Legacy of Romulus Open Beta and Tribble Test Weekend [Now Ended]

This coming weekend is a Tribble Test Weekend, as well as the start of our Open Beta! Not only can you test out the new content releasing with the launch of Legacy of Romulus, but you can earn a special reward for doing so. Read more for full details.

We are pleased to announce that the Open Beta and Tribble Test Weekend for Legacy of Romulus is now LIVE! More details can be found through the link above.

Please note that character transfers from Holodeck to Tribble are temporarily disabled.

    Brandon ... Does time already spent testing on Tribble in closed beta count towards the award as well?

    No -- the Tribble Test Weekend period is active from the time Tribble is patched with its update tomorrow until 10AM PDT on Monday, May 13th, 2013* (*see blog).

    Legacy Test Tribble: Petting this tribble causes 3 hours server downtime. Petting again procs 45 additional min of downtime.

    Nice to have the tribble test weekend the same time Neverwinter does a Double Astral Diamond weekend... Inter-Office rivalry, perhaps? ;)

    Do you mean the Tribble Test Reward by testing at least 1 hour with this in general or how do you define "more serious testers"? Write x amount of posts, bug reports etc?

    Would be nice if you can you elaborate this.

    That could explain the numerous downtimes, they keep DDoS'ing each others shard servers.

    The details are in the article :) "Play on Tribble for at least one (1) hour and earn an exclusive reward. The reward will be revealed and available at a currently unannounced date post Legacy of Romulus launch."

    Im a little dismayed that us closed beta testers get nothing unless we log in this weekend

    But it is what it is and i will do as ive done throughout and log in and test for several hours as normal.

    So Branflakes can we get a hint what the "reward" is or is it a wait and see thing

    Reward tribbles work for KDF characters. Actually, since KDF characters have fewer tribble options a tribble is better for them than a UFP character who is already inundated with choices there.

    Only a tribble this time. Oh Well, works for me. Should have no problem getting an hour of testing during this weekend.

    If serious tester means getting to 50, think of us who cant get past missions which seem to be blocked.. kdf cloak and dagger no anetrozine available anywhere!

    The servers are juts going to have a heart attack. Let's hope that there's enough time to play for an hour before the servers crash.

    Does creating a character on Tribble allow you to "port" that character over once LoR goes live? I fancy trying out the Beta, and I never turn my nose up at a reward, but it'd be nice to pick up where I left off when LoR releases.

    The Reward better not be another lame tribble. Tribble of Borg was cool for the Easter Egg sound bytes it has, but the rest are Meh. A Doff (or two, or three) would be cool.

    Only gamers complain about getting things for free. :)

    Heck, it will probably take most players an hour just to get through the tutorial, so just doing that earns you something free even if you do nothing else.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    No. You can not transfer Tribble Toons to Holodeck.

    What Happens on Tribble, Stays on Tribble.

    Tribble is a test server and they never want to even come close to taking the chance of corrupting the Live Holodeck with anything from Test.

    Yep! You can patch it now, and then patch any updates that are added before the test starts later. The test officially starts and begins tracking for the reward at the time Tribble is patched with its update tomorrow.

    I always appreciate free stuff-LoR is a LOT of free stuff.

    Is the reward given to each character on an account if just one character is played for one hour? I can't remember who was on there since they were wiped out in the tragic toon massacre

    If I remember Correctly, If you have already signed up for tribble. You should just have to log in to the launcher like normal, in the server area where it usually lists "Holodeck" there should also be an option for "tribble" click that and it should start patching automatically.

    Based on previous Test Weekend Rewards. It is a simple account unlock not linked to your Tribble Character. You can use a transfered character, create a new character or delete the tribble character after the test weekend and it will not effect your getting/not getting the test weekend reward.

    Will there be multiple rewards for the amount of time spent testing like with the F2P testing or will it be just the one reward?
