there's never been an MMO ive seen where all reps are as easy to get as each other....and i've played a lot of MMOs...
"scam" ? let's talk dark iron dwarves and wintersaber trainers....
OMG! I hate you for reminding me of that cat trainer.
That had to be the WORST grind of any game I have ever been in. Bar None!
If peeps think grinding in this game is bad, they need to try that grind. It will make you pull out your hair, and your own teeth, with no numbing agent.
I dont see the problem at all here, 35 marks per run (70 total for both) compared to 18 per run, easier to get to rather traveling there and I just did both within.. 15minutes.. whats not to like.
Wait, what? We now get 35 marks per run instead of just 15, and we can run them every half-hour instead of just once a day? Is that 35 only during the "Event Hours" or is it even more then (how much)?
I'm finding it harder and harder to find a downside here, folks.
Today's patch sounds like win, win in regards to Nukura, for me. I can't wait to get off work, get home, and try out this horror.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

It's 35 during normal hours and 50 during the event.
Can confirm the 35 which is nice, but the event has become harder to complete. You do need a good team and you're unlikely to get that through a public queue.

Right here, you have found the reason for the higher marks. To actually get the marks, you have to find a good team. In public queues this now NEVER happens. getting 35 marks is better, but how long do you have to persevere before you see them?
Even if I get my security escort and two quantum shadows, my teams always lose.
Grinding is one thing, but having to hunt for a team, and then grind, and fail and then hunt for another team, grind and fail, and to repeat indefinitely is just too pointless.
How about this: Get rid of ground content. Seriously. It's laughable in the long run, it doesn't compare to what's offered in other MMO's that are SUPPOSED to have ground. Cryptic doesn't do ground very well, and a good number of players can't even render the environment properly because Cryptic sucks at making ground content.
Stop throwing bones to the COD and FPS players, and focus on SPACE combat. That's the real base of this game.

So says you, I know a lot of people who enjoy the ground content in this game because it's not FPS and it's different. Speccing into ground helps you play a lot and will make you a better player.
Maybe Cryptic should force people to play ground more, people spend a load of time and money getting Mx XII VR space gear but nothing on the ground.
If people actually learned these maps and played them properly, it wouldn't be an issue. They are supposed to be hard to provide a challenge. Not something you can just rock up to with 20 people and roflstomp.
Only if non romulan players can get Rebreathers for Rhi'lo station.
What does that have to do with anything?
A EV suit is required for the Tholian missions and a Rebreather is not required for Elachi mission and is unique to Romulans wile EV Suit anyone can get.
- 35 marks and 50 during bonus time, making it the most rewarding missons for Nukara rep available.
- can be done every 30 minutes
Cons:
- People are showing up without evac suits, dying 3 times then rage-quitting.
- The Self-Destruct one is unnecessarily harder than the Tholian Project leader.
- Destroyed any social aspect of grouping up and kicking some tholian TRIBBLE.
Personal experience:
Tholian Project leader - As easy at it was before, kill the crystals and you're golden. One-shot every time
Self-Destruct - People keep queueing up without suits, full teams can't handle the swarm of enemies around Stage 4, even when using the sub-systems to help. One team was even trying to "bottleneck" a group of tholians using cover shields, this is not right.
Overall: Okay, but at this rate at least ONE of these new "Ground STFs" are going to become barren and avoided. Guess which one

Not to mention running ISE over and over again, under the assumption that your amayzing at space strickly for beating this elite run muahhahha.. now that's funny stuff

Anyone with half an ounce of sense would realise you can get an EV suit from the dil store for the sky high price of 100 dil. Anyone can do that. Or if you're that much of a skinflint, you can run boldly they rode in order to get one or buy from the exchange.
And remember, if people are too noob to know that, it's YOUR job to educate them.
Rebreathers make the level achievable for anyone without them having to wear an EV suit to complete it. They should be available to everyone.

Rebreathers wouldn't make sense cuz the atmosphere is not only unbreathable, but hot as hell.
Anything that reduces the "LFG/LFP" spam in zone chats is a step in the right direction. Nukara and New Romulus were near dead zones, socially because the entire channel was filled with two or three people in different instances yelling at the top of their lungs looking for other people to play with.
As for the crying about it being too hard. Toughen up, learn the game, and don't PUG if you don't have to. Same rules apply to every other PVE queue now.
I for one would like the queue to the universe thing to stop, but that is not the direction we are headed. I do like the idea of maybe only have queues per sector instead of the whole game. Or maybe add a special loot bag/incentive to actually flying out to your destination.
Live on Earth. Work in Space. Play with Dragons. Join the best add on to STO, the Neverwinter holodeck program! Only 14 GPL a month.
Rebreathers wouldn't make sense cuz the atmosphere is not only unbreathable, but hot as hell.
With a rebreather you'd still burn to death.
If you would quote me in context, I want Rebreathers for the "Defend Rh'lhho Station" if you dish out EV suits for Nukara. Where unless you have one of those or a really good dps team you get choked by the fumes from that little creature.
Yes, the extra marks are nice. But, there is absolutely 0 social aspect any more... seems so disconnected from everything else (really I go from being at ESD to a room, in a cave, on a planet in another sector.... and Whoosh back to where i started when its over.
Really bothering me that they have eliminated any reason to actually beam to your ship. I didn't have to travel much before, now I don't have to at all.

