I'm already on reduced GPU settings, which is utterly pathetic really considering the age of the game and the machine I'm using.
The rep is far from 'invisi players', they drop out of view for a maximum of 2 seconds randomly, as long as you are cycling your buffs correctly, it makes no difference at all.
The shield regen is far from twice as powerful, by the looks of it, it scales with your shield natural regen, big, slow covariant shields get a bigger boost, typically regenerative gets virtually nothing.
Having an escort placate you if your in a fat boat just spamming heals... I agree no big deal. You where unlikely to kill anyone anyway.
Getting placated when you in fact run a ship built to play the game its annoying. With 2 escorts shooting at each other... the one with placate wins unless there is a massive skill divide. Its far to powerful.
The regen is more then double for cov shields... around double for resists... and less then that for regen... as it should be. lol
The last thing we need to give to regen shields would be a doubling of regen... its a bonus for them still but doubling the regen on them would be more then a bit OP. Regardless at full shield power the passive gives you between 1100-1500 shields every 6 seconds... lets be honest that's better then low levels of TSS. For a passive ALWAYS on bonus its still just as broken design as the placate.
The strange thing is that the placate is being called a skill. Is's not even an ability. It's a passive trait. Yes, it can provide a tactical advantage. Yes, it's imbalanced b/c it it breaks/negates fully skilled boff abilities. I personally feel it would be better suited for RP. It's a lot like thowing sand in someone's face during a fistfight; constantly.
3 solid steps to fixing it would be: 1) Can't break holds, 2) Doesn't work on an opponent with alpha up, and 3) Wont work if the user is sensor scanned. It could still be useful without being completely silly. It also wouldn't hurt PvE because people still have PH, APO, PSW, TBR, and T5 placate to escape the Borg tractor beams .
I still will expect a retrait respec for having the romulan T4 placate choice changed at the behest of the communties dislike for it.
On the other hand I have no issue with it and find it functions exactly as advertised. A placate that breaks targeting.
It has not ever worked for me in any other fashion. Any abilities used on me continued to function as normal if I was legitimately a target when cast.
I have never even found the T4 placate more than a really surprisimg annoyance as I lost targeting on a target using it, nothing more, and usaully had it re-target seconds later.
So regardless of my own apathy towards the T4 rep as it is, what it may be nerfed into or if a new power is created to replace it I expect a respec since my choice of it is obvisoully gona to be made invalid due to popular opinion.

But.....what about making it a skill buff that lasts 20-30 seconds with a 3-5 min cool down?
