Server not responding - Only on one character

Summary: I've tried many fixes with no luck. Problem only happens on one character.



Last night I tried zoning out of Deep Space 9 into the Beta Ursae Sector Space. As the zone was loading I got a red message at the top that said "Server not responding". I had seen this message before but usually it only lasted 5-10 seconds before the zone would load. This time I let it run for about 10 minutes before shutting it down. When I tried to log back in I got the same message "Server not responding". I shut it down and tried to log in a few more times but I got the same "Server not responding" message every single time. I googled the problem and followed a few "Fixes" guides but none of them worked. When I woke up this morning I tried again but I still got the same message. I uninstalled the game completely, restarted my PC, and started downloading it again. When I came home from work it was installed and I logged into my account and when I clicked my character it went to the loading screen and I got the "Server not responding" message again. I can make new characters and they work just fine but my main character doesn't. I've tried so many fixes and still can't login over 20 hours later. Any input would be appreciated.

I am also having this issue, and as well for 3 days now.

I DC'd after a single login into my main, and since have hit a never ending SERVER NOT RESPONDING error at exactly 93%-94%. Character is entirely unplayable.

3 days of petitions have given me nothing but the absolute worst customer experience I have ever experienced. Working CS for a big budget game myself, I am absolute appaled at the intelligence level of my replies.

The first was a automated reply, fair enough big queue time kind of comes hand in hand with that. Second was a need more info to, trust me on this, a ticket that should have made every CS rep leap for joy at the complete info it provided (I know how to put them in as I read them all day).

The third reply, after another day of waiting asked me if the issue was still occurring....that is it.

The final kicker for me was the 4th reply to the same issue thread, telling me how to clean my web browser. PWE, I'm fine with a known issue and even one that takes days to resolve. I know how that is. Get your CS act together for the love of Romulus.

I am also having the exact same issue, for the same length of time! My customer service hasn't gone beyond the first ticket yet as i've been busy with work and such... But this is my main toon and has a LOT of things in his bank that i would be really upset about losing access to. Please let me know if any of you have resolution to this issue.

Same issue with server not responding but in a different area. Went to my ships interior to change to my shuttle to do the Vault. When I clicked to leave interior I got the message server not responding. Now on that character whenever I log in it does the same thing. PO'd doesn't begin to express how I'm feeling :mad:

Same here.

My main char got stuck in the "crappy malfunctioning database" dimension.

We all know how their support is.
? First they copy/paste some unrelated drivel along the lines of "try this...." replies in hopes they have gotten rid of you for a day, until the REAL techs come to work.

? Then they send you some other unrelated "try this and that TRIBBLE a baby can look up in google in the first place" answers to your problem.

? Then they pass your problem to the big honchos who are busy with other stuff totally unrelated. They look into the database,.. scratch their head,.... few days pass. They scratch some more,... some more days pass.

? They then contact you apologizing "citing workload etc. etc.... blah, blah, blah" *puke*, until you're absolutely furious and you call them over the phone.

? Then you call their support and maybe you start to have some one to one conversation with the person that actually knows what is going on, but even he tries to diffuse the issue as he is powerless and awaiting the devs solution to the problem same as you are.

? You slam down the phone, open a beer, utter some vulgar curses under your breath and create a new toon you can actually play. (cursing all the way up to lvl 20+). Checking this forum thread every 3 hrz or so.

Yep same problem here my Main can not log on get to 94 and then nothing let it run for 30 mis

I been having the same issue with my Federation character no problems yet with my Klingon and Romulan charaters but I didn't create them till after I started having server not responding on my Federation character same location trying to get out of DS9 been trying since they added the Romulan Faction with no luck and when I try to get to support it comes back error page not found every time only thing I haven't tried is to delete my Fed character and try to start over which im not happy about if that's what it comes down to ill stop playing

Funfact.

I had exactly THIS bug on a char on tribble. On my mainchar I transfered to tribble before for some testing. (before the whipe) I had it at 74% at beaming from ESDg to ESDs.
Others had this bug on testroms.

And now i have this bug on the same char on holo. My main, my oldest, the one with the most zstore stuff and other stuff invested.
And realy, after this I am not in the mood to play one of my supporterchars or to start a rom. Just because i support new chars from my main for the start (mostly with ec).

I was hoping, that they resolve the bug for the launch, but no. So, see you when i can access my main again.
Time to play some other games.

I'm having this problem now trying to beam down to starfleet academy, Has anyone found a fix yet?

I've been having this on my main for over a day now, hoping it would be temporary. I got a server disconnect at Klingon Academy, and since then it loads from mid 80's to 90's loaded on the loading screen, disconnected from the server. I have the message "Timed out connecting to GameServer." This was happening on JUST one character, with other characters perfectly able to log in while at Klingon Academy; I have no idea why my main is unplayable.

Now... my second "main" has the same problem,only this time I was trying to go to Romulus. These are the only two characters I tend to play, and the only two I care about; I have 7 more characters, all of which are utility characters I have no intention of playing beyond simple stuff, and frankly, I'm not inclined to play anything beyond what little I have been, but I can't play the ones I want to.

I have absolutely no idea what to do at this point. Ticket submitted but... this was one of the only times I'm able to play this week.

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like ALL of my characters are slowly succumbing to this TRIBBLE. Two of my utility alts just got stuck with this bug.

I've been having the same issue with my Orion, and one of my Fed alts when I try beaming up or crossing into other sector blocks. Without fail, I'll disconnect on beam up or clicking to enter a sector. It's starting to really tick me off, it's been going on a few days now

EDIT: Add my main Fed to that for a trio now. Trying to play a Foundry mission at the moment and it keeps disconnecting...

Was very curious if any of you had ever gotten this resolved. NCCreaper has described my issue exactly. I'm a lifetime account that has recently come back to play the game from a VERY long break. There have been several changes in the game; Mission changes, item lockouts, server migrations, even a company buyout and a change to Free2Play. Admittedly plenty of reason for something to have gone wrong with my data.

The problem is isolated to ONLY my main character, my other 3 characters log in just fine with no problems. On the main however I attempt to login and it never makes it past the loading screen, it loads (just as Nccreaper said) to 92-94% and then stops and and gives a "Server Not Responding <counter>" error. Where the counter continuously counts up how many seconds without a server response.


My main character was(?) a lv20+ Commander character and until now was the only character i had of any recognition. I've been playing another character while working with Customer Service (CS) so the other character is 'almost' a mmoot point, but I'd still like to get the money/items I can salvage off of him. CS has tried to help me, but I'm either not getting my point across very well or they don't understand what it is I'm asking. So I've searched through the forums here for others who've experienced the same problem with only one character in the account hoping to find a few more ideas of things I might try.

I apologize for not making a new post; new ARC forum accounts apparently can only make replies to previously created threads and since this one seemed to fit.

I have recently returned to STO as a f2p. Thinking about subbing. But I get the response 'Server not responding' often. Normally it's between load screens. So finish the space part of the quest, then have to beam down, nearly every time I get to a load screen. Really frustrating.

This doesn't make me want to subscribe. This happened to me last time I came here to try it out but I could not get any answers regarding this issue, so I left and didnt subscribe. Devs if you want me to subscribe then this needs to be fixed. I'm happy to trouble shoot as well.

@ other players... do you ever get a Dev response on these forums? Is posting here a waste of time?

I've been having the same trouble ever since season 9. I get on and 5 to 10min I get server not r esponding then get kicked out. It seems that every Thursday patch it runs good the whole day. Then the next day it starts not responding again. Help please! I love this game but get tired of the same old thing.....