Once they join the mission without a EV Suit and without enough Dilithium on their character to buy one from the Dilithum Store for the mission it is to late to educate someone. The Security Chief should have a basic one so that noobz can get a EV suit to play the mission.
No it does not the rebreathers don't protect you from the heat it only protects you from toxic air.
External hard is no problem, you can 4 man that if you have to with fresh level 50 characters. The problem is the interior hard mission, can it be done with 5, ofcourse it can. I used to do it with 5 sometimes back when it was good for FM farming. Problem is now its in the queue, so you get 4 other people that may or may not have any idea how to do it, and sometimes don't even have an EV suit.
Unless the intention was to make these unable to be pugged then the interior mission needs to be tuned down or the number of players increased. As it stands right now using the public queues for this mission is about as smart as using them for ground elite stfs.
A requirement to queue that you have an EV suit in inventory would also be a step in the right direction, either that or have the security guard give out free basic ones like what you get from boldly they rode. Atleast then those people who show up without one wouldn't completely TRIBBLE over the team.
Good concept here, but needs a little work on execution.
the problem of people going in without EV suits....stems directly from Cryptic putting it in the PvE queues.
When you had to stack up and go into the area manually from Nukara Prime, you didn't have that problem. Everyone needed an EV suit just to get to the entrance.
While i'm all for challenge, i don't want to punish myself by playing a mission that is super hard and will more than likely fail me if me and my teammates aren't up to it (i don't play the Hive Assault ESTF because of this, it's pretty much broken, even with 5 players with mark XII gear)
I enjoyed the social aspect of waiting outside the entrance with a group of people and goofing off or talking while waiting for a full team. Yes the missions were easy with 8 or 10 people, but it was fun! I kept going back just to have fun
The queue system destroyed this, it's no longer fun. and the rewards while able to get more often, if you don't have a near perfect team, you're not going to get the reward.
KDF for Life! Romulan at Heart Fed cause they made me ~ :P
I got into game, joined a random PUG Queue for Ext Hard, waited a minute or two, and the event popped. Five players were there, we won the battle in ~5mins. I got 35 marks. Easy peasy.
Love it.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
i have to say i didn't often go to Nukara, simply because of travel time and because i don't like the lame map itself... (fun for about 2 hours, then it turns into a farming zone *meh*)
having the Boss fights in the queue would probably help me to do it more often, but i also agree a Team of 10 Players makes more sense for these maps 5 is just instant butt hurt.
I could deal with having a couple people without EV suits in self destruct instantly dying without being able to do anything then quitting, the problem is when half the group spawns outside the map and is unable to do anything even if they have EV suits. Happened 3 times today, tried it with fleetmates and each time we had people spawn outside the map and we had to exit before the mission even started.
Easy is not the best way for any problem and not for STO.
Maybe it is now very easy to get Nukara marks. But that is the death for Nukara Prime itself. No one will now fly to Nukara Prime, no one will play the other missions there.
In the past we had fun on Nukara Prime. There was a social part, waiting in front of the dungeon, playing HARD with 7-9 players, ore only with to engineers.
Now there are only five players. Going in and going out. Very quick. Some players leave the instance sooner then others, because there have no suit and dying.
Cryptic ruins his game. In near feature, Nukarw will be dead, sector space will be dead.
I dunno about this whole five players thing. I just ran one instance of the Internal Hard map and I had my entire away team with me. Was a little bit of a hassle having to buy 4 extra suits, but it mad the map much more doable!
I happy to see some here in the thread had a "EASY" time with it . but as with most of the PVE PUG content thats a rarity .
thats the main reason there is a ELITE STF channel ETC..
i ran in the queues last night and out of mutilple attempts. Not a single success .
some runs it was players with no EV suits , others just left or ran into death to afk it out hoping for a win .
before you had ppl who wanted to really do the missions , were at least a little prepared for it ,
now its not the case , its ruined these missions for me .
hey cryptic how about next we put the epoh taging in the queue? or the defera missions ? might as well ruin those too .
why bother leaving starbase sector at all any more do it all from the QUEUES .
Nukara was AWESOME when it gave 30 fleet marks per hard mission. I made a good number of in-game friends, and had a lot of fun (the whole point of an MMO). Now I simply can't stand it. Far less marks, fewer players, and only a 5 member team?! This is the most TRIBBLE thing I have seen from this game yet.
Nukara is now completely useless, as the PUGs make it simply unbearable, and the easy and medium missions reward only peanut crumbs.
What is worse is that that the nebula mission is now the best source of nukara marks. I seriously might not even finish the nukara rep with one toon, let alone all of them
