I know you guys are against a Tier 5 Connie, I know that a skin from the new universe wouldn't make any sense and getting the rights to it would be a challenge, but please make this possible. With the new movie series, people are going to start checking this game out, getting a Constitution Class ship and wondering where in the h*** the new movie version is. We don't need an explanation for it being in the game, though one would make for another alternate timeline mission. This would be purely for commercializing purposes and more importantly, I and I'm sure many others would like to fly one.

Whenever I see one of these, I think to myself: "we need a function that scans if this suggestion has already been made".
This suggestion has already been beaten to little pieces over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over in the past 3 years.
PLEASE STOP BEATING the dead horse.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Tek-nick-ly speaking, this is about a Federation starship so the thread belongs in the Federation Shipyards. And here it goes.
My views may not represent those of Cryptic Studios or Perfect World Entertainment. You can file a "forums and website" support ticket here Link: How to PM - Twitter @STOMod_Bluegeek
Beside the quali of the new Movies, it wouldnt make any sense because we play in a total other universe where the ships never where build in this way because nero changed the timeline
I for one would prefer the original JJ trek's 1701 would spoil the game since it is meant to be in the prime universe I personally like to think that JJ trek doesnt exist especially after the things I have heard of the film

might be why we arent seeing some of the things we want
and can someone explain the hate for the new movie Enterprise to me. It looks just like TMP ship with agressive looking nacelles.
Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
If I see a JJ Enterprise, I'll kindly blow that vile monstrosity of a ship out of the stars for free. It's ugly
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
On one hand, it's a distinctive ship from a popular movie series that's active right now. So Cryptic could make a lot of money off it. Plus, it would resolve the T5 Connie debate since the JJprise is supposedly more advanced than its counterpart in "our" universe. And we know the Tholians have been messing around with other universes.
On the other hand, the JJ bashing on these forums would increase exponentially. And I don't think I could handle that.
The only way I could see it working is in a lockbox. And that's assuming Cryptic/PWE gets the rights to use it, which seems rather unlikely.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
You're not a real trekkie if you don't love/hate different kinds of trek.
funny...i hated TNG when it came out and still get a twinge of dislike when I see someone flying a Galaxy

Seeing as how this is what like the 4th or 5th thread over this in the past two weeks, I'll put this in as plain English as possible in hope of finally stopping such trash from cluttering the forums.
IF it is in another game, book, comic, 2009 Star Trek or Newer CRYPTIC CANNOT PUT IT IN THE FRAKING GAME!!! Yes there has been 1 or 2 exceptions, one of which was the ship designer actively trying to get it in the game as much as fans wanted it, the second I believe was the Titan.
And just for making yet another thread about this......BAD DOG, BAD DOG.....OUTSIDE!!!! (and yes I mean the airlock)
well considering how you aren't the owner of the board or a mod...you can't tell people what to post on these boards. Maybe since there have been a bunch of threads about it then someone will see that there is a desire for it and may change peoples minds.

I read the article linked on page 1 and this caught my eye:
There will be television properties, theme park rides and spin-off films all centered around the new trilogy that Abrams will oversee. It?s a page borrowed from Disney?s exploitation of the Marvel comic books and if it works out, it should make Abrams very rich indeed.
Taken out of context, this is really disappointing. How about a movie made for the fans, eh?
Regardless, if that article helps everyone understand that asking Cryptic for this-or-that ship or uniform is not something they can simply "make it so", then it may help stem the tide of these request posts.
There is a very good reason Cryptic is not responding the some requests and its not their fault. Frankly, I would rather Cryptic come out and just respond to the requests with *something* to help us know what they can and can't do. I'm not asking for promises, just possibilities.

it wouldnt make him rich unless he is working on everything. He'd only make money off spinoffs is if he exec produces the new tv show. he would not see a dime off comics or action figures or anything like that.

Creating Duplicate Threads (A Duplicate Thread is defined as a thread which discusses the same topic as another thread, which has had a new post within the last 30 days.)
Since there was a Tier 5 Constitution thread with the most recent new post being May 15, 2013 and this thread was created May 16, 2013 the OP should have posted there instead. Perhaps a thread merge is in order?
So you either are the thread enforcer or not....and considering how the official boards manager isn't shutting down/ merging or locking the thread....you still don't have a leg to stand on....I don't see you in the countless Galaxy threads complaining...

