My thoughts exactly. The amount of effort it would take to include the missing Tal Shiar uniform pieces would be trivial. Likewise, the use of the IRW prefix is pretty heavily restricted. my personal suspicion is that the prefix and uniform were thrown in at the last minute to placate folks who were upset over not being able to play as the RSE-and it shows. the whole implementation of the Tal Shiar uniform and the IRW prefix is pretty slipshod and incomplete.
Those are rank specific uniforms when performing infiltration, Troi also posed as a Tal Shiar Major once and your identity as a Tal Shiar was linked to a specific rank.
You never rose above it because you got caught and I dont think you can pass as a Tal Shiar Colonel since anything higher that Subcommander would be too higher rank.
At no point this is a "reward" because you decided to "switch sides", this is how some people want to treat it but thats not Cryptic intent.
Plus I rather have the actual canon uniforms instead of this, that reminds me that the Tal Shiar only had 2 known ranks ... Major and Colonel that are certain not the same as Romulan Military ranks.
I understand the logic when you play through the missions involving the Tal Shiar infiltration, but that's not the reason we want the uniform. We just like the FULL Tal Shiar uniforms, and would like the ability to wear them anytime we want.
The Federation gets the Mirror Universe uniforms, and they're not at all relevant to any plot, nor are the Bajoran uniforms, or the TOS uniforms. We just have them because it's cool to wear them, not because they're part of the story.
I personally wear my Enterprise (close enough to the MACO) uniforms because I like how they look, and I wear the Korath uniform on my KDF character.
Well If anyone didn't catch it, I did post the color values for the Centurion & Uhlan uniforms. We still can't get the full uniform, but at least we'll be able to have the right colors:
Do you happen to know the KDF color equivalents? KDF-Romulans are stuck with the limited Klingon palette. Also, I'm guessing Tal Shiar don't have division colors anywhere?

No division colors, although there are two color variants for sublieutenants.
I'm not sure about KDF Rom colors. Unfortunately I don't have a KDF Rom yet to test out color schemes on.
With Republic Day here and now, I wish some of the crew did not wear brown paper bags for uniforms. I wore a Romulan TNG variant, but I would've felt much more posh in a Tal Shi'ar Uniform.
[SIGPIC]Join Date: August 2009[/SIGPIC] I live in an alternate universe, where j.j. abrams and cryptic never existed,
where R.S.E. is what it always should be.
For the time being I would settle for female Romulans having access to all the clothing parts that male Romulans have.
Isn't just the belt, usually for those of a lower rank?
Either way, the full Uniform is already on both RSE and RR NPCs, so I really don't see what the holdup is, unless some dev wants to chime in or something.
I love how they call it the Tal'Shiar uniform but it lacks the Tal'Shiar logo.
Instead they use the RSE logo which is not a symbol of the Tal'Shiar.
That's because it was the RSE uniform until Legacy of Romulus, when the entire RSE armed forces was retconned into being Tal Shiar. You can take a walk on New Romulus and see patrols of Republic 'Tal Shiar' all over the place. Back then New Romulus was one of the emergent factions originating after Sela's disappearance-which still shows in a bunch of dialogue. So it made sense for them to have a lot of RSE military personnel. The ship in the Azure Nebula rescue missions even used to have an IRW prefix.

It's annoying that I can't even use the same parts on male and female characters. And yes, vote for more Tal Shiar uniform pieces, I want the cape, too.
Oh no, if this happens, I'd have to see other players in those ridiculous capes... Nearly as bad as the Republic pauldrons...
Ah, still worth it.
I'm not a fan of the Romulan Republic shoulder pauldrons or capes either, but the ones from the Tal Shiar are (arguably) a better design. The RR pauldrons, which are still glitched as one big metallic piece instead of being a plate with open space between them and the shoulder, hold the cape too high above the shoulders, and leave a big open space between them. The neck area then appears really odd with giant pads hanging above the shoulders, especially with a big piece of cloth hanging below them.
The Tal Shiar capes are attached to one piece that fits around the neck and shoulders much better, and the capes then hang from the shoulders instead of from above them. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of Sela's classic cape, but something like Hakeev's split capes looks really good to my eye, especially when combined with the gauntlets, boots, chest, belt, and leg accessories that share that design. I love the Tal Shiar uniform designs. I like the RR designs too, just not the shoulders and capes, not the way they are now.

I think that sums it up.
