No internet connectivity?

Hello, I'm having a problem trying to install STO. I just purchased a new pc today. My specs are a Next Gen AMD Quad-Core A10-5700 Accelerated processor, 8 Gb ram, 1.5TB hard drive, AMD Radeon HD 766od graphics card, and Windows 8. I was able to download the launch file for STO but it will not install. All I get is an error message saying "No internet connectivity detected. Please reconnect and try again." This has been going on all day. Also, I can connect to every other web site with this machine as well as other devices in the house. I've tried disabling my anti-virus and firewall but that didn't work either.

    Ugh, I think I found a work around but the servers are down. :eek: lol

    I went to the "Get latest STO launcher here" thread. It's stuck toward the top of this forum. The only problem with that is that it'll download it to your desktop. By the way, I'm wondering if this is a Windows 8 issue?
