On Stardate 92447.7, I commanded a squadron of assets from Task Force Avalon, Starbase 381, Starfleet Intelligence, and M.A.C.O. Team 30 on an operation to appropriate, secure and return a [REDACTED] for study by 26th Fleet.

The principle objectives of this operation, as laid out in a briefing tendered to Fleet Command earlier this week, were achieved at a cost far less than projected by operational planning. In brief, I commend the expert actions of those involved, however more detailed recommendations shall follow in this report.

At 1712 hours station time, the U.S.S. Yamanu, R.R.W. D'Daen and U.S.S. John Paul Jones departed Starbase 381 to rendezvous with the U.S.S. Watchtower on the outskirts of the OL-272 system, approximately 35 light years distant.

OL-272 is presently being used by [REDACTED] and was evacuated by the U.S.S. Ramillies, under my command, approximately two weeks ago.

Upon arrival at OL-272, the squadron briefly made a rendezvous with the [REDACTED], dispatched by Klingon Intelligence, to take delivery of special intelligence data necessary for the successful prosecution of primary objectives. While [REDACTED] did not disclose how the Klingon Empire came into possession of Herald command codes, by Centuion t'Latta's estimation, this mission would not have been successful without them and so I ask that fleet command please forward a note of thanks (along with any other physical attachments deemed appropriate by the diplomatic attache) to the [REDACTED] for their assistance.

The U.S.S. John Paul Jones assumed a reconnaissance position in orbit of the system's fifth planet, providing rolling intelligence, information warfare, command and control and interdiction capabilities to the infiltration squadron which headed to the target location at OL-272/II. This unit consisted of the Eclipse-class cruisers U.S.S. Yamanu and U.S.S. Watchtower, along with the R.R.W. D'Daen.

SWACS operators aboard John Paul Jones made early identifications of as many as [REDACTED].

A viable target vessel was located in geostationary orbit above the planet. Designated VIZIR, the [REDACTED] was sitting at anchor adjacent to a resupply and repair facility and matched sensor records from a Task Force Britain (U.S.S Merrett) engagement with [redacted] on Stardate 92426.8. Undermanned and with no enemy signals suggesting the infiltration element had been detected, I issued the authorization for Strike 1 to prosecute the objective.

    [FURTHER NARATIVE REDACTED]

Centurion t’Serel advises that repair work to the U.S.S. Yamanu will take no longer than one week.

I am, finally, requested and required to note the formal objection to the above actions by Captain Ali’riel Merandes, who cited “unnecessary and extreme risk” to a member of her staff and command. Captain Merandes believed that the information possessed by Centurion t’Serel of Starbase 381’s systems constituted an unacceptable security risk should she have been capture. I, in my capacity as Commander of M.A.C.O. Team 30, and Captain T’Molina, as Commander of Task Force Avalon, disagreed with this assessment. In the final outcome, I stand by the record.

I further note for the record that the previous commander of Starbase 381, Captain Kenzi Alenis, was made aware of this operation and did not object to the plans, strategic contingencies, or objectives stated herein. Captain Merandes’ ability to adequately orientate herself with her command and its operations is neither my concern, nor the interest of M.A.C.O. Team 30.

VIZIR is currently undergoing a full intelligence assessment at a location determined by Captain Mark Shranz. Upon conclusion of this work, it is my understanding that a detailed engineering study of VIZIR will be permitted under the supervision of Centurion t’Latta and Starfleet Intelligence. Supplementary to this, I make note for the record that in part due to her decisive contribution to this operation, Centurion t’Latta was allowed to name the captured vessel in light of the fact it’s official designation was lost as a consequent of the memory dump. I understand that the name Centurion t’Latta has chosen translates from Rihannsu as “Sister’s Fury”. I see no reason this name should not be allowed to stand on the record.

    Recommendations

In light of the above report, I am officially nominating the members of M.A.C.O. Team 30, including Commander Tadashi Shirada, and Centurion Tel’iss t’Serel for the Starfleet Silver Star.
I am also recommending that the Purple Heart be bestowed on Commander Tadashi Shirada, Commander Kimeka, and Lieutenant Commander Stacy Adams for injuries sustained in the line of fire.

I am further requesting that the Admiralty forward an adequately censored record of this report to Riov t’Latta, along with a recommendation that Centurion t’Latta be appropriately recognised for her ingenuity in this operation. Without it, I am confident in saying we would not have achieved this outcome, and while history may not - out of necessity - learn what happened here, it is important for us to recognise individual contributions.

