    Getting the same thing, and this was using that new launcher link they had out..

    Looks like will have to reinstall the game to see if it works...

    same for me, the launcher crashes and tried to open up IE (odd)

    Yeah I've been trying to reinstall the game for hours now (recently changed OS), and while terribly slow as expected at the time you stated 16:47 CST it stopped and then started telling me wrong login information, and now it's just a blank launcher. ah well already had thought maybe I should just wait until tomorrow

    Think Cryptic did it on purpose? Just so that many players give up and that the new Romulan area don't get overcrowded, laggy and that made STO look bad?

    I'm getting the same. It says its retrieving the character list and then says it can't log in.

    I also just finished patching, but can't log in because of this.

    The patch was going at the ridiculously slow speed, then the launcher suddenly restarted completely - Password not recognised a couple of times, so I restarted it manually - Then the patch finished in a few seconds, but 'Login failed for an unknown reason'.

    As someone said earlier, I'm thinking that one of the servers crashed, patch server or login server...

    Count me in as well - though mine goes past the white screen to a new flashy launcher with lcars loading block.

    Note to cryptic - if it aint broke, don't fix it *lol*

    Says the same for me, was working ok then got DC'd, will not load when I restarted the Application it won't even bring up the screen for me to type in my password or account name

    What the hell did you guys do to the game launcher.

    I am now getting this message.

    NOT FOUND

    The requested URL /Launcher_ Login was not found on this server.

    And then the Game launcher freezes at that small loading message.

    And on top of this i though the game patch after the game closed was suppose to be the main be patch.

    So how come we have to patch again.

    ok after dealing with the failed launcher I was able to move past the script error, of which there are multiple script errors, seeing if it will move past that now

    Sucks. I just finally got my patch done, and of course the server has to go down. Not that I really mind... from what I hear, I wont be able to use my starter pack... which means that I can't start my Rommie, as I don't want to outlevel the ship I paid for.

    Not no on purpose. Just laziness and extreme frugality. Cryptic never prepares well for season releases or expansions. They wait until they know how much demand they have and adjust accordingly. Problem with that philosophy is that even though it saves you money in the short term, it loses you money in the long term because a lot of times people's first impression of a product is their first experience with it-in this case, our experience with just downloading it.

    Got kicked out of the game ... then 10mins with a not working launcher ...
    Then i got a launcher update ..... then 10mins later i could reconnect, and start game again.

    Now ingame login screen say : Login failed for an unknown reason
