajorans), the Federation explicitly stays out of the internal affairs of other powers. To quote a particular Fleet Admiral "A civil war is by definition an internal matter".
Remember that prime directive thang?
Secondly, call me old fashioned but a faction capable of fielding planet killers doesn't need military support.

Prime Directive? You mean the thing that was so horribly convoluted and screwed up that it caused characters in the show to not bat an eyelash at genocide. Besides, the Defiant was a federation ship, but was manned mostly by Bajorans who had no connections to starfleet.

Don't need to do research, as I stated the purchases were for my 4 main federation characters, I was just annoyed at the fact that Romulans are not their own faction like KDF and Federation you have to choose who to join.
It would make sense if they were their own faction but they are not.
There is no fault anywhere, I just think its stupid to not have access to federation ships on a romulan FEDERATION character that has a federation rank.
Romulans are there own faction the reason they are allied with the Feds/KDF is for support only, No they don't have there own starbase but in a sense they don't need there own atm because they are still in the rebuilding process.
Not sure how long you have been with the game but if you had read all the blogs leading up to LoR release you would have known that the romulans could not use fed/KDF T5 ships.

We have planet killers? Where can I get one?
We also have the oh so destructive thalaron burst on the scimitar that is a planet[*] killer.
[*]Planet killer is here defined as anything roughly the size of a coke can or smaller.