Finally, and by no means lightly, I am forced to consider the actions of Lieutenant Commander Stacy Adams in the course of this operation. The above report contains an account of a combat action that can be witnessed and seconded by at least three commissioned officers of the 26th Fleet. It is my opinion that Lieutenant Commander Stacy Adams, having gone above and beyond the call of duty in saving the lives of three of her fellow officers, and near-single-handedly repulsing a significantly superior enemy force at a time of potentially critical mission failure using only skill, courage, and sound, tactical acumen, has met or exceeded every requirement for Starfleet’s second-highest military honour.

Despite being wounded, Lieutenant Commander Adams’ unwavering resolve and determination to achieve an ambitious objective with no regard for her own life is in keeping with the highest traditions of the service.

I therefore nominate her for the Starfleet Cross without reservation, and ask that I be permitted to seek supporting statements from Centurion t’Latta and Commander Shirada following any acceptance of this nomination.

    This concludes my report.

    Corris Sprint
    Admiral's Personal Log
    Stardate Supplemental

I remember a time when the only thing we had to fear was the Borg, lurking in the shadows. The Klingons, rattling their sabers, baying for blood like a bunch of Viking savages. I miss those days, and I realize how 'easy' we had it, when our only foe was the Empire. Starfleet has been broken and bloodied, since Operation Daisey Cutter.

Captain Kragen's incompotence and short sightedness has cost us all dearly. In a panic to defend the civilian centers being bombarded, we rushed head long into a poorly concieved plan to 'assault' the Iconian Sphere dubbed Beach Head. We mustered every ship available to the alliance and threw ourselves at them, breaking against the sphere's outter shell, and the defending Heralds like waves cresting against the prow of an ocean going vessel

Starfleet managed to get a team aboard the Herald Flagship, but names are not being released for the saftey of the officers involved. SCIS is worried about retaliation against the operatives that managed to kill M'Tara, one of the three Iconians leading this invasion. Hers was an unexpected ray of hope to an otherwise disasterous mission, however the celebrations were fleeting, at best.

With the murder of their icon, the enemy forces have become incensed. Where quarter and surrender were acceptable options to the enemy, they've begun a policy of scorched Earth. They're burning population centers to the ground, and our ships are helpless against them.

I'll never forget the last time I spoke to Tomas DiNozzo, Admiral in Command of the 10th Fleet. Most of his ships were relegated to support roles, cargo transportation, medical shuttling. A lot of his ships were pulled from mothballs because they had hulls capable of maintaining breathable atmosphere and warp engines. No weapons, no shields, just transports.

When the Heralds entered orbit of Andoria and began to melt the southern glaciars, five of Tom's ships were in orbit. Every one of them selected a target, and jumped to warp one. They obliterated themselves, buying time for the Home Fleet to get there from Sol, to drive off the invaders. I'm pretty sure that Tom was on one of those ships, or has since followed the example of his Captains.

We can't win this war, anymore than a man pissing into the wind can subdue a forrest fire.

I hear rumors that Quinn has an ace up his sleeve out in the Delta Quadrant, that the SCE has enlisted some of civilization's brightest minds to build some sort of "super-weapon". Frankly, it sounds like the wishful thinking and bullsqueeze flights of fantsy that the lower ranks tell themselves. If anything, this Black Op is is more likely to be an ARK operation, to run concurrent with [REDACTED].

    latest?cb=20110301080350
I'm taking the 26th back into the fight, on Sunday. We'll be going to 39 Sierra to resupply, repair, and take on her wounded crew. The old battlement has seen a lot of action since the war started, and her fleet needs the support. I've drawn up a list of targets that I need to forward to Captain T'Molina.

Captain Alenis' operations under cover were instrumental in locating these targets of opprotunity. I won't name them here, I can't, they're too important. If not to the war effort in any meaningful capacity, at least to the morale of the men and women who are being butchered in this conflagaration.

If I can't save their lives, the least I can do is try and offer them some sense of accomplishment before the Reaper comes for them.

Captain Kai on the other hand, will have different assignment. She and her Nautaliss project will begin accumilating civilians. Colonies, random transports, I don't care. We need to get as many men and women into the Outback as possible. At this point, I dont think it matters what species they are, or what their qualifications or credentials are.

Where there is life, theres hope, and I'll be damned if I'm going to lose that, too.

SUBJ: Orders Update & Task Force Status

    All,

As of 2000 hours last night, Herald forces have overrun the Sigma-X5 system, seizing control of 26th Fleet's dilithium mining and refinement facility, and our alpha site.

This was a staged withdrawal involving multiple commands over a period of forty eight hours.

    Mdo3ZPm.jpg

Multiple evacuation convoys were run between Starbase 381 and the Sigma-X5 mine. While the loss of this facility is a major impediment to long-term fleet logistics, the actions of Task Force Avalon ensured there we no casualties among the Sigma X-5 Garrison, and we have secured a substantial stockpile of refined dilithium reserves that will prove critical in supplying this campaign in the immediate future.

