If flaming was too be done on Risa, then I'm very sorry it was done towards one of our devs. I also formally apologize for our communities behaviour. Perhaps a real day off for Tacos is in order?

In light of recent events (and to make light of recent events) I submit that for next year's festival the food item "Risian Taco" do be added to the list of delicacies available for purchase with Lohlunat Favors.

Comes standard with Risian Fire Sauce.

tacos i am sorry that you had to deal with the flack of a few hot headed player that to not know the difference between a arts and system designer and a system fixer.

toco i hope that you will be relaxed after you risa vacation and be inspired to maybe improve the inside of the star fleet ships to look more in line with canon ship classes and era. particulary the nx class inside, pre tos ship inside, tem enterprise class ncc-1701 2272 bridge sisk bay and very limited medical lcards, entherprise alpha with all 3 different bridges between star trek 4, 5, and 6, excelior class with both the tos/2280 experimental libarry access card and star trek 6 bridge and star trek 7 darker bridge. the different oberth and mirenda bridge over the years, voyager ship inside, ambassador inside and different bridges like a 2220's bridge 2244 bridge 2250's refit bridge 2260 refit bridge and one or two 2370's bridges. galaxy class insides also galaxy class battle bridge, sovergine class insides.

tocos do you have a star trek bridge that you like more then any other bridge?

i have more then one bridge that i like the most in this order. they are enterprise d bridge 2371 refit bridge and admiral william riker all good things bridges enterprise d also both of the enterprises c and d yesterday's enterprise, uss pasture bridge, star trek 6 enterprise alpha bridge star trek 5 lcards bridge which was a bit head of is time, uss kelvin ncc-0514 bridge and the saucer inside, star trek 4 enterprise alpha brighter refit bridge with a test bed lacards angain a bit ahead of there time, the jj enterprise bridge even though it takes some time to get use to. for escorts corvette sized i like both the belfast/defiant bridge and the star trek 6 enterprise alpha bridge and larger escorts i would like to us lean luc picards over worked stargazer bridge uss halfaways late 2350's bridge and the lakota bridge 2372.

most cruisers and larger science ship i like using the galaxy class bridge or the enterprise f bridge. smaller cruiser i would like to star trek 6 enterprise bridge but in blue, star trek 5 very sciencey and early lcards, star trek 5 also very sciencey brighter conni refit bridge.

It's the 4th of July...it's a holiday. So what does any decent person who works on a game do on his day off? GAME OF COURSE!

However.....after reaching Risa today our fearless (environment artist - keep that in mind) pops up with a hearty hello to all his fellow players.

This is when things got out of hand.

#1 - Flaming the artist because you dont have the skill to fly the Fly High mission (which I do on 3 toons everyday and have never had an issue) and screaming that its broken...is childish.

#2 - Screaming that your computer is sub par and your graphics are glitchy at the artist is childish.

#3 Screaming at the artist that your bird is glitched and not moving so FIX IT NOW OR ELSE at the artist...is childish.

Im so embarrassed by our community today. It disgusts me that someone can't even log in and be social on a holiday without getting burned to the ground with insults and threats.

Seriously Taco....I apologize for our community today. You guys work hard...you listen to what we say, you join in with us in the game....very rare for a gaming company to do that.

    We love you for it.

That is a truly sad and stirring tale of woe. I hate to hear that. Still, least this is better than most MMO communities. At least most people here are fairly respectful and helpful.
Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it. - Bubba

Man the Zone chat was on fire.

However, I was extremely disappointed that he could have the nerve to show up there without spamming a Gigantic disco/party ball over the WHOLE map - causing everyone to dance!

    What the heck Taco???:P

I happened to be on Risa when taco was in zone. 1st time I've ever seen a dev in game chat. Was just going to say hi or something but then saw all the zone chat filling up with questions and stuff for him, was scrolling faster than I could read.

Felt sorry for him and didn't bother saying anything in zone chat. Can't imagine how many PMs and mails he was getting too lol

It's good to see devs (or hear of them) being in game, especially if they happen to exercise their Q like abilities over the other players

Unfortunately, the community is probably composed of the same angry kids everywhere. I apologise for them, and I thank you for your time, and work.
STO have a real opportunity to have Devs that participate both ingame and on the forum regularly, more than just a random "Thx for the feedback" and "We will investigate this issue" we can see elsewhere. Some people say they don't listen, but I want them to move on the SWTOR forum, or almost any other MMO forum, and they'll understand what that really mean.

