Scimitar: "Rapid Maneuvering Thrusters" not working properly

ussultimatumussultimatum Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Rapid Maneuvering Thrusters
Increases your Turn Rate by 2.
When leaving Romulan Battle Cloak, you retain the Cloak's bonus to
Turn Rate for the same duration as your Cloak Ambush lasts.

Speed remains consistent, no powers are being activated:

With Battle Cloak
Turn = 35

The instant Battle Cloak is disengaged
Turn = 27

Once ambush wears off
Turn = 17

Something is not working properly in step 2.

    I can confirm your figures although mine are a little different, but are you sure you are supposed to retain the full cloak turn rate on ambush?

    Well, that's what the UI tool tip indicates, as well as the blog post.

    The two-piece set bonus gives the ship Rapid Maneuvering Thrusters, which increases the ship's turn rate. In addition, it allows the Scimitar to maintain the turn bonus from cloaking after exiting cloak for the duration of their Cloaking Ambush.

    Only a Dev can really tell us how it's intended to function.

    This is due to a bug in how the turn rate (and speed) bonus from cloaking works. Basically, right now the turn rate bonus and speed bonus from cloaking are being buffed by other buffs, rather than giving a flat bonus. The set bonus is giving a flat bonus based on what the correct turn rate bonus for cloaking is supposed to be.

    When the bug with cloaking is fixed, these will be back in sync with one another.

    how about more then a flat +2 from the console bonus? +2 is a huge deal if this was a +2 to base turn, but +2 to adjusted turn, thats near 20 for most on this ship, so +2 is next to nothing. a +5 would be reasonable

    Hi Archon,

    First thanks for stopping by with this info.

    Second, if you're able to elaborate at some point the way this is calculated (or is supposed to be) that would really be of interest.

    Lastly, is the +10 from BC (which I think is the correct amount) bonus to turn rate a flat turn rate bonus added to the end of the calculation or is it added at the beginning to the base?

    As always, thanks for your time.

    It's intended to be a flat +10 to Turn Rate after all other calculations.
