I have level 50 starfleet engineer i will have a kdf sci officer and a romulan tactical officer lets face it romulan's ships are not set up like the kdf with universal BO stations a real shame but i can live with it
Your point would be valid if anyone but a very small group of KDF players cared. I am inclined to play Klingon because I'd enjoy a different play style and an opportunity to fly some cool-looking ships. I don't care about PvP much and now I have a lot of stuff to do as a Klingon. That's rad. That's gonna draw people in. The console is a non-issue for the vast majority of the player base.
I simply cannot grasp this petulant, petty, artificial tribalism. This bad attitude is far more of a turn-off to playing Klingon than any number of consoles.
I'm going to shrug off what is coming off to me like an insult because I'm sure you didn't intend it as such. Regardless of what you may or may not think about what is special about one faction or another, there are always people on the sideline, unsure as to what faction to choose. If they weigh the pro's and con's, as I'm sure many would, Feds would come off as more attractive because they have access to all the same consoles and now with rommies, they have cloak. So even if you are selfishly Klingon in that you only care about playing Klings and Kling PVE and you have every right to be, you should very much care about issues like parity and who gets what consoles because they will determine how attractive a faction is to people who aren't partial to either and thereby determine how much KDF grows relative to the feds. And that will in turn determine how much content that faction gets.
Truth be told in ground combat the kdf players know what to do 99% of the time. while the feds run around and get killed the rage quit cuz they rushed the damn map. That why I feel more safe in ground combat in a all kdf team then an all fed team.:D
The KDF have already gotten access to the best Fed consoles in previous Lockboxes. We don't have that much left to give. Do you want the Grappler off my NX instead?
No but I do want that plasma manifold off the Oberth. HAND IT OVER FED.

That will probably be in the next Lockbox after Tal Shiar: a T1 Fed console for a T1 KDF consoles.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Why didn't you just include the non-ship specific Universal Console list that I typed up too? :P

It absolutely wasn't intended as an insult, and I am sorry if it came across as such. It certainly wasn't personal or directed at you specifically, though I realize I did not convey that very well. I am sorry about that, too.
The thing is that no one has to pick just one. I can play a Feddie and a KDF character more ore less concurrently if I want. Plenty of people do. The console issue isn't an issue. Nothing is stopping me from satisfying my curiosity by simply creating a toon and playing the KDF side for a few hours to see if I like it. I'm not going to break open the STO wiki and carefully weigh the pros and cons of each side then commit to one and one only for the rest of my time in STO. Players CAN, if they wish, limit themselves to just one side by choice, but that's on them. I just don't understand the mindset.
You mean roll a new KDF character? Having played through KDF story on Tribble, I would say the reason will become self-evident to anyone who loves Star Trek at its finest, which is ultimately one of the greatest stories ever told, and that has very little to do with bean-counting dps, who has what now, etc etc.

...the Resonance Cascade Modulator console (Steamrunner) IMHO more usefull then the "Buttsniffer".
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...

I understand the mindset. I played a fed, joined a fleet, got ignored and felt alone. I made a kdf Orion female, love the skimpy outfit, joined a fleet, made many friends but some questioned why i play female. made my own fleet, invited females now i have the highest rated kdf base online. I still have my fed though and even logged onto it but still feel lonely so now i play exclusively kdf. Now do you understand my mindset?
Its seems to me that Cryptic has seen the failing of the KDF and instead of trying to give the faction gimmicks to for the lack of content they have actually addressed the issue at hand. They have added PvE content from lvl 1 to 50.
So while I can understand older players being upset with how the Klingon faction was not fleshed out fully isn't time to say at least give cryptic its dues for fixing that content gap?
I don't know about what things were like in the past but now that you are getting "the full content" treatment isn't that better than what gimmick piece of equipment was unique to the KDF designed to distract you from the fact there was little to do on the Klingon side?
...the Resonance Cascade Modulator console (Steamrunner) IMHO more usefull then the "Buttsniffer".
In a world now two-thirds populated by cloakers, a buttsniffer might be useful.

