The Cure Applied (Ground) Crashing Repeatedly

First crashed on trying to log into The Cure Applied (mission loaded to around 94% and then STO crashed). Then I lowered graphics settings to minimum possible and was able to log in, however after bit of walking there was another crash. After several tries (and equally many quick crashes) I stopped trying.

Running Windows 8 with 8 GB RAM, 3.2 ghz quad-core processor and GeForce GTX 660. Haven't had such repeat crashes at any other task force or mission, and other parts of game run fine even with graphics settings set to maximum.
