Hi Playing now for a year. Using windows Vista 64b never had sound playing star treck, tried all the tips from the forum nothing worked. Downloaded Tribble last night and as long as i play on tribble i have sound.
And one more question: How come i experienced no lag and far better graphic on tribble?
To the first, check your master volume and other settings, make sure nothing is set to 0% - Tribble doesn't use holodeck settings, so if you had a bad setting somewhere it wouldn't carry over.
To the second: Tribble's new UI has greatly reduced the game's memory footprint and improved performance. It's also nearly desrted and has no instance congestion except occasionally during test weekends.
they also replaced ALL the game textures just before LOR closed beta went live.
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!
(paraphrased from "The Newsroom)
You could try to reset all your in-game settings and set them up from scratch again.
To do this navigate to the Star Trek Online\Live\localdata and delete the Gameprefs.pref file, this doesn't affect Control and Keybindings, just the other options.
thx to anyone who took the time but it is not the settings, one day i was on a team where a player had an open mic and I had sound as long as he had his mic open