Under the command of Lieutenant Commander Stacy Adams, the starships York, Vauquelin, Narwhal and Elysium sortied ahead of evacuation missions to launch a diversionary attack on the OL-272 system, from which the Herald fleet is staging its advance in to the Outback. Dubbed Operation: Trojan, their primary objective was to delay the Herald fleet, and while successful in this goal, all four vessels sustained damage and will require extensive repairs before being returned to the front.

Evacuations continued until 1930 hours Thursday, with the Elysium, Daedalus, Firefly, Mercy, and St. Lo completing a final extraction from the system ahead of the arrival of Herald advance forces.

Captain T'Molina has ordered that all Task Force Avalon vessels will operate at Yellow Alert until further notice.

An emergency staging area has been established at OJ-534 in sector M12, codenamed Whitesabre. The facility is equipped as a basic resupply and repair point for the Task Force, and any vessels staging to the Herald front should consider this home base for the time being. Vessels with serious damage should rotate back to Starbase 381 as required.

On the recommendation and request of several commanders, Avalon Command is authorising and ordering combat drills for all ships, to be conducted every 12 hours. It is also possible Avalon Command may assess Task Force Readyness with fleet-wide combat drills, so Starship captains are ordered to remain ready on short notice.

At this time, the main thrust of the Herald advance is to the north and south-east of Forward Operating Base Whitesabre. For reasons that we do not fully understand, the bulk of the Herald fleet has elected not to advance on our defensive positions across the centre. We are at a massive strategic deficit in terms of numbers, initiative and position - and standing orders remain for all ships not to engage the Herald fleet unnecessarily.

All ships will stand by for further deployment orders to be issued by Task Force Command in the next 36 hours. Admiral Nightmoon is coordinating with the fleet command staff to direct a counter-attack, but these orders can be expected to take some time. In the interim, our strategic objectives will be the relief and evacuation of allied, civilian population centers most directly threatened by the Herald advance, and the defence of Starbase 381.

Task Force Theirr is coordinating with Task Force Avalon through Admiral Nightmoon, and will continue to receive orders directly from Riov Ineania t'Latta.

The present state of the front line is here for your individual review.

    lYNFAZP.jpg

...On a personal note, and at the risk of overstepping my authority, I feel it necessary to offer my personal thoughts.

I understand that there will be many within this command who may object to our withdrawal from Sigma X-5, and believe that we should fight the Herald fleet head-on, with tenacious spirit and stubborn resolve - that we should not take this attack lying down.

Know this: There is not a senior commander in this fleet who does not understand how you feel.

The struggle we now face here, at our home, is not a question of resolve, or a test of courage. There is no battlefield upon which we can call ourselves the equal of the Heralds. We are entering a campaign against a foe who has repeatedly demonstrated themselves to be infinitely our greater, and we are being tasked to fight them for our very right to exist.

There will come a day when we have our chance - our one, best chance - to earn that immutable right, and we will do so united, no matter what distant star we fondly remember as home, or what differences history may claim we share in bitter animosity.

Every ship, every battle, and every life counts - and it may be that our most difficult, yet most important responsibility is that we must choose where and when to yield.

Though we are vastly outnumbered, and appallingly outgunned, there has never been an aggressor in the history of warfare that has been able to use numbers to defeat a cunning foe that understands guile. When we strike the Heralds, we will do so decisively and with confidence, and we will win.

Until that time - it is our first task, and most honourable calling, to protect those who cannot defend themselves.

The 26th is the epitome of excellence. We need that of you now, more than ever before.

    Yours in service,

    U.S.S. SILVERFIN (NCC-91776)
    26TH FLEET

U.S.S. SILVERFIN AFTER ACTION REPORT – ARBOREA V RECON MISSION

On Stardate 93235.76 U.S.S. Silverfin (NCC-91776), upon receipt of orders from Commander – Battlegroup Ramillies, departed her secured position in OB-15 at warp 8.

Laying in course for OB-222 I ordered use of emergency overrides and velocity increase to Warp 9.

Three hours after departing OB-15 I ordered the Silverfin under cloak and radio silence protocols be observed.

After evading several enemy sorties into our space, all of whoms’ positions have been flagged to TFA command, we arrived within reach of OB-222. In order to maintain stealth protocols, I ordered a velocity decrease to Warp 3.

After arriving in OB-222, we began with a full sensor sweep of the system. As my priority was maintaining stealth, I ordered the use of passive sensors.

    JyAlg08.jpg
U.S.S. Silverfin under cloak attempting to locate the U.S.S. Avenger

After detecting a faint Ion Trail from the U.S.S. Avenger, we followed this towards the fifth planet. Once we were within range of the fifth planet, we were able to get a read on the U.S.S. Avenger.