This thread is about adding a New Star Trek SKIN to a T5 Constitution.
The other thread is about adding a T5 Constitution.
They are different topics.
This thread is going to be filled with talk about Paramount, JJ Abrams, Hatred for JJ Abrams, possibly a Lost or Alias reference, a whole lot of talk about Star Wars, Licensing, Jar Jar Binks, and maybe even some USS Vengeance hatred.
The other thread is filled with talk about CBS saying no. The Constitution is too old. Too small. And all sorts of other things that do not even have an impact on this topic because CBS has never said anything official about the new Enterprise in the new films, it's not too old since the time travel thing in the first movie created this huge ship based on scans of the Narada and borg tech mixes in there too, and it's a lot larger than the old Constitution was so it's definitely the appropriate size.
Totally different threads which will argue back and forth completely different minutiae.
Here's my advice to the people complaining about these topics getting discussed repeatedly and being created all the time:
Don't click on the thread.
I have an anecdote to share from my own experience.
I am absolutely sick and tired of reading about the Dilithium Refining Cap. I see new threads created about that every other day. It's a dead end conversation to me. Cryptic hasn't said anything new about it in AGES. So it's just the same old arguments hashed and rehashed over and over again.
You know what I do? I click on T5 Connie threads instead. They still interest me. I haven't clicked on a Dilithium Cap thread in at least three months.
Viola.
Problem solved. All it took was initiative on my part.
well considering how you aren't the owner of the board or a mod...you can't tell people what to post on these boards. Maybe since there have been a bunch of threads about it then someone will see that there is a desire for it and may change peoples minds.
I never said anything that could be in anyway indirectly or directly be perceived as telling someone what they can and cannot post. I have no idea where you got that from that I was trying to.
Technically this is a semi separate topic because of the additional request of the 2009 ST Enterprise skin. However, it is just another spin on trying to get a T5 Constitution added to the game so really it isn't anything new.
I'd love to know where in the hell this perception of "More threads on same topic = More Dev response". If they have to search through tons of different threads on the same exact topic with multiple pages per thread, chances are they're not going to, they've got better things to do then search high and low through the entire forums trying to find all the threads on the same topic, same goes with mods and merging threads.
A perfect example of this is a week or two ago someone spammed the same topic across multiple sections of the forums. There were countless replies about spamming threads in multiple sections and they accrued multiple pages. By your logic that would show a huge desire for whatever that was about simple because of thread and reply count. And no not all of them got merged/closed because a couple were missed. Different sections of the forums have different mods, and mods are busy people too ya know.
Also technically since this is in relation to a tier 5 ship it should actually be in the c-store and promotions section, but you don't see it moved....why.....because then the forums get even more cluttered with Thread moved/merged.
If we all kept like topics in single threads and in proper sections the devs would have a much easier time finding topics that matter to us and be able to better gauge our desire for something. Not to mention it would also be a lot less clutter on the forums. Why should mods have to do all the "housework" when it's simple common sense we could all do ourselves that would make everything better on multiple fronts.
There's a huge difference between saying "this is actually really similiar to this topic thread here and/or would best be put in this section"
than
"Why the hell are you posting this garbage and not even in the right section"
like you're accusing me of trying to tell the op what to post and what not to.
Personally I like the design of the 2009 Enterprise, a bit too bright white on the inside though. Legal issues aside there are plenty of storyline possibilities for adding it in, but the legal issues are what will probably prevent it from ever being added and that's the point my original post was trying to make.
That abomination of a ship doesn't belong in this game for a slew of reasons, most importantly its part of a alternate time.
Don't give me any of this about how a story involving the Tholians could bring it to our time, why in gods name would the Tholians go back in time and take inferior vessels? Why steal 23rd century tech when you're already working with 29th century tech?
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

Not hate it's just some people don't like the ship and it's their right not to. some people don't like the oversized nacelles
But lets get back to the main point of this thread. Plain and simple, mr abrams constitution class enterprise doesn't belong in this timeline. Theres no real canon reason why starfleet would use a totally different design for their ship from a alternate reality that they may have little to no knowledge about.
If alot of people want alternate universe ships then it would be logical for them to focus their efforts on getting a mmo that focuses on said universe.
nothing from JJ movie can be used in this game other then talking about spock and nero and Romulus got nuked by JJ him self
And the red matter capacitor. And the weird romulan face tatts. And you can actually make your new romulan characters look like they were part of Nero's crew with the uniform options in LoR. And the Jellyfish is part of STO's timeline. And the Kelvin can be part of the STO timeline. And the Klingon Honor Guard armor set. And so on and so forth.
This game's entire storyline begins with the premise of that movie. (And before anyone says that comes from the countdown comic ... look it up ... the Countdown comic is a movie tie in, written by people who worked for the 2009 film's writers, and the countdown comic's story came about from Kurzman, Orci and Abrams giving the comic's writers the story idea).

Q Junior can transplant it to your time to annoy people. And then Luclsey and Dulmer can retrofit it to be in line with this time period's technological capabilities.

On a side note keep that vile ship where it belongs in non Canon movies
Thanks

Lol, there's always that older generation that refuses to accept new Trek.:D
There were people who refused to accept TNG as true Trek when it first came out.