Keep up the good work, and upgrade your flame shield, most of us love the job you do !

    What SWTOR forum? :P

    Heh, that's unfortunate.

That part should definitely be kept on the forums as I am sure there are a lot of people who would simply love to play or hang out with the developers.

That's just wasting and ruining it for everyone right there

This is disgusting to say the least. A guy comes online out of goodness and these semi-function idjits go postal.

Sorry Taco for this appalling behavior.

If it can help, I'd like to invite him in bar of Great Halls in QnoS, make him drunk, feed him the heart of targ and send him to his quarter with a dozen of slave girls ready to do things which was never heard and experienced by a human male before.

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

Risa zone chat is good for two things:

    1) The odd person that was giving away free favours early in the event
    2) It brings the morons from all 3 factions together in one chat which makes filling the ignore list easy

Risa chat is the worst..worse than ESD. I keep it off so i guess that is why i missed all the drama. The day 2 of Risa event and talks about how God hates gays and that they are defected individuals was enough for me to switch off the chat permanently.

while i believe that we ( the player base) need to hold the devs and cryptic/pwe responsible for this game as a whole. i will not support people doing it in a childish, and immature manner..

i learned long ago, that you have to be calm, collected, and fair when giving negative feedback.. if you just yell and say it sucks, no one is gonna listen.. but when you come on, and politely explain what is bothering you, and even offer feedback as to what you think will remedy the problem, well then, that is when your post/comment goes from most likely being ignored, to being taken seriously..

a particularly large problem with this game, is the fact that there is no "police presence" ingame, like in others.. so the trolls and flamers are pretty mcuh free to go to town.. and since there is no 3 strikes and your out rule or what not, they dont really care about being silenced for a day or so.. i personally have turned zone chat off, the only use for it in sto, is for the trolls and flamers to do there thing..

if taco was in there, and he decided to go into zone chat, im sure he knew what he was in for. probably sat back with a bear to watch the insanely dumb things being said, and ignored what was going down. this isnt his first rodeo... lol...

Still... Aside from the fact that berating, insulting, threatening and making demands of a dev when they appear is not the most efficient way to get your issues dealt with, it's just plain bad manners. You're at work for Pete's sake and all things considered, you all do a fine job. Questions, respectful and constructive criticism is one thing, the above is quite another.

All players have things about the game we'd like to see changed/fixed and our own private pet peevs and wishlists, but in the end, we're all still here for one simple reason: We love the game. If we didn't, we wouldn't be here.

Some of us already understood that if you could not handle such things you would not have popped up there. The first few posts may have been sincere but a lot of this is just folks that can't resist taking their favorite high horse for a ride. That's not exactly behavior worthy of notation by the Emily Post Institute itself. So, just smile and wave. Nevermind letting them know it doesn't offend you, they didn't listen the first time you said it.

Ha ha, no 2 made me lol.

However, just wanted to say maximum respect to the OP for making this thread and the fact that Taco has replied shows that the forums do get monitored despite common belief.

If i had witnessed said event on zone chat i would have also been inclined to make a thread like this. Some people who are prevalent on Risa zone really need neutering, so as to prevent any further woe and misfortune befalling other MMO players of the future, in possible chance encounters with their offspring.

This is the downfall of F2P games, every Tom, **** and Harry with a PC can play, including the imbeciles and children that you just dont see as many of in subscription games. Ah well, like the man said, ignore frenzy!

Regardless, as a person/taco Tacofangs, you shouldn't have to put up with stupid and disrespectful comments from (most) zone chat people.

I'm not sure if you caught it, but when you were there I posted in zone chat about a thank-you for the great looking Scimitar bridge. And I mean it, it looks very authentic. Any complaints about the bridge are really about the canon design, since it is one of the best canon-based bridges in the game. :)

Actually Taco, I feel I owe you a personal apology in regards to my comments about the Kumari bridge, thank you for staying true to the TV show on set design when you designed the ship bridge. I appreciate you staying true to canon and to the design of original work.

Once again, I humbly apologize, and thanks for mingling with the community. :D