    7gYlDoA.png
U.S.S. Avenger in orbit of Arborea V

The Avenger is currently surrounded by four enemy vessels that are not transmitting any form of identification. Analysis indicates that the vessels are all older local ships used by the group known as “Outback Raiders.”

Though we could detect internal phaser fire, we could not get a transporter lock on any of the lifesigns showing up within the Avengers’ hull. After some further scans, we detected a transporter dispersal field around the Avenger being caused by up to four transporter inhibitors.

    qSa9zus.png
A transporter inhibitor on the Avenger’s hull

I should also include a brief summary of the damage to the Avenger that we could detect.

    – Severe damage to Impulse and Warp drives.
    - Multiple hull breaches across the entire extent of the Avengers’ hull.
    - Main power offline.
    - 40% of EPS relays disabled or destroyed.

Due to the overwhelming enemy force compared to the resources available to me at the time, I ordered the retreat of the Silverfin to transmit this report to TFA command.

    Casualties

    None

    Resources Expended

    18% of Dilithium reserves

    Stellar Cartography Record

    [

    Conclusion

A full recon force of at least 5 vessels should be mustered to effect a rescue mission for the U.S.S. Avenger and her crew. The Silverfin is returning to her position in OB-15, unless otherwise ordered to reverse course.

    • CAPT J. Kai, XO Task Force Avalon
    • CMDR K. Lanae, CO USS Repulse
    • LTCDR A. Milliena, CO USS Hakaishin

    Mission Logistics:
    Location: Arborea V
Objective: Rescue the USS Avenger from Outback Raiders
    Status: Success
Hostile Action: Outback Raiders and Fennec Vulpes

    Officer's Report:
Upon receipt of the Recon Report from Captain Shranz [attached], Admiral Nightmoon called a sortie of all available officers. After laying down the situation, we formed up and headed out to Arborea V to recover the USS Avenger from out of the Outback Raiders' hands.

    sxw3a9q.jpg

As we pulled into the system, we quickly found the Avenger surrounded by Outback Raiders. The task force dealt with two waves of them and they were defeated. Then upon the COMM we heard a very familiar voice, "Fine you defeated my escorts but soon it won't matter. I've transferred to the Avenger and she will now be my flagship. Leave now or I start executing her crew!"

We moved closer in to get a detailed scan of the damage to the Avenger. It was exactly as was reported by Captain Shranz. There was severe damage to Impulse and Warp drives and they were rendered offline. Multiple hull breaches across the entire extent of the hull. Main power was offline. 40% of EPS relays disabled or destroyed. Shielding was completely offline.

Our scans detected internal phaser fire, implying that the Avenger crew was fighting back against their boarders. And also as was reported by Captain Shranz, there were transport inhibitors attached to the hull so we are unable to transport over. We formed our ground team and boarded shuttles to the Avenger. We equipped EVA suits and space walked across the hull to disable the transport inhibitors. There were groups of Outback raiders by each of the inhibitors providing heavy resistance. We were able push them back and turn the inhibitors off.

Once the inhibitors were down, we were beamed inside the Avenger. Again we were met with Raiders providing heavy resistance. We tried to aid the crew that were fighting back and injured as we moved towards the turbolift. We spoke to a Saurian Security Officer who told us that the fox wants the ship and if he didn't have the ship he was going to blow it up. He mentioned that there were too many raiders guarding the way to the turbolift. We had to fight our way there, and then once we got the bridge we had more resistance.

When the Raiders were all defeated, we found Fennec Vulpes in the door of the Ready Room behind a force field.

    HJ52URH.jpg

He said we were too late, since the self destruct code was already activated and the shields had gone back up. He beamed off the ship and the Barclay reported that there was a klingon bird of prey that left the system. The crew insisted we needed Lieutenant Commander Mansfield's command codes to shut down the self destruct, but when we disabled the forcefield, Mansfield was knocked out cold. Admiral Nightmoon quickly went to the computer and punched in the prefix codes and the self destruct sequence was cancelled.

Mansfield appeared to have been tied to a chair and beaten heavily. We were able to get him and all who needed it medical attention and the USS Repulse towed the Avenger back to Starbase 381 to be stationed in the drydock. The rest of the ships provided defense of the Repulse and the Avenger as we traveled.

    Personal Notes:
Everyone on the rescue mission performed admirably and above the call of their duty. Captain Shranz's report was very informative so we knew exactly what we were heading into in the space.

The Fox does seem to be back in full force. This poses a problem as we have the Heralds and Iconians to deal with as well. I recommend all ships maintain constant readiness for either enemy to pose a problem.

I'd say it appears we might have a two front war... but fighting the Iconians... there aren't really any fronts.