everything and anything that was unique to that faction is or will become available to the feds at some point.
Excellent, I look forward to my Federation Bird of Prey then... as well as the option to play through the KDF only PVE missions. Glad to know that EVERYTHING unique to the KDF will be made available to Federation players.
I especially look forward to those little toys everyone likes to use in PvP... i love it every time they distribute those between factions as it puts quite a few PvPer's little panties in a bunch.
Because the Doffing is cooler, the contraband is easier to get, they can have giant lizards and green skinned slave girls and a free carrier.
And maybe people actually wanted to see what pvp only looked like eons ago. I haven't played an actual mission with my KDF for over 2 years but have one cause reasons.
Cheers from Antonio Valerio Cortez III, Half-Celestial Archduke of the Free Marches Confederacy.
Still patching, so enough time to keep on ranting.
You know I play a character, a faction, a side for the atmosphere, the story behind it. All the rubbish, they have this and they have that, I don't care that about it. As a matter of fact, I see it as a poor game attitude to let that, gear, skills, items etc. decide for you what race or faction to play.
KDF is till superior to Fed when it comes to doffing and contraband/dilithium farming. I never saw it as a drawback to start at level 20, in fact for an altaholic it is just great, but I was lucky to do some beta testing and the new klingon content is awesome.
flame away. you do you, i'll do me. it's not like anything I or any of you say makes a difference anyway. in the end, we're still running around in circles doing the same old TRIBBLE anyway. status quo for the win!
I didn't roll a KDF character before because I didn't feel there was enough content to enjoy.
If, however, the OP's attitude is representative of the attitude of KDF players in general, I'll probably refrain from doing so now that the content problem is taken care of.
So caring about our faction being unique is bad and you want nothing to do with us for it.
Maybe if KDF could keep a lot of stuff that makes it unique there would be more KDF, and there would be more regular KDF content to enjoy. Now there isn't much point besides just playing through the tutorial and going back to your Fed or Fed-Romulan.
KDF will lose out a lot on potential numbers now as most Romulans will now ally with Fed instead of KDF, and most Feds quit their KDF alt after playing the new epsiodes since they can use all the KDF gear on their already leveled up Feds.
I would roll kdf because it has access to all fancy fun little consoles like subspace jumper, aceton assimilator, plasmonic leech, graviton generator, vent theta radiation, isometric charge. oh wait feds get 85% of those alrdy nevermind move along!
Say the word, it saves the world. CUUCUUMBEER!"-With slight partigen with it." Proud member or DPS-800"-We kill dem mines with our scitter turrets."
Our orion women are available to you through your diplomacy doff TRIBBLE.
It's even worse than the TRIBBLE ginger stepchild no one ever wanted.
First unless your a male going through puberty having this isn't really an argument to play or not play a faction and just emphases the lame sadness of the rest of your post.
2nd Making reference to a redhead is by default illegitimate and a reject of society rather reinforces this post was made by a 14 yr old or the most emotionally crippled socially enpt individual using inappropriate insulting and targeted comments. I think you should get a forum ban for this. I'm not a redhead btw I just find that kind of stereotyping offensive.
I think rather than the Plasmonic Leech or Battle Cloak not being singular to KDF anymore (BATTLE CLOAK is broken IMO anyway) which any new player wont know about, so plenty of fresh blood signing up. Anti-social power gamers making posts like yours are the biggest reason to not bother with the KDF.

The new KDF mission content is encouraging, but considering the starting boot situation, it's not worth it. Just not worth it.

That is all one needs to know about anything.
Yup, the kdf should get the Andorian battle cruiser special consoles! Yay for faction uniqueness!

If you love FED you will play as FED
If you love Romulans you will play as Romulan
One console will not affect decission of a new player to avoid another faction just because of it.
Farming. Excellent farming.
Also, the tears of the fanboys across Kronos keep my spikey Klingon boots supple.

If all I hear is how awful it is playing KDF from KDF players, I will assume the experience isn't an enjoyable one.
I'd be even happier if you added more race specific ships to the default selections. You already have the models ..Let us fly them
