can u put gear score here and lock elite stf to everyone who dont have full epic gear,so much ppl coming there whit mx10 or worse gear since they dont need better gear to can enter:mad:
No...absolutely not. I have all MkXii purples and I loathe this elitist nonsense. It's ythe height of arrogance to limit someone else's enjoyment of the game because they're pixels aren't purple enough for you. If that's what you want go back to WOW.

MK X whites can handle Elite STF's. It is a matter of what are Captaining, what sort of Captain you are, and if you know what you are doing. So your proposal OP is completely unnecessary.

Truth here.
How you fly your ship is more important than the actual gear that's on it for the most part. Even the most horribly kitted ships can still do eSTFs with little effort if abilities and chaining is done correctly.
Absolutely... utterly... unequivocally NOT a chance. A good fleet / friends that teach everything to know about doing STFs right, is infinitely better than the digital discrimination, that GearScore has turned 'certain' MMOs into.
And go to the Elite STF channels, if you want a better quality player, for an ESTF. Pugging Elites straight up, has essentially never been a good idea, anyway.
Gear score has been a bad thing in every game that's used it (most of which it's a player creation, not a game feature). It feeds a mentality of itemlevel over all else, so you see bizarre things like rogues with caster daggers and mages with attack power rings or tanks with cloth gloves because those are the highest ilevel items outside of raids.
The only good thing I can say about it is that every WoW expansion while I played, a last-tier raider could get a high enough gearscore to break the mod, then he could make the fools rage in dungeons about his abnormally low gearscore, and solo the first pull without a tank to show off while they tried to vote him out.
The difference between white and purple gear is about 15% - about the difference between blue and purple in WoW. The difference between a rainbow ship and a "proper" build is even less - about 3% per console after skill points come into play.
A team of escorts in full purples with good builds should be doing around 200-400% MORE damage than is needed to hit the DPS checks. Gear accounts for approximately nothing in a margin like that.

So because I haven't spent 120 million EC on purple consoles to fill the junk science slots on my ship, I am now barred from elite STFs which I already demolish with flying colours.
Yep, I too support your dumb idea.

Couldn't have summed it up better myself.
But if the OP feels this strongly about it, then feel free to send some purple mk xii consoles my way so I am uh...better prepared for ESTF's in the future
Absolutely not. This is one of the few things Cryptic could do to get me to leave. As others have said, you can do ESTFs in white MK X gear. It's all about your own skill and understanding the strategy of each map. Gear score is for the people who don't know any better and think that mad leet purpz make you teh awesomez. Or whatever junk they say that makes no sense.
You can put common-quality gear on a ship and still do 6k DPS. It's all about playstyle: the abilities you use, how you use them, positioning, and so on.
Look, I've spent hundreds of millions of EC on gear, for my own amusement. That doesn't make me or anyone else a good player. I certainly wouldn't want something like Gearscore in STO.
Item level is really just a measure of luck and number of nights you spend playing a game while you should be sleeping. Skill level is completely unrelated.

The problem is bad players, not bad gear. A good player can go into an elite STF with a freshly-minted Vice Admiral and still play well. And conversely, just because a player has full XII gear in every slot doesn't mean they know how to play. It just means they've facedesked their way through enough to get whatever they wanted.
if you had run a stf with the two guys I got paired with last friday you might not consider it such a joke
one of them spent the entire time shouting "yippee kai ay (deleted) " and kirk rolling
and the other one lay on the ground shouting Help in german for half the mission
had it not been for an Andorian tactical and a Rather helpful (and definately insane) federation klingon speced for melee we would probably still be at it
As an aside, when did making a joke become trolling?
When Sollvax made it, because... Edit: oh hey, look, he posted. See? Those two German guys are everybody in the entire game with that set, and if history is any indication we will now have a twelve page discussion with Sollvax about why that is true.

I'd be interested in a version of it that uses Cryptic Math to calculate the score itself.
Just imagine it. Biofunction monitors would give you a bigger score than the field emitter! Stuff like that!
It would be something like that... Neverwinter has gearscore implemented, and it also varies your gearscore depending on some temporary buffs. This doesn't always work.
No Idea
but as he did not talk other than to shout for help Im not sure he had team chat on anyway
As I say the Andorian and the Klingon carried the fight and I kept them both alive (Sci speced for healing)
I would not want to mess with either of them in ground pvp

What we should have, is more tips on loading screens!
"Use special ship equipment unlocked through the reputation system to give you a survival edge in STF's!"
"Using all one type of energy weapon helps conserve power, Dealing more damage over time"
I can't think of any more, but things along those lines

however how about blocking anyone who has full maco from ground stfs

Is that full maco space or full maco ground?

Does NO work?

Space maco does not make you behave like bruce willis
but space maco could make you behave like Han Solo.
Oh and is that Bruce Willis in GI Joe 2 or Bruce Willis in Expendables 2?

Yeah.... no. Why penalize someone for having good gear? I hope you're trying to troll or something, because that's just a horrible idea.

I had a look (control wizard to level 16)
its getting more and more repetative and less and less occupied
the low level areas are packed
seems once you hit about 12 and move to where the orcs are (tower district) theres hardly anyone there
now maybe they all moved on and the newer guys are not there yet
but well STO is always going to be the better game
